The Bentley Foundation Partners With The Royal Academy Of Music On Its Third Anniversary

The third institution to become a flagship partner of The Bentley Foundation is announced as it celebrates its third birthday.

The charitable foundation of Bentley Motors, The Bentley Foundation, is celebrating its third anniversary since its establishment, and it has spent those three years doing award-winning community work. This includes funding 21 projects across 15 countries and reaching well over 600,000 people globally with its impact in total. Recent partnerships with the Bentley Foundation include The Queen’s Reading Room and the National Portrait Gallery, and as the organization celebrates its third anniversary, its latest flagship partner has been announced: the Royal Academy of Music.

Reinforcing its commitment to arts, culture, and education, The Bentley Foundation’s partnership with the Royal Academy of Music supports the Glover Edwards Conducting Program, which addresses underrepresentation among conductors and orchestral leaders. Founded in 2018, the Glover Edwards Conducting Program has impacted the industry significantly with the conducting talent it has fostered.

The Royal Academy of Music is Britain’s oldest conservatoire, bringing students together from over 50 countries, offering education, performances, and public concerts. Support from the Bentley Foundation for the academy will contribute to the Glover Edwards Conducting program, help fund postgraduate conducting scholarships for women, and support flagship performances by the Academy Symphony Orchestra. A major public performance, Ryan Bancroft conducts the Academy Symphony Orchestra, will be part of the partnership.

About the partnership, Sian Edwards, Head of Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music, said, “The Glover-Edwards Programme continues to make great strides, and we can see the impact that it has had in addressing gender imbalance in postgraduate conducting course applications, and by extension, the profession. With the Bentley Foundation now partnering with us to help continue the Programme, as well as supporting vital scholarships and Symphony Orchestra performances, I have great confidence that we can continue to make even more progress in the coming years.”

As part of its broader Beyond100+ strategy, The Bentley Foundation’s partnership with the Royal Academy of Music is an example of Bentley’s commitment to growing and nurturing culture, art, and education, alongside reshaping the automotive industry with its highly innovative, luxurious, elegant, and timeless creations.
