The design ethos of the Bolide was to make the lightest car possible with the powerful W16 engine, and that idea near-instantly sparked the interest of customers who ordered all 40 allocations. Measured in metric horsepower to kilograms, the Bolide has an incredible power-to-weight ratio of greater than 1. However, that’s just the beginning of its engineering splendor. Aerodynamics and downforce are some of the most important aspects of a car made for the race track, and it’s through lap after lap of on-track testing that Bugatti is fine-tuning the perfect amount of downforce and the perfect aerodynamic setup for the car.
As Bugatti has undergone this testing, the results are already incredible, with 2.5 lateral Gs and almost three tons of downforce achieved. As Bugatti continues to show off the development of this unfathomable machine, its unprecedented engineering, immense power, and honored pedigree justify its incredibly exclusive 40-unit production run and price of roughly $4.29 million.
