2016 Audi RS 6 Avant performance and RS 7 Sportback performance

It appears as if the gasoline engineers at Audi have been hard at work. According to a press release issued earlier today, the 4.0-liter V8 found among their upper-level models has been boosted to 605 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. That is amazing power from a tiny V8, and it will be used in the upcoming RS 6 Avant performance and RS 7 Sportback performance cars.

Although they won’t be sold in the US, these two promise models world class performance. 3.7 seconds is all you will need to reach 62 mph from a standstill, and after 12 seconds your speedometer will be passing 125 mph. Thanks to being only 4.0-liters, fuel economy is a very respectable 24.8 mpg. Both models are arriving with adaptive air suspension that rides 0.8 inches lower than their predecessors. This will help aerodynamics at high speed, because the limiter has been raised to 189.5 mph.

Pricing for the RS 6 Avant performance will start at €117,000 and the RS 7 Sportback performance will be €121,700 (in Germany). Any engine changes to an imported car require a tedious and expensive EPA re-certification, which is why we rarely receive the top end models from Europe. That is why you should stay tuned to Autofluence and see how the competition responds to these new powerful Audis.
