Now, more than half of a century later, the car is making itself known again. Purchased by Michael Stehle, the 340 Spider has been filmed beautifully thanks to Petrolicious. “I searched for a car to compete in the Mille Miglia. It was quite a long process to find the right car…so I searched, but there was one problem, how to convince my wife?” said Michael Stehle in the video's description. “I convinced her to come with me…I showed her the car…‘Wait, wait, let’s start the engine’— ‘OK, you can start the engine’,” she said back. After hearing the car, she gave the okay to make the purchase.
In January, at Bonham's Scottsdale auction, the 340 Spider will be making another appearance as it crosses the block, looking for a new owner. Who will drive away with this history race car?
