Limited-Run Mercedes-AMG GT 63 'APXGP Edition' Unveiled A...

With the 2025 Miami Grand Prix weekend upon us, Mercedes-AMG has taken the wraps off the GT 63 “APXGP Edition”, a limited-run coupe that celebrates the upcoming Apple Originals film, F1. Starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, and directed by Joseph Kosinski (who also directed Top Gun: Maverick), was shot during actual Grand Prix weekends. Pitt plays a retired driver pulled back into the high-stakes world of Formula 1, mentoring a young talent portrayed by Idris. Lewis Hamilton served as one of the producers, while Mercedes-AMG played a key role in production, from supplying track-ready AMG models, including an AMG SL, G-Class, GT, and FIA safety and medical cars, to helping with the crafting of the movie’s fictional racing team, APXGP. The race cars featured in the film, convincingly wrapped by Mercedes to look like F1 cars, are built on a Formula 2 chassis.  This brings us to the special edition road car. The AMG GT 63 APXGP Edition borrows heavily from the fictional race team. Painted matte black with race gold accents surrounding the AMG-specific grille, it wears a chequered flag motif behind the front fender vents and is set against contrasting matte race gold 21-inch forged wheels. The carbon-fibre aero-kit, made up of splitters, sills, rear diffuser, and a fixed rear wing, is shared with top-tier AMG packages. As part of the extended Night Edition Package, black chrome now features on the radiator grille, the AMG crest, and the three-pointed star on the rear.   Inside the race gold theme continues, with carbon fiber trim, black Nappa leather, and microfiber suede on the seats and steering, set against gold contrast stitching on the door panels, instrument panel, and the center armrest. It doesn’t stop there as the door sill trims feature AMG lettering that is backlit in gold, and the floor mats come with a leather insert embroidered with the APXGP logo in race gold. On the tech front, you get a high-end 15-speaker 1,170-watt Burmester audio system and a data logger that comes with the AMG Track pack. Just 52 examples of this special edition will be made worldwide, and each will come with a numbered badge that showcases the car’s exclusivity.  As for performance, this sports car may be movie-themed, but it still packs a hand-built 4.0-liter Bi-turbo V8 with 577 horsepower, which gets you to 60 mph in just over 3.0 seconds. Throw in all-wheel drive, active suspension, a front-axle lift system, rear wheel-steering, and carbon ceramic brakes, and you’ve got yourself a fantastic grand tourer that can also do duty on track. Mercedes-AMG hasn’t announced pricing for the APXGP Edition, but considering the standard GT63 coupe starts just shy of $180,000, this limited run model targeting collectors should cost more. For fans, expect high-octane drama in the film F1, which is set to hit theaters internationally on June 25 and June 27 in North America. View All Mercedes-AMG GTs For Sale Source: Mercedes-AMG

Mercedes-AMG GT3 Takes Top Honors At Daytona

Over the weekend we watched the 59th running of the Rolex 24. Considered to be one of the most brutal endurance races on the IMSA schedule, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 took top honors at Daytona. This year was a bit strange, with 5 classes running in the same event. The GTLM (GT LeMans) is home to incredible power and aerodynamics, but the cars are very far from production models. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 is sold to the public, and it is their last car to offer the legendary 6.3-liter V8. This indestructible juggernaut was also under the hood of Mr. duPont's SLS AMG Roadster, and it never failed to take my breath away. Needless to say, cars 57 and 75 finished 1-2 on Sunday afternoon. You can experience the same engineering and aerodynamics in the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, so click the button for all the details. Mercedes-AMG GT For Sale Images (C) Daimler A.G.

Mercedes-AMG Teases Porsche for the 4-Door 'Ring Record

A few days ago Porsche announced a new record lap time: the 2021 Porsche Panamera Turbo S lapped the Nürburgring in 7:29.81. This caught the attention of the smartest engineers in Affalterbach. Two years ago, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S lapped the same historic track in 7:25:41. Both have twin-turbo V8 engines, and both sedans have four doors. That is why Mercedes-AMG just teased Porsche for the 'Ring record lap time. What it boils down to is semantics. Mercedes-AMG describes their car as a "4-Door Supercar", while Porsche says the Panamera Turbo S is an "Executive Sedan". In their latest YouTube upload, Mercedes-AMG says its time to hit the track again, with lessons learned over the last two years. If you want the Porsche, their MSRP starts at $187,700 while the AMG is $161,200. Although if you want a car that lapped the track 10 seconds faster, our dealers have several new Camaro ZL1 1LE for $65,000. Tell us which one you prefer in the comments below and stay with us for all your exotic car news. " width="680">

Mercedes-AMG Teases AMG GT Sedan With Test Photos

AMG was started by Mr. A and Mr. G. They are Mercedes-Benz engineers who were bored with what they were building. From their small garage, they began to stuff the biggest Benz engines into every model. Customers would receive ported heads, big cams, and exhaust they would fit a locomotive. The result was AMG becoming a powerhouse in the German aftermarket.Of course, they became so popular that Mercedes-Benz bought them so that their expertise could be utilized on the assembly line. The first car designed and built by AMG only was the SLS AMG. It proved to be such a potent machine that our publisher bought the first roadster when it arrived in the US.The cockpit was so far behind the nose that I felt it was prone to understeer, but it was a stunning machine finished in "Alubeam Silver". It was such a hit that they followed up with the AMG GT that includes a GT S roadster and the mean GT R. We never guessed they would have a sedan in the works, but the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-doors looks to be a CLS that is training for MMA. In a teaser press release earlier this morning, we've learned that the production car will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. A camouflaged prototype can be seen strapped to a dyno wind tunnel. Downforce is a major player in the market for luxury performance sedans, so take at these photos:It looks like a production version of the hybrid AMG concept they uploaded to YouTube last year. Rumors abound that it will be aimed at the Panamera Turbo S E Hybrid, so as soon as we have the specs you will see them here first. Mercedes-AMG GT Concept: Now With Four Doors and an Elect...

Daimler has just unveiled one heck of a doozy with the new Mercedes-AMG GT Concept. This four-door show car has a few similar styling cues to that of the current AMG GT, but with added doors and an overall new look."With the Mercedes-AMG GT Concept, we are giving a preview of our third completely independently developed sports car and are extending the attractive AMG GT family to include a four-door variant,” said Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. “The AMG GT Concept, like the AMG Hypercar, which we are presenting at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, illustrates how we are defining performance of the future at AMG."As far as the exterior goes, the rear looks like a mashup between a Porsche Panamera and the AMG GT coupe. The long, sloping rear window allows for room for the rear passengers, while the entire rear fascia mimics the AMG GT. In the front is an all-new design that could possible be found in upcoming AMG models, like new C-Series or S-Series models, but that's just an observation. Now, onto its powertrain. The AMG GT Concept displayed at Geneva houses an AMG 4.0-liter V8 Biturbo engine and an electric motor. When used in unison, this concept has a 0-60 mph sprint time of less than three seconds. That's quite the performance from a four-door sports car. There's no word as to whether or not this car will go into production. At the very least, we will most likely be seeing some aspects being borrowed from this concept in future models. All Mercedes-AMG GT For Sale

Mercedes-AMG Unveils 50th Anniversary Special Editions

Half a century ago, two former Mercedes engineers started a high-performance engine shop. They specialized in transforming production cars into supercars, and their engines proved to be so revolutionary that Mercedes began installing them on the assembly line. Success after success caught the eye of Mercedes' parent company, so Daimler purchased 51% of the business in 1999. By 2005 AMG was brought fully in-house, leading to the modern brand of Mercedes-AMG. Fifty years of anything is cause for celebration, so a few special editions are coming to the party. The star of the show will be the AMG GT Coupe and Roadster "Edition 50". Only 500 cars will be produced, and each one will be finished in designo Graphite Grey Magno. Black chrome accents on the front splitter and rocker panels carry the dark theme into the AMG Interior Night Package. The interior is awash in black accents with silver leather on the seats. No changes were made under the hood so the lucky owners will have 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque at their disposal. The 4.0 liter reverse flow twin turbo V8 offers more power per liter than almost anything else on the road, so they decided to drop it into the Mercedes-AMG C63 S. The "Ocean Blue Edition" will be limited to 150 C63 S Convertibles painted in designo Cashmere White Magno. Inside you will find deep ocean blue and matte silver with special badges and embroidery. Changes had to be made to fit the AMG engine into the C-class, so it makes 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.Last but not least is the AMG Performance Studio Package for the C43 coupe and convertible. Powered by a twin turbo 3.0 liter V6 that makes 362 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. Gloss black replaces chrome trim on the outside along with matte black wheels. Black DINAMICA microfiber and leather make for an appealing interior. Without a doubt, these special editions are among the hottest exotic cars for sale this year, so contact one of our Mercedes-AMG dealers for more information.
