    Watch A 3,000HP Drag Race Between A 911 Turbo S, R8 & GT-R

There are a few performance cars that have the distinction of setting standards in the performance world and exemplifying the character of a well-engineered car when it comes to speed and track domination. Three of them are the Porsche 911 Turbo S, the Audi R8, and the Nissan GT-R. While all three have different approaches to high performance, what each has achieved has helped define the makings of a fast car in today’s automotive world. All three employ advanced all-wheel drive systems to get power down to the ground and help propel them explosively forward, but the 911 Turbo S’s rear-mounted twin-turbocharged flat-six, the Audi R8’s midship naturally aspirated V10, and the Nissan GT-R’s front-mounted twin-turbocharged V6 differentiate them. However, these specific cars brought together for a drag race by Carwow in the UK, are even more different, with increased power thanks to tuning.
The 911 Turbo S boasts 900 horsepower, while the Audi R8 has 950 thanks to the installation of a twin-turbocharger, and the Nissan GT-R has 1,000, making for a total of nearly 3,000 horsepower. While on paper, the GT-R might seem like the clear winner due to its higher power, other factors like weight and weight distribution are bound to affect the actual results. The GT-R won the first standing-start race, but it was by an incredibly close margin against the 911 Turbo S, with the same thing happening for another standing-start race. While lightweight construction and high power can be a formidable combination, the even higher power of the Nissan GT-R managed to succeed over the incredible 911 Turbo S. Especially on the track, the three of these cars are close contenders and examples of peak performance.
