John Hennessey, the founder and CEO of Hennessey Special Vehicles, has just reached a significant milestone with the Venom F5 Coupe hypercar, reaching an impressive half-mile speed of 219.07 mph. This result, verified through Racelogic VBOX satellite telemetry and Dragy performance data, highlights the Venom F5’s exceptional performance capabilities. Hennessey Test driver David Donohue recorded an even higher speed of 221.92 mph during the same test.
Hennessey took the Venom F5 Coupe for one of the half-mile runs, which revealed an acceleration time of just 6.81 seconds from 100 to 200 mph. This speed wasn’t anticipated initially but was discovered through the manufacturer’s data review. John Hennessey expressed his satisfaction with the results, mentioning the hypercar’s impressive power and suggesting that even faster speeds might be possible under different conditions.
The update comes shortly after a drag race comparison involving the Rimac Nevera and Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, where the Venom F5 outpaced both. Performance was achieved under challenging conditions, including a dusty surface and high temperatures. The Venom F5 Coupe, fitted with a 6.6L twin-turbo V8 engine producing 1,817 bhp, has shown strong performance on both road and track. Hennessey’s continued focus on speed and performance aims to further push the limits of what is possible with hypercars.
