At a pace more rapid than many other brands within the automotive industry, Audi is expanding its fleet of all-electric vehicles. Now that the manufacturer’s financial results have come in for the first quarter of 2023, Audi credits its expanded line of electric vehicles for an impressive achievement: three consecutive quarters of year-over-year sales growth. For quite some time, the automotive industry has been challenged by supply crises, but the past three quarters have shown that Audi has managed to experience sucess and growth, with 52,763 deliveries taking place in Q1 2023, a 49% increase over Q1 2022.
Compared to the first quarter of 2022, sales of battery-electric vehicles increased by 37% in Q1 2023. Making this past quarter the one with the best-ever electric vehicle sales for Audi. Since then, the new Q4 e-tron and Q4 e-tron Sportback have been introduced to Audi’s model lineup, and now for the 2024 model year, the original Audi e-tron SUV has been renamed to become the Q8 e-tron, with the introduction of the Q8 e-tron Sportback to go with. The introduction of more electric models to Audi’s lineup has proved successful, and as the year gets off to a great start, Audi is optimistic about even more success for the remaining three quarters.
