Audi’s upcoming F1 entry secures new talent.
Audi is making a big move in the motorsport world very soon, and that will be the historic luxury manufacturer’s entry into the world of Formula 1. Partnering with Sauber in the effort, a legend in the F1 racing world, Audi is planning to make a splash when it enters the Formula 1 grid in 2026.
Recently, Audi announced former Formula 1 team head Mattia Binotto as Chief Operating and Chief Technical Officer at Sauber Motorsport AG, taking a serious leadership position in the new Formula 1 efforts, and a new Team Principal has been announced for the upcoming Audi Formula 1 team: Jonathan Wheatley.
With a F1 career beginning in the early 1990s, Wheatley has been involved in all six Constructor’s Championship and all seven Driver’s World Championship titles won by Red Bull Racing. He will also serve as the management spokesperson for the new team. With the management of team consisting of Wheatley and Binotto, and their decades of combined and highly successful experience in Formula 1, Audi’s entry into the prestigious series is something to look out for.
