Bentley revives its history at Goodwood.
Bentley is known for its current lineup of ultra-luxury vehicles and for boasting a 105-year history of automotive excellence, including groundbreaking performance cars, victorious racing machines, and incredible luxury creations. One of Bentley’s most cherished legacies is that of the Speed Six, a Le Mans winner and one of the most successful Bentley race cars ever.
Thanks to detailed records, Mulliner’s dedication to bespoke craftsmanship, and state-of-the-art 3D rendering, Bentley has recreated the Speed Six, using techniques and materials as faithful to the original 1930 car as possible. The new Speed Six Continuation Series model made its global dynamic debut this past weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
After enduring an intense testing cycle, the new Bentley Speed Six Continuation Series Car Zero emerged with thousands of miles driven, hours raced at a time at the Goodwood Circuit, and approvals earned from the FIA Appendix K regulations for the car to participate in races. The iconic Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb was where the historic car showed off its racing ability to the public, and the glorious and successful debut marks the completion of its testing cycle.
Now, Mulliner Classic has begun work on the 12 customer examples of the Bentley Speed Six Continuation Series that are set to be built. Combining historic techniques with modern advancements in engineering and technology, the new Bentley Speed Six Continuation Series runs on regular unleaded fuel, with new tires that feature tread patterns that are accurate to its historic period over 90 years ago. With robust performance and remarkable durability, Bentley has brought history to life with an exclusive new (yet old) model.
