Bentley Brings Classics And New Debuts To The FAT Ice Race

The historic luxury titan lets loose on the ice.

At least in the Northern Hemisphere, the dead of winter has taken over, and enjoying the outdoors in any way means making the best of the cold. For automotive enthusiasts, that means events like the FAT Ice Race, which FAT brought to Zell am See, Austria, last weekend for a unique celebration of automotive excellence in frozen alpine style. At the past FAT Ice Race, Bentley had a prominent presence as a multi-year partner of the event.

Seven Bentley cars were featured, including three cars that took to the icy track, two global debuts, and the first public event appearance of the new Supersports, which was modified for the ‘FULL SEND’ film, where it was driven by Travis Pastrana. Over 250 VIP guests were in attendance, with a hospitality ‘Green House’ featuring a bespoke sound system and live DJs. The Joe & The Juice Bentayga served coffee in Bentley’s paddock space, and the theme for Bentley’s presence was ‘Bentley Broadcast,’ showcasing bespoke audio and Bentley’s luxury legacy.

The new Continental GT S was at the event, driven by Laura Villars, and it was showcased alongside the Speed Six Continuation Series Car Zero, which was driven by the Head of Bentley’s Heritage Collection, Mike Sayer. Chris Harris drove the Bentayga Speed in the Skijöring class of the competition, towing Norwegian freestyle skier Hedvig Wessel. The Continental S and Bentayga Speed were also given special liveries for the race.

The Bentayga X Concept was also showcased at the event, with an increased ride height, a wider track, off-road tires, wheel arch extensions, and other off-road-oriented modifications. Continuing the partnership with FAT International, Bentley will also be at the upcoming FAT Ice Race in Big Sky, Montana, before taking over FAT Mankei in Austria for a day this summer.
