With the new Torcal, Bentley has officially introduced a battery-electric production vehicle to its lineup of ultra-luxury cars. Making its global debut in London, the US debut of the Torcal took place in Los Angeles, giving American Bentley enthusiasts their first look at the future of the historic manufacturer’s approach to ultra-luxury, with innovative electric vehicle engineering, but the same cherished approach to craftsmanship, elegant design, and fine materials.
Now, the Torcal has made its debut on the country’s East Coast, coming to CART Department in New York City for its first appearance there. The one-night gallery took place in the city’s iconic West Village, and the Torcal’s first New York appearance took place alongside the US debut of a new Bentley Flying Spur Art Car, created by Death Spray.
At the event, the Torcal showcased was a Bentley Torcal S in Sequin Blue. While being one of Bentley’s most futuristic creations, the diamond motif remains prevalent, a signature derived from some of the earliest days in Bentley’s history in the 1920s. With an illuminated diamond grille, the new Bentley Torcal brings one of the most cherished Bentley traditions into the future.

Meanwhile, the Flying Spur, Bentley’s stately and sporty ultra-luxury sedan, is transformed into an art car by British artist David Gwyther, known as Death Spray. A self-taught painter, one of his biggest inspirations is vintage motorsport, and he has created automotive liveries for Gymkhana cars and the Bentley Supersports FULL SEND car. The new Bentley Flying Spur Death Spray Art Car features a base coat in deep black, with photophorescent paint being used to create a design in white, blue, green, and purple that glows in the dark. In darkness, the design glows, and in light, the effect is a striking, high-contrast design. At the gallery, guests were able to witness Gwyther complete the work in real time.
Showcasing two of Bentley’s latest creations, the brand’s appearance at CART Department in New York City was nothing short of captivating. With the New York debut of the new BEV Torcal and a striking art car rendition of the iconic Flying Spur, the duo of cars showcased in the West Village was a testament to Bentley’s cherished tradition, bold futurism, and cultural relevance.
