Aston Martin's Racing.Green. Strategy Targets Start-To-Fi...

Earth Day makes for a perfect time to start down a serious path to sustainability for Aston Martin. Green has always been a symbol that means it’s time to go. And Aston Martin has decided to use that signal to go green as a brand. The new strategy, called “Racing.Green.” lays out Aston Martin’s journey towards all-round sustainability. The brand aims to achieve net-zero emissions according to the Science Based Targets initiative’s Net-Zero Standard, with goals to make its manufacturing facilities net-zero by 2030, and net-zero emissions across the entire supply chain by 2030. MUST READ: Aston Martin Is Working With Britishvolt To Develop Its First Electric Car By 2025 Since 2019, Aston Martin has used 100% renewable energy in its UK manufacturing facilities, but Racing.Green. takes this effort much further, targeting reduced water consumption, an electrified vehicle lineup starting with the Valhalla plug-in hybrid that will be complete in 2030, leather-free vegan interiors, and other initiatives that holistically improve Aston Martin’s environmental impact. This Earth Day marks the start of a new race for Aston Martin, and knowing the brand, it’s sure to reach the finish line. View All Aston Martins For Sale Source: Aston Martin

Aston Martin to Receive Electric and Hybrid Tech From Mer...

After announcing the Mercedes-Benz AG will be one of Aston Martin's largest shareholders (maximum 20%), we're now learning of the fruits of this partnership. In a press release from Aston Martin, details were given as to what is in the agreement between the two brands. One highlight is that Mercedes-Benz will be giving Aston Martin access to their powertrain architectures, including hybrid and electric vehicles, for vehicles to be launched from now until 2027. This shows that Aston Martin is going full-steam-ahead with creating an electric or hybrid model and now we know to expect something by 2026 at the latest. Could it be a new electric DB? Electric hypercar? Who knows, but I'm excited. Another interesting note from the press release that I found, which is unrelated to the Mercedes partnership, is in regards to the Valkyrie hypercar. Aston Martin says that they are set to start delivering the Valkyrie next year. It's been a long time coming, so I'm most definitely excited to see the Valkyrie at the big events next year. Billionaire Lawrence Stroll Invests $239 Million in Aston...

Aston Martin has reportedly sold a 16.7% stake to billionaire Lawrence Stroll, according to AutoCar.co.uk. The amount he invested equates to around $239 million USD and it's part of an investment package that's around $660 million. Autocar detailed some of the key points of the deal. As part of this deal, Stroll will become Aston Martin chairman while Andy Palmer will stay on as CEO. They also report that cutbacks to jobs and costs will follow. Interestingly enough, specific model production timing was announced: the Valkyrie will launch this year and the Valhalla will follow. Aston Martin will suspend the Electric RapidE project and delay the Lagonda launch until 2025. Furthermore, Stroll's "Racing Point" F1 team will now be rebranded as Aston Martin from 2021. Who is Lawrence Stroll? He's a Canadian billionaire who has a net worth of around $2.6 billion according to Forbes. He has also invested in fashion companies like Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors. His last name may be familiar to you and that's because his son, Lance Stroll, races in Formula One. Source: AutoCar.co.uk
