Ford GT's "Dashboard of the Future" Previewed

Dashboards may not be exciting to most people, but when they're as cool as the new 2017 Ford GT's, they ought to be.Coming in the new American supercar is a 10-inch digital instrument display that Ford says will "quickly and easily presents information to the driver, based on five special driving modes." These modes include Normal, Wet, Sport, Track and V-Max.(Also Check Out - Remember This Car: First 2017 Ford GT Rolls Off Assembly Line)“Driver focus and attention are key with such high performance,” said Jamal Hameedi, chief engineer, Ford Performance. “We’ve designed the GT with a sleek digital instrument display that changes depending on driving mode in ways that are important and usable to the driver.”Here is how each mode will be displayed, according to Ford: Normal mode displays information in a purposeful, businesslike manner. The theme is simple; the speedometer is centered and bold, gear selection is to the right, fuel and temperature are top left. The hockey-stick-shaped tachometer displays in a compressed scale for lower rpm, as the engine revs so quickly the lower counts mean almost nothing to the driver. The 3,000-to-7,000-rpm range dominates the top of the display Wet mode carries many of the same information concepts over from normal mode, using a blue theme and a “wet floor” concept. Graphics under the speedometer emulate the shine of wet asphalt to remind the driver of the mode selection Sport mode adjusts information priorities. Front and center is gear selection, with the speedometer off to the right and less prominent. It’s displayed in an aggressive orange theme and is the preferred mode for most test drivers Track mode presents a stark combination of black background and highly legible text and graphics, in a crisp, red theme that’s easy for the eye to pick up in a fast-paced environment. Gear selection and engine speed are displayed prominently, while coolant temperature, oil pressure, oil temperature and fuel level – rendered as a percentage rather than miles to empty – are bottom right V-Max offers an entirely different display – purposeful and pared down. Specifically tailored to pursuing maximum top speed, it displays a large, centered speedometer, with tachometer reduced to just a line with indicator dot for minimal distraction. Coolant temperature, oil pressure, oil temperature and turbocharger boost are displayed to the right, with fuel level displayed top left Ford GTs For Sale

Dodge Teases the 2018 Challenger Demon, More Powerful Tha...

If you are growing bored of your Hellcat, Dodge has something even more powerful for the New York Auto Show. In a YouTube video uploaded this morning, an evil creature is seen escaping from a cage. A hellish cat undergoes a metamorphosis to unleash an inner Demon, who summons SRT fans to a new landing page. The first of a dozen scheduled videos, each one has a countdown clock ticking away until the formal reveal. With much of the US in the depths of winter, April seems far away. But we can already feel the heat. Maybe this signals an increase of displacement. Who wouldn't want to see the return of the 426 HEMI? Sending that power to the ground will require massive tires, so check out the flared fenders! Teaser From SRTA soundtrack of Fuel by Metallica is appropriate, given the Hellcat's 1/2" fuel lines. Engineers at the SRT division shocked the world with 707 reliable horsepower from a supercharged 6.2 liter HEMI V8. We know it is capable of more because our friend John Hennessey added twin turbos to build the HPE1000. With a name as irreverent as Demon, we pray for more details of the beast. Domestic but not domesticated is their tag line, and fans have embraced the ability to be bad. On the bright side, if the Demon is a significant increase in power, expect to find very competitive pricing on used Hellcats. And you know where to find them! Stay with us for more demonic updates.Used Challenger Hellcat For Sale

VW I.D. Buzz is a New Electric Bus

If you thought retro was over with, get ready for a modern Microbus. Volkswagen has set their sights on a zero-emission future, so get your surfboard ready for a battery powered cruise to the beach. The original Type 2 van was introduced in 1950 and the design was so revolutionary it remained in production (in Brazil) into late 2013. Embraced by the counterculture whose parents drove domestic cars and who fought to liberate Europe, the Microbus was low on power but big on style. Well-restored examples have been selling for record numbers, so its prime time for them to relive the 60's.In the original model, the flat engine allowed for ample interior room, and that concept has remained. But batteries and two electric motors have replaced the air-cooled flat four. An expected range of 270 miles and all-wheel drive are strong selling points, as long as the Westfalia camper remains relegated to the history books. The press release states that VW is in the early stages of a big electric offensive, which will culminate in one million electric vehicles annually. Sharing a modular architecture with other forthcoming products, the I.D. Buzz is the first AWD electric to connect front and rear motors with a driveshaft. With seating for eight and two luggage compartments, you will have ample room for a road trip.A fully autonomous mode is known as "I.D. Pilot" will allow the front seats to swivel 180 degrees so that front passengers can face rearward. To make the I.D. Buzz appealing to all electric enthusiasts, the RWD only model would offer 268 hp with an 83 kw battery, and the AWD will have a combined output of 369 hp with an 111 kw battery. We are excited about more zero-emission cars coming to market, so let us know if this concept sparks your interest in the comments below. Stay with us for more VW news.Sports Cars For Sale

Bugatti Veyron vs Rimac Concept One

In the near future, electric hypercars might spell the end of cars powered by fuel alone. Concept One by Rimac makes use of one Megawatt of -battery power and four electric motors for serious performance. The front pair have a single speed gear reduction built into the motors, but the rears have an innovative two-speedd dual clutch gearbox on each side. Torque vectoring is the process of delivering more power to the outer wheels while cornering. In normal cars this is done at the differential or by the brake rotors, but either way it involves a mechanical connection. Since the Concept One has independent control of power at each wheel, their version of torque vectoring is accomplished instantly by the motor itself. At a full charge, the system offers 1,088 hp and 1,180 lb-ft of torque to the pavement. To show off the potency of the design, Rimac's chief test driver Miro Zrncevic took to a closed course against a Bugatti Veyron. Riding shotgun is William Herbert, the 18th Earl of Pembroke. His car collection knows no bounds, so perhaps he sees a Rimac as his next acquisition. The opponent is almost evenly matched, with the Veyron Super Sport offering 1,100 lb-ft of torque and 1,200 metric horsepower. Bugatti has a weight advantage of 30 lbs, but that is insignificant at these levels of power. The world needs more thousand horsepower cars, so we hope Rimac brings the concept one to its fruition. In the meantime we have a few Veyrons to choose from, so click on the link below and stay with us for more wild comparisons. All Bugatti For Sale

Nissan Unveils Stunning Vmotion 2.0 Concept

Everyone loves a glimpse of the future, so Nissan has pulled the wraps off their latest concept at the North American Auto Show. As a preview of styling which will appear on upcoming models, Vmotion 2.0 has innovative and appealing aspects. Debuted alongside the new Rogue Sport, the pair made for a press pandemonium. Nissan has sold over 1.5 million vehicles for two consecutive years, and styling has much to do with the success.(Related - Audi Reveals Bizarre-Looking Q8 Concept)Up front, the Vmotion 2.0 grille makes the corporate logo seem to float in 3D. Air inlets that will hopefully be functional on production cars are meant to evoke the "emotional geometry" design language. This involves crisp lines and sharp angles to make the long wheelbase sedan appear smaller than it is.A panoramic roof stretches from windshield to trunk lid, for a "floating roof" design. The A-pillars and roof frame are one piece from dash to trunk. It is a bold move, but often times these fail to meet federal rollover tests. Boomerang tail lights are another cue to emphasize the width of the car. A nice finishing touch is a rear diffuser with subtle LED lighting. Having such a bold shape down low will help with safety at night. Chief Creative Officer and Executive VP Shiro Nakamura stated in the press release: "Technology is evolving. SoChief Creative Officer and Executive VP Shiro Nakamura stated in the press release: "Technology is evolving. So is design. At Nissan we see design as the ultimate expression of how customer see themselves, but also an expression of the vision and values of our brand,". "Vmotion 2.0 previews what the future designs from Nissan will be. And it is an insightful proposition of what the future sedan could be in the coming years."Search Sports Cars For Sale

Dodge Challenger Hellcat vs Ford Mustang GT350

Many Police departments choose to run Ford vehicles due to reliability and performance, not only in the US, but around the world. We don't condone evading the law, but the only acceptable cars for outrunning an interceptor are Junior Johnson's 1940 Ford or a Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Our friends in the Netherlands have been planning this comparison for some time, since the Shelby GT350 is a rare car in Europe. It makes 526 hp at a screaming 8,200 rpm. The main disadvantage of the flat-plane engine is only 429 lb-ft of torque. In order to leave the fuzz in the dust, any habitual offender should consider the Challenger Hellcat. It offers 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.Numbers don't lie, but the Dodge has a weight penalty of almost 800 lbs. Applying such tremendous power on anything other than a straight line has been problematic, and compared to the carbon fiber wheels on the GT350, it's safe to say the Police have an advantage in the corners. If you are a Mopar fan, you should watch the 1971 film "Vanishing Point". It will put the Hellcat's abilities into perspective. We applaud the American loving nature of this film from hartvoorautosNL, and we look forward to more great comparisons from them. Our dealers will help you find the perfect Mustang or Challenger for you, so please take a look at the listings below.Search Shelby GT350 For Sale
