World’s first Mercedes-Benz branded city By Binghatti to ...

It appears that Mercedes-Benz is no longer content with shaping the way you drive. Now the three-pointed star also wants to shape the way you live. Earlier today, a new luxury real-estate project was announced: the first Mercedes-Benz-branded city, being developed with Dubai-based Binghatti, one of the United Arab Emirates’ (U.A.E.) top developers. Known as Mercedes-Benz Places | Binghatti City, the project is planned for the Meydan district. Set against the spectacular skyline of Dubai, it will take shape as a multi-tower development, spanning roughly 9 million square feet. Now, unlike most branded towers, this project aims to function as a true “city within a city.” The masterplan brings together luxury residences with retail boulevards, cultural and leisure areas, parks, green corridors, wellness and sports zones, dining destinations, and entertainment venues in close proximity to each other. The goal is that daily needs must sit within walking distance, all tied in with intelligent mobility solutions. Futurists from the German marque have envisioned what cities of the future could look like, and this project fits that narrative. For Mercedes-Benz, this project in Dubai also marks a clear evolution of its branded real-estate strategy as part of its global roll‑out of Mercedes‑Benz Places. The company first entered this space with a 65-story residential tower in Downtown Dubai, also being developed with Binghatti. It then expanded to the United States with a project in Miami, developed alongside JDS Development Group, where construction is also in progress, and residences are already on the market.  Binghatti City pushes the concept further, into a connected district that translates brand values into urban planning, which are rooted in Mercedes-Benz’s design language of “Sensual Purity.” The philosophy, familiar to us from the brand’s automotive portfolio, emphasizes clean surfaces, visual restraint, and sculptural form.  Creating extraordinary experiences for our customers is at the core of who we are. With our next branded real estate project, ‘Mercedes-Benz Places – Binghatti City’ in Dubai, we are taking this promise to a new level – shaping destinations where our brand becomes something you can truly call home. - Mathias Geisen, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Mathias Geisen and Muhammad Binghatti sign the contract for the joint project "Mercedes-Benz Places | Binghatti City" For Binghatti, the development carries equal weight. It represents the company’s first masterplanned community, a step beyond standalone towers, expanding into large-scale urban ecosystems.  To partner once again with Mercedes‑Benz is a testament to our shared philosophy of excellence, precision, and timeless design. ‘Mercedes‑Benz Places – Binghatti City’ is envisioned as a world-class urban experience, a place where luxury and innovation converge to create a complete city within a city. This masterplan will become one of Dubai’s most distinguished destinations and a true symbol of elevated living. - Muhammad BinGhatti, Chairman, Binghatti Developers. Brand equity continues to reshape luxury real estate. Miami established the automotive blueprint with residential towers from Porsche, Bentley, and Aston Martin. In a category-defining move, duPont Registry Group partnered with Fortune International on a tower designed by Pininfarina exclusively for car collectors. Watchmakers like Audemars Piguet have expanded into hospitality with a luxury hotel in Switzerland. Dubai now ranks second only to Miami in the number of branded residences currently under development. Bugatti has a branded residential tower underway in Business Bay, while aftermarket automotive brands like Mansory and Brabus also announced projects earlier this year. Beyond automotive, the Trump Organization has re-entered the market with an 80-story tower and hotel unveiled by Eric Trump, featuring a planned $1 billion investment and the world’s highest outdoor pool. Jacob & Co. has a 103-storey tower under construction. The watchamer also announced a beachfront development between Dubai and Abu Dhabi back in May. Wynn Resorts is developing the region’s first casino in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, while Nakheel has revived Palm Jebel Ali, expanding the blueprint for what luxury living in the region now looks like. Mercedes Teases G-Class Cabriolet Revival, With Four Door...

The Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen has never been shy about its true purpose. It’s big, boxy, capable, and extremely luxurious, but at least in AMG trim, outrageously fast for something that looks like it belongs at a desolate military outpost. Now, the three-pointed star is bringing back one of the rarest and most eccentric flavors of the G-Class, the convertible. Between 1979 and 2013, Mercedes sold a two-door cabriolet built on the short-wheelbase platform, and for the first time, it’s officially headed to the United States. Mercedes has quietly confirmed the return of the open-top G, dropping a shadowy teaser that reveals a four-door silhouette rather than the aforementioned short-wheelbase two-door configuration offered until 2013. Other noteworthy G-details include the squared-off fenders and the prominent spare wheel on the tailgate. The timing of this revival is a strategic one. The G-Class has been a hit since its extensive 2018 redesign. AMG variants, like the G 63 in particular, with 585 horsepower from a mild-hybrid V8, dominate sales. In fact, supply struggles to keep up in markets like the U.S. and the Middle East, despite prices continuing to creep higher. That demand has given Mercedes confidence to expand the current G lineup, even after the G 580’s lukewarm reception as an EV. Companies like Mansory have already embraced the cabriolet formula on the latest G-Wagen. Also, recent updates have made the G more livable than ever, all without stripping away its rugged character. A facelift in 2024 brought subtle changes to the grille and bumpers, plus new sound insulation and a spoiler lip to cut road noise.  Inside, you get Mercedes’ latest MBUX infotainment system, updated driver-assist features, and an off-road interface that includes a “transparent hood” function, essentially a camera-based system that shows obstacles under the front bumper. Powertrains range from the inline-six G 500 with 449 horsepower to the G 450 d diesel offered overseas, but U.S. buyers will likely fixate on that AMG G 63. Coming back to the open-top variant, if you remember those Final Edition Cabriolets from over a decade ago, like the G 500 Cabrio with its manual soft top, you also know they were priced at a premium, considering only 200 examples were made. Today, clean examples fetch well over $250,000 on the secondary market. If Mercedes slots this new convertible anywhere near the AMG G 63’s current $208,000 sticker, expect collectors to start lining up early. Also, who can forget the ultra-limited V12-powered Maybach G 650 Landaulet from 2017, which featured a retractable soft top for rear passengers and still trades hands for seven figures. Now, all of these models, including the upcoming convertible, share one common thread. They’re built in Austria by Magna Steyr in Graz, the longtime production home of the G-Class. That factory has assembled every G-Wagen since 1979, giving this highly competent 4x4 a level of consistency almost unmatched in the luxury car market. So here’s the question for you: would you actually daily-drive a G-Wagen convertible? Roof-down highway cruising sounds fun until you remember the G’s brick aerodynamics and 6,000-pound curb weight. But as a collectible, it’s a no-brainer. The last run of cabrios proved that rarity alone can cement long-term values. This time around, with U.S. allocation confirmed, Mercedes is opening the doors for a much bigger group of buyers. So if you want one, you’ll most likely need to move quickly, as history shows us that G-Class convertibles don’t stick around for long. Silver Arrows, Hollywood Cars, and Concept Cars: Mercedes...

If you were able to make it to this year’s Pebble Beach Automotive Week looking for the usual lineup of multimillion-dollar exotics and coachbuilt hypercars, Mercedes-Benz had so much more to offer. We gave a preview of what to expect last week. Well, now that the dust has finally settled, we wanted to do a quick recap of everything that the three-pointed star had in store. Their headline act? A 1910 Benz Prinz-Heinrich-Wagen that led the Tour d’Elegance, restored by the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center. It packs a 5.7-liter four-cylinder with four-valve tech, dual ignition, and a cardan drive, features that were groundbreaking in 1910. Where most cars at the time still struggled with reliability, this Benz was built for long-distance competition in the Prinz-Heinrich-Fahrt, one of Europe’s earliest endurance rallies.  It appeared parked up next to a privately owned 1914 Mercedes Grand Prix car, highlighting a time when Daimler and Benz were still rivals before eventually merging in 1926. For all its engineering might, the Prinz-Heinrich took home the Charles A. Chayne Trophy, an award given since 1987 to the most technologically advanced car of its era.  Mercedes already has ten “Best of Show” wins at Pebble, so adding another high-profile honor strengthens its dominance here. Finally, Mercedes-Benz Heritage CEO Marcus Breitschwerdt himself took the wheel for the 62-mile tour, where it was joined by a Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series. Also, just like at Goodwood this year, at Sunday’s Concours d’Elegance, the German marque also leaned into the 75th anniversary of Formula 1, where they had Fangio’s legendary 1954-55 W 196 R Formula 1 car sitting next to today’s AMG F1 W16 driven by George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. That is 70 years of Formula 1 evolution, innovation, and engineering represented in a single frame. At Laguna Seca, a 1955 W 196 R and the legendary 300 SLR, yes, the very car that Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson used to blitz the Mille Miglia in record time, shared the track with an equally exotic roofless V8 2009 SLR McLaren Stirling Moss.  But Pebble Beach isn’t just about the past because Mercedes also rolled out the low-slung 1,341-horsepower CONCEPT AMG GT XX, which we saw back in June. A design study, it previews the brand’s next generation of high-performance EVs. The futuristic Vision V people carrier concept, making its American debut, and the ultra-exclusive Maybach S 680 “Emerald Isle” (only 25 units for the U.S.) were also on display. Finally, there was the “Stargaze Theatre,” Mercedes’ pop-up drive-in showcasing its biggest film cameos in history, where you had a chance to take a close look at cars like the Jurassic Park M-Class, the Beverly Hills Cop 380 SL, and even the battered 220 SE from The Hangover.  Mercedes also showcased its latest Hollywood stint by displaying the Brad Pitt starrer F1 The Movie: APXGP movie prop car alongside the AMG GT 63 “APXGP Edition”, one of just 52 units built with the film’s livery. This was a reminder of how Mercedes is deeply woven into pop culture, bringing a spectacular variety of automobiles and an action-packed weekend to a close. Must-See Mercedes-Benz Moments at Pebble Beach 2025

If you’re heading to the 2025 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance during Monterey Car Week, Mercedes-Benz is bringing an exciting lineup of cars that you’d not want to miss. The centerpiece is the new Stargaze Theatre, a drive-in style installation that screens scenes from films featuring Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Parked in front of the massive outdoor screens will be the real cars from those films: think 450 SEL from For Your Eyes Only, the ML 320 from Jurassic Park, the 190 SL from High Society, and more.  Mercedes is also partnering with the team behind the recent Brad Pitt starrer, F1: The Movie. The blockbuster film’s director, Joseph Kosinski, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer will host a private conversation about the movie’s production. On display nearby: the fictional APXGP race car and the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 “APXGP Edition,” a limited-run 52-unit special, inspired by the movie’s livery. The three-pointed star will also use  Pebble Beach to preview two major concept vehicles. The CONCEPT AMG GT XX, an electric four-door sports sedan with 1,341 horsepower, represents the next phase of AMG’s performance strategy. The Vision V concept also makes its American debut. Built on the new Van Electric Architecture, it envisions a luxury lounge on wheels. If you’re looking for something that’s all about exclusivity, Mercedes will present the Maybach S 680 Edition Emerald Isle, limited to 25 examples for the U.S. market, each finished with details inspired by California’s Central Coast. Racing history will also be on display at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where the iconic 1955 300 SLR will share the track with the 2009 SLR McLaren Stirling Moss. Mercedes-Benz will also present the legendary Sauber-Mercedes C9, one of the all-time Le Mans race cars. Finally, the Tour d’Elegance promises a spectacular drive along the 17-Mile Drive and the Pacific Coast Highway, while the new AMG GT 63 “APXGP Edition” will join a rare 1910 Benz Prinz-Heinrich, which is one of only two surviving examples. So there you have it, a taster of what Mercedes is bringing to this year’s Pebble Beach. Whether you collect cars, love motorsports, or just appreciate automotive culture in general, you’ll find plenty to dig into, around experiences specifically designed to pull you into the German brand’s legacy, current innovations, and future vision, and for more on what else is coming later this week, check out our in-depth Guide to the 2025 Monterey Car Week. Bold New Face: Electric GLC Ushers in a New Era of Merced...

Mercedes-Benz is reimagining one of its most recognizable and iconic front-end design elements. The debut of the upcoming all-new electric GLC will do more than launch another SUV; it will introduce a design revolution that sets the tone for a new generation of electric vehicles from the three-pointed star. The GLC, after all, is the German marque’s most popular model, outselling its competitors in the fiercely competitive compact luxury SUV segment. Right from the first glance, this new grille design, as with Mercedes tradition, continues to command attention. Gone is the purely functional radiator face of the outgoing model, and in its place is a striking chrome frame housing a smoked-glass lattice structure, now brought to life with integrated contour lighting. The upright shape is sleek and yet unmistakably Mercedes. That illuminated grille is also expressive. With the 942 backlit dots and an animated pixel display, the optional lighting package transforms the front fascia into a dynamic identity signature. The illuminated Mercedes-Benz star and glowing surround panel showcase a new era of Mercedes-Benz exterior design in the digital era. Compared to current EQ models like the EQB, EQC, the EQS sedan, and EQS SUV, which have leaned on soft, cab-forward forms with glossy black panel grilles, the upcoming GLC introduces a more pronounced and imposing upright front facia with this new backlit grille that carries a hint of heritage-infused visual drama and continues to build on Mercedes-Benz’s design philosophy, known as Sensual Purity.  Speaking of heritage, Mercedes further emphasized that the grille has been a central design feature of its models since the early days. From the majestic and stately 600 Pullman to the refined S-Class sedans of the 1960s and everything in between, the Mercedes grille has gone through several iterations and has been a symbol of identity and prestige for its cars around the world. This new iteration honors that legacy while looking to the future. We’ve also seen hints of this grille on the recently unveiled Vision V concept. “Our new iconic grille redefines the face of our brand. It is the perfect fusion of lasting design codes reinterpreted for the future.” - Chief Design Officer Gorden Wagener. Underneath that futuristic skin is EQ Technology and MB.OS, Mercedes’ next-generation operating system that builds on MBUX and powers the interaction between occupants and the vehicle. In the upcoming CLA, MB.OS will make Mercedes-Benz the first automaker to natively integrate technologies like Microsoft Teams, 365 Copilot, and Intune directly into the vehicle.  Most notably, MB.OS will also give the GLC and the future CLA a digital backbone that older EQ models simply don’t have. Where current EQ vehicles rely on legacy systems wrapped in modern UI, the all-electric GLC is purpose-built for AI, OTA updates, and deep software integration from the get-go. MB.OS also supports the optional MBUX Hyperscreen, the pillar-to-pillar immersive digital display system.  The all-electric Mercedes-Benz GLC will make its global debut next month at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich on Monday, September 7, 2025. Mercedes-Benz Becomes First Automaker To Natively Integra...

It was only a matter of time before the luxury car evolved into a full-blown mobile office, and, with the upcoming CLA, Mercedes-Benz is bringing that vision to life. Going beyond wireless charging pads and on-board displays, this new system will offer enterprise-grade connectivity, generative AI, and live video calls, all while the car is in motion. Mercedes-Benz will become the first automaker to integrate Microsoft’s enhanced Meetings for Teams app into its vehicles, allowing drivers to join video calls using the in-car camera, even while driving. The system complies with national safety laws and was built to minimize distraction. When the camera activates, the display hides shared content, slides, or other video streams, ensuring the driver continues to stay focused on the road.  The feature will debut in the all-new CLA, the first model to run on MB.OS (Mercedes-Benz Operating System), which also powers the fourth-generation MBUX infotainment system. In this Teams update, users will gain access to a redesigned interface with “Next Meetings,” quick contact shortcuts, an expanded chat function, and voice-to-text message input. The system requires the Entertainment Package Plus, which includes a data plan, and will roll out initially in Europe and the United States. Until now, in-car productivity was largely limited to reliance on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While these systems are excellent for music, navigation, and light messaging, they aren’t designed for enterprise tasks. For business users and drivers who operate in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, features like secure app access, Teams video integration, and AI-generated meeting prep have remained out of reach. Mercedes is now bridging that gap. To support this shift, Mercedes has become the first automaker to natively integrate Microsoft Intune into its vehicles. This enterprise-grade device and app management tool allows IT administrators to enforce data separation, manage security policies, and grant or revoke access, just as they would on a corporate laptop or phone. Business users can now switch between personal and work profiles in the car, securely and seamlessly. “This isn’t about screen time. It’s about making time count. CEO of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. “Our collaboration with Microsoft ensures that productivity on the move is safe, seamless, and intuitive.” Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG Perhaps the most forward-looking announcement is the integration of Microsoft 365 Copilot, the generative AI assistant designed to streamline productivity. With voice prompts, drivers can even summarize email threads, retrieve client information, prepare for meetings, or manage to-do lists.  It is a powerful tool that transforms the vehicle into what Mercedes is calling the “third workspace,” a functional bridge between office and home.  But perhaps, nowhere would such a system be more relevant than extending such functionality to the back seat of models like the S-Class or flagship Maybach, where executives can get so much more done, while on the move. But for now, there is a key limitation: these new tools are tied directly to Mercedes’ MB.OS, which is only launching in new models starting with the CLA. It is still unclear if existing Mercedes vehicles, including the current S-Class, EQS, or Maybach lineup, which are currently running older MBUX systems, will receive these features via OTA updates, and if they pack the necessary hardware to support this new software architecture. Still, with this rollout, the message is clear. As hybrid work takes hold and AI-powered productivity tools become essential, Mercedes is already working on future-proofing the role of the automobile and the future of business mobility. An orange Mercedes AMG GT XX Concept luxury sports car is shown from the front side, rear, and interior, featuring modern design, sleek LED lights, and high-tech dashboard displays in this cutting-edge EV.

Mercedes-AMG Concept GT XX: 1,341 HP, 223 MPH, and 250 Mi...

Back in May this year, Mercedes-AMG dropped teasers of a mysterious, low-slung four-door super sedan. We knew it was electric, but just last week, more clues with yet another teaser: a sculpted orange machine with aero strakes, a fixed roof, and no rear glass, which we assumed had something to do with the Vision One Eleven concept. Turns out, it’s both. A hyper-sedan with the attitude of a track weapon and the usability of a four-door. But now, the wait is finally over, because after weeks of speculation, the wraps are finally off. Meet the Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept, an all-electric model with hypercar levels of performance, set to pave the way for the future of the German performance brand, and there’s a lot to unpack here. Performance: Beyond Hypercar Territory Let's kick things off with performance. The AMG GT XX Concept previews the first series-production four-door sports car based on AMG’s dedicated high-performance electric architecture known as AMG.EA that employs a combination of aluminium, steel, and carbon fiber composite materials.  At its core, a revolutionary drive concept developed by Mercedes-owned, U.K.-based subsidiary YASA: three axial flux motors with variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, that deliver 1,341 horsepower and that allow for a top speed of 223 mph. The two rear motors are housed in an oil-cooled High Performance Electric drive unit (HP.EDU) and are equipped with a planetary gear set and an inverter in a single casing. The motor upfront is a Disconnect Unit (DCU), which can boost efficiency by decoupling during steady cruising and coupled again during braking for recuperation. Compact and lightweight, these motors are 3X more power dense, 2/3 lighter, and 1/3the size of conventional radial motors and are designed for ultra-fast torque delivery and advanced torque vectoring. The use of materials such as silicon carbide in the construction offers additional benefits, such as better thermal efficiency, when operating under high voltages and currents. The production of these Axial motors is done at Mercedes' Berlin plant and involves 100 steps, 65 of which are new to Mercedes, with 35 world-firsts and 30+ patents filed. Powering this entire drivetrain system is a high-performance electric battery (HP.EB) designed from the ground up is integrated into the structure of the electric skateboard platform. Controlled by an innovative battery management system (BMS), it uses direct-cooled cylindrical NCMA cells with silicon anodes, full-tab design, and aluminum housing (vs. steel). You're looking at more than 3,000 cells that are cooled individually by a non-conductive oil for real-time thermal control. Charge losses are lower, lifespan is longer, and temperature management is individually optimized per module. Developed fully in-house by AMG, the system uses core sensors and reference electrodes to predict and model cell behavior. What all this means in the real world is: beyond the instant acceleration, sustained performance, without drop-offs typically associated with high-performance EVs. As for charging, AMG claims that the battery remains in an optimal temperature range be it during intense driving or charging, and the system can recover 400 kilometers (about 250 miles) of range in just five minutes. That equates to DC fast charging at the rate of 850 kW and 1,000 amps. They specifically cite that as the distance between Affalterbach and Spa-Francochamps, hinting that this AMG belongs on the track.  Design: Emotion in Motion Finished in the same vibrant orange hue as seen in the teaser last week, the body features Electroluminescent Paintwork, which glows at night and communicates charging progress with animation. Coming to the design, Concept GT XX features a traditional wide Panamericana-style front grille with vertical struts and a massive three-pointed star in the center, a backlit lip, radar sensors, and two rectangular auxiliary lighting units within. The tri-led setup, as seen on the concept, has made way for what appear to be conventional headlights. But you have exterior speakers embedded in the headlight housings, doubling as pedestrian alert systems and sound generators using passive membrane tech for bass production. Down low, a deep chin spoiler, and air curtains on either side of the front bumper help funnel air through a heavily ducted hood, similar to the aforementioned Vision One Eleven. The fastback profile follows a body that features a long hood, a long wheelbase, a stubby-tail, and wide rear haunches, giving it a purposeful stance. Rolling stock? Five-spoke, center-lock 21-inch forged wheels with active aero blades that open for brake cooling and close for drag reduction, controlled by mini generators and Bluetooth. The wheels also feature contrasting orange accents and are wrapped in Michelin rubber. Another interesting detail is the door sills. This design pattern is widely found on current AMG models, but here, they appear to be backlit. To remind you that this isn’t just a rebadged EQ model, there’s a decal on the front door that reads “Concept AMG GT XX - Driving Performance Since 1967.”  Moving to the back, and the main thing that catches you is that there is no rear glass. Instead, you get a fixed panel, with a massive AMG decal that extends onto the subtle double-bubble roof. Further back, you’ll find a deployable active spoiler that sits flush with the bodywork, ensuring the drag coefficient stays razor sharp at just 0.198. The triple concentric circular tailights on either side are one of the holdovers from the May teaser. Only here, they look almost production-ready. Sitting between them is the MBUX Fluid Light Panel at the rear, which uses 700 RGB LEDs to communicate real-time vehicle status. Lower down, you have a subtle diffuser setup. Overall, the GT XX certainly has presence, and the form stays true to the Vision AMG Concept from 2022. Inside, things remain just as purposeful, and it's clear: this car wasn’t designed for comfort, but was built with competition in mind. Carbon-fiber bucket seats, with leather and suede finishes that extend to the doors and roof, a fixed carbon roof, orange contrast stitching, and grab straps instead of door handles. Derived from AMG GT3 racing tire pyrolysis oil, mixed with plant proteins and biopolymers, the individually-scanned 3D printed seat pads are covered in Labfiber Pearl Black, which matches genuine leather in feel, breathability, aging, and tensile strength and is fully recyclable. The butterfly-style yoke steering wheel looks sporty and packs a host of physical buttons and dials, and an integrated display that shows the state of charge. Two massive screens dominate the dash, one being the 10.25-inch driver information panel and the central 14-inch screen. There are subtle hints of orange throughout this sporty cockpit with backlit elements, seen in the center console and wheel wells. A highlight is that the central mode selector sits a top of a cylinder with vertical fins. Beyond the bright brushed metal finishes, there are more hints of the use of recycled materials at play with the textured finishes on the floor. Rear seats? Not shown here, but AMG claims they're fully integrated into the bulkhead. Perhaps looking closely at the central infotainment panel hints at this car’s intent, as it can be seen displaying performance data like lap times and distance. The Most Powerful AMG Ever Made To fully appreciate what AMG is trying to do with the Concept GT XX, you have to go back to its roots. Founded in 1967 by Hans Wener Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, AMG (where G stands for Großaspach, Aufrecht’s birthplace) began tuning Mercedes engines for motorsport. By the 1980s and ‘90s, the AMG badge had become synonymous with brutal V8 sedans and motorsport-grade engineering. In 1999, Daimler Chrysler (as it was then known) acquired a majority stake, and by 2005, AMG fully folded into the Mercedes-Benz family. Now, two decades later, the Concept GT XX represents the most radical reinvention of the performance brand. With 1,341 horsepower, the Concept AMG GT XX is more powerful than the 1,063 horsepower AMG One hybird hypercar, currently the fastest production car around the Nürburing Nordschleife (6:29.090 minutes). Also, for some context, an F1 car makes a combined 1,000 horsepower: 850 from the combustion engine alone and 160 horsepower from its electric motor. The GT XX surpasses those numbers without burning a drop of fuel, and has four doors and a trunk. Speaking of the AMG One and F1, the powertrain of the Concept GT XX benefits from inputs not just from Affalterbach, but the Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains (HPP) in Brixworth (UK). The innovative package that combines the revolutionary motor and battery will enter series production at Mercedes-AMG in 2026 While the Concept GT XX is an exceptional showcase of where AMG is headed next, would it be wise to delay launching any all-electric performance models at this point, as sales of EVs have cooled off and the market has yet to pick up? Several performance marques from the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini have put their all-electric models on hold for now, but when the time is right, AMG already has something pretty substantial to build upon and can act quickly. Limited-Run Mercedes-AMG GT 63 'APXGP Edition' Unveiled A...

With the 2025 Miami Grand Prix weekend upon us, Mercedes-AMG has taken the wraps off the GT 63 “APXGP Edition”, a limited-run coupe that celebrates the upcoming Apple Originals film, F1. Starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, and directed by Joseph Kosinski (who also directed Top Gun: Maverick), was shot during actual Grand Prix weekends. Pitt plays a retired driver pulled back into the high-stakes world of Formula 1, mentoring a young talent portrayed by Idris. Lewis Hamilton served as one of the producers, while Mercedes-AMG played a key role in production, from supplying track-ready AMG models, including an AMG SL, G-Class, GT, and FIA safety and medical cars, to helping with the crafting of the movie’s fictional racing team, APXGP. The race cars featured in the film, convincingly wrapped by Mercedes to look like F1 cars, are built on a Formula 2 chassis.  This brings us to the special edition road car. The AMG GT 63 APXGP Edition borrows heavily from the fictional race team. Painted matte black with race gold accents surrounding the AMG-specific grille, it wears a chequered flag motif behind the front fender vents and is set against contrasting matte race gold 21-inch forged wheels. The carbon-fibre aero-kit, made up of splitters, sills, rear diffuser, and a fixed rear wing, is shared with top-tier AMG packages. As part of the extended Night Edition Package, black chrome now features on the radiator grille, the AMG crest, and the three-pointed star on the rear.   Inside the race gold theme continues, with carbon fiber trim, black Nappa leather, and microfiber suede on the seats and steering, set against gold contrast stitching on the door panels, instrument panel, and the center armrest. It doesn’t stop there as the door sill trims feature AMG lettering that is backlit in gold, and the floor mats come with a leather insert embroidered with the APXGP logo in race gold. On the tech front, you get a high-end 15-speaker 1,170-watt Burmester audio system and a data logger that comes with the AMG Track pack. Just 52 examples of this special edition will be made worldwide, and each will come with a numbered badge that showcases the car’s exclusivity.  As for performance, this sports car may be movie-themed, but it still packs a hand-built 4.0-liter Bi-turbo V8 with 577 horsepower, which gets you to 60 mph in just over 3.0 seconds. Throw in all-wheel drive, active suspension, a front-axle lift system, rear wheel-steering, and carbon ceramic brakes, and you’ve got yourself a fantastic grand tourer that can also do duty on track. Mercedes-AMG hasn’t announced pricing for the APXGP Edition, but considering the standard GT63 coupe starts just shy of $180,000, this limited run model targeting collectors should cost more. For fans, expect high-octane drama in the film F1, which is set to hit theaters internationally on June 25 and June 27 in North America. View All Mercedes-AMG GTs For Sale Source: Mercedes-AMG
