Ferrari F8 Tributos & F8 Spiders Are the Mid-Engine V8s to Soar

The F8 Tributo and F8 Spider now sit at an interesting point in the collector car world, as prices of modern Ferraris continue to skyrocket. Introduced as the replacement for the 488 GTB, it became the final evolution of Ferrari’s mid-engine V8 platform before the company moved into a new generation of hybrid-assisted performance cars. The F8 brought a revised chassis, updated aerodynamics, and technology borrowed from the SF90 Stradale, while keeping the familiar 3.9L twin-turbocharged V8 at its center. With 710 horsepower and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power to the rear wheels, it’s seriously quick, but Ferrari didn’t make the F8 Tributo difficult to drive on the street. For anyone searching for a Ferrari F8 Tributo for sale today, that combination of performance and usability remains a big part of its appeal. We also spent time behind the wheel for our Ferrari F8 Tributo review, where the car showed why it became such a popular model during its production run. The steering was quick, the V8 had plenty of character, and the car responded immediately when pushed harder. At the same time, it never needed a track to make sense. You could drive it through the city, take it on a weekend road trip, or find an empty stretch of road and enjoy what was, at the time, Ferrari’s latest take on the mid-engine V8 formula. Now that production has ended, the F8 Tributo has taken on a different place in the Ferrari lineup. It represents the end of a long-running formula that stretched back through the 458 and 488, making it an increasingly popular pick for collectors looking for a modern Ferrari with a proper V8 powertrain. Elferspot Spotlight: Three Porsches, Three Very Different Kinds of Rare

Elferspot Spotlight: Three Porsches, Three Very Different Kinds of Rare

Rarity gets thrown around a lot in the Porsche world. Almost every listing has a production figure attached somewhere, and some of those figures deserve a raised eyebrow. What we look for at Elferspot is the car where the rare part genuinely matters, where it changes how the car looks, drives or feels to own, and where the paperwork backs it up. This week's three all clear that bar, just from very different directions. One is a 997 you'll spot from the far end of a parking lot. Another is a 993 most people would walk straight past. The third is a RUF so thoroughly personal that you'll either love it on sight or need a minute to work out what you're looking at. 2011 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS in Paint to Sample Riviera Blue GALLERY-EMBED Riviera Blue is what stops you. According to the seller, only five 997 Carrera GTS Coupés were painted in this Paint to Sample color worldwide, and this German-market example still wears its original finish, with an accident-free history and maintenance kept entirely within the Porsche service network. Automotive Passion GmbH in Appen, Germany, is offering it with 121,174 kilometers on the clock, which we'd count in its favor. A PTS GTS that has actually been driven is far easier to enjoy than one that has spent its life as a delivery-mile ornament. The spec behind the paint holds up, too. Porsche introduced the Carrera GTS in 2010 as the bridge between the Carrera S and the GT3, giving it the wider body, center-lock wheels and a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six rated at 408 PS. This one has the dynamic options you'd hope for, with RS Spyder wheels, Sport Chrono Package Plus, the sports exhaust, PASM and a mechanical limited-slip differential all ticked, while the cabin pairs black full leather with an Alcantara headliner and Porsche Exclusive touches like stainless-steel door sills and embossed crests on the headrests. The caveat is the gearbox. It's PDK, and a good share of 997 buyers will only look at a six-speed manual. If you're not one of them, this is one of the most desirable naturally aspirated Carreras of the generation in a color you'll almost never see twice. View Listing 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 With the Factory X51 3.8-liter Engine GALLERY-EMBED Black, narrow-bodied, no wing. Park this 993 Carrera 2 at any Porsche meet and most people would stroll right past it, which is exactly what makes it fun. Porsche fitted it from new with the X51 factory Motorsport engine package, taking displacement from 3.6 to 3.8 liters and output to 285 PS while keeping the early non-Varioram architecture. The seller, Popea Auto Collec in France, estimates that roughly 80 Carrera 2 X51 cars were built. Treat that number as theirs, but it goes a long way toward explaining why you so rarely see one come up for sale. The rest of the option sheet is unusually serious for a standard-bodied Carrera. Alongside the X51 you get the 033 sports suspension, option 220's 40 percent limited-slip differential, the six-speed G50/21 gearbox and 17-inch Cup wheels, and code 09991 points to Porsche Exclusive involvement. Air conditioning, heated seats and an electric sunroof suggest the first owner wanted the engine without giving up any comfort, which we find oddly charming. Now the honest part. At 209,500 kilometers this car has been used properly, the seller openly acknowledges age-related imperfections in the body, and the chassis now runs Bilstein B16 suspension with reinforced H&R anti-roll bars, a change that will please a driver more than an originality purist. What steadies the picture is the file: a service booklet, invoices from Porsche Centers and recognized specialists, and a recent round of work covering the clutch, brakes at both ends, rear tires, the air-conditioning condenser, plugs and fluids. Just under EUR 100,000 for a matching-numbers X51 manual with that kind of history is hard to argue with. View Listing 2002 RUF 3400S in Light Purple Opal and Amparo Blue GALLERY-EMBED Then there's this. The paint on this RUF 3400S starts in Light Purple Opal at the nose and gradually becomes Amparo Blue Metallic toward the tail, and the idea doesn't stop at the bodywork. The convertible top is purple. The cabin mixes blue leather and Alcantara, the 996 GT3 bucket seat backs are finished in Amparo Blue Metallic, and even the brake calipers follow the progression, purple up front and blue at the rear. According to the listing, the first owner was close to the RUF family and chose the colors as a tribute to her own hair. You can think whatever you like about the result, but nobody can say it was done halfway. Under all that is a proper RUF. The 3400S started from the Boxster concept and moved well beyond it, with a 3.4-liter 996-derived flat-six tuned to around 305 PS, a six-speed manual, upgraded suspension and a dual exhaust. This car adds RUF mirrors, side skirts, 19-inch RUF wheels, a removable rear wing and a 996 GT3 front bumper, and it carries a genuine RUF chassis number, which is the first thing any collector should check. The seller states only twelve 3400S examples were built. It has covered 75,700 miles with three owners, and it comes with invoices, manuals, spare keys and a service record spanning RUF Automobile, Porsche Centers and specialists in the UK, Germany and South Africa, plus a full restoration by Black Falcon in Meuspath between 2015 and 2019 that cost more than EUR 25,000. The obvious caveat is that a specification this personal narrows the pool of buyers to people who truly love it. For the right person, that's the whole point. View Listing

The MC20 Icona Tells a Tale of Maserati History You’ve Never Heard About

The MC20 Icona Tells a Tale of Maserati History You’ve Never Heard About

It’s no accident that you see the spitting image of a Maserati MC12 Stradale in this Maserati MC20. This is precisely the vision that the Maserati Fuoriserie team conceived when creating the MC20 Icona. One of only twenty produced globally, with eight in the United States, the 2025 Maserati MC20 Icona is more than a graphics package. In fact, the Icona is an autobiography of Maserati history encapsulated within a carbon fiber monocoque. The MC12 Stradale is not the first time Maserati has used a blue & white color scheme. In 2004, Maserati returned to auto racing for the first time in 37 years with the MC12 Corsa and Trofeo Light. Abiding by FIA homologation rules for the GT Championship class, they produced 50 road-legal MC12 “Stradale” variants. To celebrate Maserati’s racing heritage, the iconic blue and white livery was chosen as a nod to the American Camoradi Scuderia team. GALLERY-EMBED Camoradi raced a Maserati Tipo 61 “Birdcage” during the 1960 World Sports Car Championship season, winning the 1,000KM Nürburgring race with lead driver Stirling Moss. The Camoradi car was painted in white with a blue nose that gracefully tapered into a single stripe down the center of the body, continuing onto the rear of the vehicle. The Camoradi car successfully led laps in every race of the season, cementing it as the most recognizable “Birdcage”. It's easy to see why Maserati chose the Camoradi colors for the roadgoing MC12 to honor their return to the track.   The MC20 Icona’s livery is remarkably similar to the MC12 Stradale, with a large blue split-stripe encompassing the lower portion of the car, arching up around the rear decklid to emulate the blue wing found on the MC12. In a deviation from tradition, the MC20 Icona uses both historic Blu Stradale gloss paint and the modern Bianco Audace Matte body paint. This unmistakable detail clearly distinguishes the Icona from the Stradale, especially as the sun shines on the Bianco Audace paintwork, highlighting a blue flake. Beyond the paintwork, the Maserati Fuoriserie team included many bespoke details. The trident emblem theme echoes throughout the car with the Icona-specific 20” Trident Wheels and Trident air vent on the engine lid. The model designation featured in front of the butterfly doors rests directly above an Italian flag, a nod to the MC12 and a commitment to the celebration of Italian heritage. The painted hood accents mimic the shadow cast by front louver strakes on the hood of the MC12. GALLERY-EMBED The Icona theme continues to the interior, with lightweight racing seats that contrast the full Alcantara interior. Blue seat inserts are adorned with silver lining, a style cue taken from the MC12's dark blue leather interior. A blue stitched Trident and Icona script crowns the black headrest, the only time the “Icona” label is printed on the car. Matte finish carbon fiber surrounds the cockpit touchpoints, found on the steering wheel, paddle shifters, center console, and door sills. The MC20 Icona elegantly surprises the driver with bespoke touches the more time spent around it. The Icona tribute expands on the forgotten racing history of the Maserati Marque, with an homage to arguably their most iconic model. It is worth noting that the Icona has a sister car, the MC20 Leggenda, which sports a revival of the black & mint livery of the MC12 GTI of the Vitaphone racing team. Like the Icona, there are only 20 units of the Leggenda globally.   The MC20 Icona and MC12 have shared concours and social media feeds together, but rarely, if ever, have they been reunited with their "Birdcage" history in person. That is until this past July, when the MC20 Icona, shown by Maserati of Seattle, and the Tipo 61 in Camoradi livery presented by Velocity Invitational shared the red carpet at Avants Classics on The Green in Washington State. The MC12 missed the event by 1 year, having been on display in 2025, for what would have truly been a historic moment for Maserati.Available at Maserati of Seattle, this 2025 Maserati MC20 Icona is the perfect addition to a Maserati or historic racing enthusiast’s stable. The Best Manual Transmission Cars For Sale

The Best Manual Transmission Cars For Sale

There’s no replacement for a manual transmission, and we doubt one will ever come about. There’s a reason it’s the hill that automotive purists everywhere are willing to die on, there just isn’t anything like the feeling of driving stick shift cars. Even as transmission technology evolves, and many automatic counterparts shift faster and even offer options and driving modes to allow us to do much of what was only able to be done on a manual, the best manual transmission cars continue to shine among enthusiasts even when they might not perform as well, for the simple reason that they are so authentic to being drivers’ cars. As time goes on and the industry continues to move away from manual transmissions, manual transmission cars for sale are going to be hard to find new. If you’re looking for the best manuals, your best bet will definitely be used manual transmission cars. If that sounds like something you’re interested in, and you don’t quite know where to start, we’ve come in clutch (pun intended) and put together our favorites, so you can start your search with what we think are the best manual transmission cars. For many drivers, feeling in control, more engaged, and simply doing things the old-fashioned way make driving stick shift worth it. However, other advantages include the fact that you can choose when you shift up or down, for example coming in and out of corners, and in some cases, like that of the current-generation Porsche 911 GT3, the fact that the manual transmission version boasts a slightly higher top speed. What are the disadvantages of driving manual transmission cars? Many manual transmission drivers will tell you that the biggest disadvantage to manual transmissions comes when you're stuck in traffic, constantly having to go in and out of gear as you inch forward through a jam. However, who likes traffic anyway? Other disadvantages are the obvious learning curve for new stick shift drivers, reduced access to some of the latest automotive safety systems, and in plenty of cases, slower acceleration. Drivers simply can't shift themselves as fast as the latest automatic transmissions from many performance car manufacturers, but many drivers still prefer the old-school feeling. Can you still buy a manual transmission car? Of course! Manual transmission cars are certainly an endangered species and have been for some time, but there are still plenty of manual transmission cars for sale available on the market, both new and used. If you're looking for a brand-new sports car, look to models like the Porsche 911 or 718, many of whose variants still offer a manual transmission. A peek at the secondhand market, especially on duPont REGISTRY, the source for supercars since 1985, will show you a whole world of the manual transmission supercars of the past, for example, the Audi R8, Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, and more are still available, although not the easiest to find. By Tyler Rampersaud –  September 08, 2026

The Best Green On Tan Cars For Sale

Cars have been around for well over a century, and in that time, they have made themselves an important part of history and have earned a history of their own. Many aspects of cars, whether it be powertrains, performance, transmission, style, or otherwise, have attained special meaning and forged legacies in the automotive world, whether it be the rear-mounted engine of the Porsche 911, the red color of many Ferraris, or the V12 engine of Pagani's hypercars. However, there is a color combination with timeless style, worldwide appeal, and a rich history: green on tan. Tracing its roots to the traditional color of British racing, green paintwork and tan, beige, or brown leather remain an iconic and beautiful combination. Whether it's the traditional dark British Racing Green, or brighter shades like Lamborghini's Verde Mantis, or even Porsche's Aventurine Green, green and tan is a no-brainer when it comes to creating a beautiful car. If you're missing one of the automotive world's most iconic color combinations, the time is now to get your hands on a green-on-tan car. duPont REGISTRY has been the source for supercars since 1985, and it's certainly the place to find a stunning green-on-tan car for sale. Two Manual-Converted Murciélago Roadsters For Sale at Earth MotorCars

By Khris Bharath –  September 08, 2026

Two Manual-Converted Murciélago Roadsters For Sale at Earth MotorCars

For a brief period back in the 2000s, a naturally aspirated V12, all-wheel drive, an open roof, and a metal-gated manual could coexist in one Lamborghini. Two Murciélago Roadsters currently listed by Earth MotorCars recreate that formula from opposite sides of this mid-engine Italian exotic's mid-cycle divide. The first car is the 2005 Murciélago Roadster, finished in Oro Adonis over Blu Vela and shows 7,460 miles. The second is a 2008 Murciélago LP640 Roadster, finished in Bianco Isis, featuring Q-Citura interior trim, with 12,806 miles. Both feature six-speed manual conversions by European Auto Group, replacing their original E-Gear controls with a clutch pedal, conventional lever, and exposed shift gate. The 2005 car represents the first-generation, 6.2-liter Murciélago in its purest form. Its V12 produces 572 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Lamborghini quoted 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds and a top speed near 199 mph. A gated six-speed was originally standard, while the E-Gear automated manual was an optional extra. The Roadster was more than a roofless coupé, with structural reinforcement, automatic rollover protection, and unique bodywork. Its temporary fabric roof carried a recommended 100-mph speed limit for driving with the top in place. The LP640 marked a substantial evolution of the flagship V12 Lambo styled by Luc Donkervolke. Displacement rose to 6.5 liters, while output climbed to 631 horsepower, and torque rose to 487 pound-feet. Lamborghini also revised the transmission, differential, brakes, suspension, cooling, electronics, and exhaust. The Roadster could now hit 62 mph in 3.4 seconds and roughly 205 mph. Sharper bumpers, larger intakes, revised lighting, a deeper diffuser, and an enormous center-mounted exhaust visually distinguish the second-generation car. Rarity is what underpins the appeal of both cars in this pairing. Lamborghini built 4,099 Murciélagos in total, while Volkswagen's annual figures account for 899 Roadsters. Of those, 435 were produced during 2004-2006 and 464 during 2007-2010, although the latter figure includes the 50 LP650-4 Roadsters. Exact derivative totals for each variant remain disputed among registries. Regardless, genuine factory manuals are scarcer still, and by a wide margin. Our comprehensive guide to factory manuals and aftermarket conversions estimates 25 to 30 manual 6.2-liter Roadsters and 16 manual LP640 Roadsters worldwide. We have also previously spotlighted the rare factory-manual LP640 coupé, the LP670-4 SV, and the LP640 Roadster. While the examples seen here are aftermarket conversions and do not carry factory-manual provenance, they still deliver the same fundamental three-pedal experience along with collector appeal. To give you some context about where values sit at today, the Gen 1 Roadster's duPont REGISTRY Index (dRi) value has climbed from approximately $210,000 in 2020 to $844,625 in 2026, an increase of $634,625, or 302.2 percent. duPont REGISTRY Garage is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Start tracking your collector car portfolio value today Conventional E-Gear LP640 Roadsters have typically traded in the high-$300,000s to low-$400,000s.  Aftermarket manual conversions have historically occupied a lower price tier than factory-gated Murciélago. However, these cars have become a meaningful category within the Murciélago market. Last month, a 2008 LP640 Roadster six-speed conversion sold for $701,000 on Bring a Trailer, representing a significant result and highlighting a growing demand for properly documented conversions. The 2005 offers the original Murciélago's cleaner form and 6.2-liter character, whereas the 2008 counters with greater performance and harder-edged styling. Both embrace an increasingly unrepeatable experience: three pedals, an exposed gate, and the open sky to better savor the full evocative soundtrack from 12 cylinders firing at full chat. Elferspot Spotlight: Three Porsches That Keep Their Best Details Hidden

By duPont REGISTRY –  September 04, 2026

Elferspot Spotlight: Three Porsches That Keep Their Best Details Hidden

Some weeks the three cars line up so neatly you could write the headline before you write the piece. A color story, a Paint to Sample run, a decade. This week refused to cooperate. What came out of the Elferspot listings was a Guards Red air-cooled Turbo, a silver 904 with a competition record most museums would envy, and a black 911 Dakar. On paper, nothing connects them. Spend a few minutes with each one, and the link shows up anyway. Not one of these cars tells you what it is from twenty feet away. The Turbo reads as a nice red 993 until you get into the option codes. The 904 reads as a 904 until you read the entry lists. The Dakar has quietly declined the livery that sells most of them. All three keep the interesting material below the surface, in the paperwork, the build sheet, or the seats, and that is exactly the kind of car worth slowing down for. 1964 Porsche 904 Carrera GTS, Chassis 080 GALLERY-EMBED Chassis 904-080 does not need the usual preamble about why the 904 matters. Gianni Bulgari watched Briggs Cunningham race one at Sebring in early 1964, then bought this car straight from Porsche that spring. Weeks later, he and Maurizio Grana were leading the Targa Florio outright before suspension damage ended the run. Porsche repaired the car at the factory, and in June, Bulgari took it to the old Mugello road circuit and won. There was a win at Vallelunga too, and further podiums, before the car crossed the Atlantic and Sam Posey got hold of it. In February 1966, Posey shared 080 with Jim Haynes and Harry Theodoracopulos for eleventh overall at the Daytona 24 Hours. Racing Sports Cars records period entries at all of it independently, which matters, because history this good is worth checking rather than repeating. The present-day picture is just as interesting. The car has stayed with its current owner since 1988, was inspected by Porsche specialist Jochen Bader in May of this year, and is now European-tax-paid and road registered. It also comes with two engines. A RUF-rebuilt six-cylinder is fitted for use, while the original-style Typ 587/3 four-cam, rebuilt by Dr. Pohl, comes with the car. Be honest about what that means: the four-cam is central to the whole 904 concept, the bonded fiberglass body over a pressed-steel chassis, Porsche's first production car built that way, and the six in the back is a practicality decision rather than a purist one. Some buyers will want it swapped back on day one. Others will drive it exactly as it sits and be glad of it. Porsche records 106 four-cylinder cars, and this is one of the ones with a story attached, so the argument is really about how you plan to use it, not whether it is worth having. View Listing 1995 Porsche 911 Turbo WLS1 GALLERY-EMBED Guards Red on an air-cooled 911 is not news. What sits underneath it here is. This 993 Turbo left the factory in December 1995 with the X50/WLS1 power package, which took the 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six to 430 PS through a six-speed manual and all-wheel drive, and Porsche confirms that increase arrived with the 1996 model year. It was then specified further through Porsche Exclusive: XD7 for the front strut brace, XD9 for body-colored wheel centers, X70 for the stainless steel Exclusive door sills, with codes 09971 and 09981 marking the Exclusive build itself. That is a much more deliberate order than a standard Turbo with a power upgrade bolted to it. The seller states 183 factory X50 cars were built. Worth keeping attributed to them rather than treating as a settled production figure. The documentation does real work rather than just filling a folder. The car was collected at the factory in Stuttgart on December 4, 1995, saw early service at Sportwagen-Center Schmidt + Koch in Bremen, and picked up an Approved Used warranty from Porsche Zentrum Hamburg in 1999. Porsche specialists handled it after that; the stamped booklet is still with the car, and a pre-sale service this year included new Michelin Pilot Sports. It shows 108,000 kilometers, has matching numbers, is accident-free, was supplied new in German-market C00 specification, and the seller describes the paint as original. That last point is the one that carries the price, and it is also the one to look at closely in person, because original paint at this mileage is a claim worth verifying with your own eyes. If it holds up, the appeal is straightforward. Factory WLS1, Exclusive specification, matching numbers and original finish rarely turn up in the same car. View Listing 2023 Porsche 911 Dakar GALLERY-EMBED Most Dakars introduce themselves from the far end of the parking lot. This one does not. Finished in plain Black L041 with the Rallye Design graphics left off, it puts the whole job on the raised ride height, the all-terrain tires and the bodywork, and it works. The mechanical package is unchanged: 480 PS from the 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six, eight-speed PDK, all-wheel drive, off-road chassis tuning and Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tires, riding 50 millimeters higher than a Carrera on sports suspension, with another 30 available from the lift system. Production stopped at 2,500. Those numbers are useful here mainly because they explain why a black car with no livery still looks nothing like a regular 992. The restraint stops at the door handle. Inside are carbon full buckets with checked fabric centers, the same material in the door inserts, and sill inscriptions reading "In doubt, never lift" and "Are you sure?". Add the carbon roof, Sport Chrono Plus, PDCC, darkened Matrix LED headlights, heated sports steering wheel, surround-view camera, and roof rack preparation. One owner, German delivery, built in November 2023 as a 2024 model year car, first registered that January, accident-free and matching numbers per the listing, with a fresh service from Porsche Heilbronn in August. The catch, if you want to call it one, is the 11,950 kilometers on the clock, which puts it outside the delivery-mileage bracket collectors tend to chase. I would argue that is the point. This is a Dakar that someone has actually used, kept up to date at Porsche, and specified with a sense of humor rather than a spec sheet aimed at resale. View Listing

The Best V12 Cars For Sale

Whether it’s an expression of luxury or performance, V12 engines have represented automotive excellence for decades. Their robust performance, unique sound, and overall driving quality have made them an excellent choice for top-of-the-line luxury vehicles and supercars all over the world and throughout much of automotive history. However, the automotive industry is changing, and electrification means that we are seeing V12 engines be replaced by hybrid powertrains with smaller engines, or being completely swapped with electric drivetrains. That said, despite the dwindling production of V12 engines throughout the automotive industry, it continues to have respect and appeal among enthusiasts, as well as objective excellence for its performance and marvel as an engine. As V12 cars fade from the automotive industry, their historical value as symbols of luxury and performance are bound to give them even more cachet as the years pass. Below are some of the best V12-powered cars available for sale. For more exotic and luxury cars for sale, click below.
