Bentley celebrates 60, 40, and 20 years of sedan history.
Every brand has moments that quietly redefine its identity, and for Bentley, 2025 marks three of them. The brand is celebrating the anniversaries of the 1965 T Series, 1985 Turbo R, and 2005 Continental Flying Spur. To honor that lineage, Bentley’s in-house coachbuilder, Mulliner, has configured three one-off Flying Spurs, each reimagining its predecessor’s spirit with subtle touches to the past. The originals, all part of Bentley’s Heritage Collection, still live and breathe on the Crewe campus as reminders of how the four-door Bentley has evolved from stately touring car to grand touring powerhouse.

The 1965 T Series marked a new era for Bentley. It was the brand’s first sedan built with monocoque construction. Its designer, John Blatchley, gave it a lower, narrower, and somehow more spacious design than its predecessor. Mulliner’s 2025 Flying Spur Azure tribute captures that same refinement. Painted in a remastered Shell Grey, it mirrors the tone of the first production T Series, VIN 0001, right down to its blue-grey leather and Burr Walnut trim. It’s also quietly modern, powered by a 670-horsepower hybrid drivetrain that rides in silence, proving Bentley’s idea of effortless power hasn’t changed in 60 years—just how it’s delivered.

By 1985, Bentley was ready to wake up the world again. The Turbo R was the car that reminded people Bentley could build something with true performance. Its 6.75L turbocharged V8, tauter suspension, and aggressive stance earned the respect of both chauffeurs and drivers. Based on the Flying Spur Speed, Mulliner’s modern-day interpretation revives that swagger with Brooklands Green paint, a Monaco Yellow coachline, and just enough brightwork to make it pop. Inside, linen and Cumbrian Green hides meet Burr Walnut veneers split by a fine chrome line. The powertrain, a 770-horsepower hybrid system, makes the old Turbo R’s seven-second sprint to 62 mph look quaint, but it’s unmistakably Bentley.

The youngest of the trio, the 2005 Continental Flying Spur, was Bentley’s first four-door built for the modern era. It was fast, comfortable, and elegant, and the first sedan from Crewe capable of 200 mph. Mulliner’s homage to it takes a similar approach: less replication, more reflection. Finished in Cypress Green with Saddle pinstriping, the new Flying Spur Speed captures the richness of the original. Inside, Special Green hides with Saddle accents and polished Burr Walnut bridge the early 2000s with 2025. The three Flying Spurs form a living timeline of Bentley’s craft and a legacy that’s still moving forward.
