Hitting 221 mph in a Porsche 911 GT2 RS on the Autobahn
Purists cried foul, as only the sacred 911 Turbo models should actually arrive with forced induction, but the rest of us cheered the availability of 370 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque in the base model cars. Naturally aspirated fans have embraced the GT3 and its wild RS version thanks to 500 horsepower and 9,000 rpm. And if you want the biggest turbos, the GT2 RS offers 700 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque. So where does Porsche go from here? The answer is in a new 911 series which will be known as the 992. We don't know much at this point in terms of engine or chassis innovations, but a curious image was uploaded to Instagram this morning by @ptsgt4.
Speculation on their innovations includes more carbon fiber, less weight, and it looks like styling could be influenced by the Panamera. Save this image before it disappears, and tell us what you are looking forward to in the Porsche 911 Series 992.
