New Gemballa GT Concept Throws Down Hypercar Numbers

Heading to SEMA 2017 is the new Gemballa GT Concept that is promised to throw down performance numbers you’d expect from a hypercar.

The Gemballa GT is based on the Porsche 991 Turbo, as is made apparent from the car’s silhouette. Its exterior has been modified, but it was done tastefully so. The most obvious exterior modification is the large rear wing made from carbon fiber.

What’s really important is the amount of power the GT Concept can throw down. Normally, the Porsche’s 3.8-liter boxer biturbo engine will produce 540 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque. Gemballa didn’t like those numbers, so their engine technicians increase the power all the way up to a staggering 828 hp and 702 lb-ft. That amount of power in a car as well-engineered as this one amounts to a 0-62 mph time of 2.38 seconds and a top speed of well over 224 mph. Those are the kinds of numbers you’d expect from a hypercar!

Guests at SEMA 2017 in Las Vegas can view the car for themselves at the Toyo Tire stand and in the foyer of the South Hall area.
