Acura, known for crafting some of the most remarkable luxury vehicles, has unveiled its first all-electric SUV – the 2024 Acura ZDX and ZDX Type S. These models were showcased at several premier events during Monterey Car Week, spotlighting Acura’s commitment to an electrified future.
The new ZDX is a thrilling addition to Acura’s portfolio. The ZDX Type S, in particular, makes waves with an estimated 500 horsepower, making it the most powerful Acura SUV ever built. Starting at $60,000 for the ZDX A-Spec single-motor, the lineup offers configurations for both rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive.
Anticipated to receive an EPA range rating of 325 zero-emission miles in its A-Spec single-motor configuration, the ZDX comes equipped with new technologies including Google built-in and Bang & Olufsen luxury audio. Additionally, the Type S variant features AcuraWatch 360+ with Hands-Free Cruise.
Designed at the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles, the ZDX introduces Acura’s latest styling language. This forward-thinking design was previewed by the Precision EV Concept, and it sets the stage for the next era of Acura’s brand aesthetics.
The price tag for the ZDX Type S starts in the $70,000 range, boasting a performance-tuned dual-motor AWD powertrain. Other performance-focused aspects of the Type S model include a near 50-50 weight distribution, as well as Brembo brakes. Acura promises a new, omni-channel digital sales process that ensures an effortless shopping experience, whether from the comfort of home or at an Acura dealership.
Emile Korkor, Assistant Vice President of Acura National Sales, expressed excitement for the brand’s future, stating, “The arrival of the new ZDX is an exciting moment for the Acura brand. It signals our transition to a zero-emissions future and demonstrates our commitment to Precision Crafted Performance in the electrified era.”
With the global debut of the 2024 Acura ZDX and ZDX Type S, Acura has firmly placed itself on the accelerated path towards a 100% electrified lineup. Pre-sale activities are starting later this year, and first client deliveries are slated for early 2024. Interested clients can sign up at Acura’s website to gain early access to information and reserve their new ZDX from their selected dealer.
The introduction of these models signifies an ambitious step in Acura’s journey, reflecting a clear commitment to innovation, performance, and sustainability. Those seeking class-leading premium technology and an engaging driving experience will find much to admire in the 2024 Acura ZDX and ZDX Type S.
