The war of luxury SUV’s has reached new heights thanks to Audi’s new Q8. It was formally launched in a press release by Audi USA last night. The conservative styling of the Q3 and Q7 is gone. They are still viable options for those who want a midsize model, but this Q8 is downright mean looking.
Under the hood is an all-new 3.0 liter V6. It uses the same turbo technology as other Audis, with twins nestled in the hot-side, with reverse flow cylinder heads.
It offers 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque through an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic. Standard equipment includes the 48-volt mild hybrid system. It stores energy when braking to help boost acceleration.
