BMW Group Reports Major Setbacks In Q3 2024 Results

BMW emerges from major setbacks in the third quarter. The third quarter of the year has proved to be challenging for ceratin manufacturers within the automotive industry, and as BMW Group is recapping its third-quarter results for 2024, the report cites a technical issue as the reason for a major challenge when it comes to the group’s delivery numbers and financial results. However, BMW expects deliveries to increase in the fourth quarter, finishing 2024 with adjusted full-year guidance. The technical issue is related to the Integrated Braking System (IBS), and it dampened sales and revenue. While BMW Group’s BEV deliveries increased during the quarter, the issues made the third quarter a tough one for BMW Group. Delivering 1,754,157 cars, the first nine months of this year represents a 4.5-percent decrease compared to last year’s number. In the third quarter itself, 540,881 BMW Group deliveries represented a 13-percent decrease. As the IBS problem forced delivery stops and delays for BMW Group, it has proved a major challenge and a considerable setback for the group’s performance, both in the third quarter and in the first nine months of the year. However, as the manufacturer is working hard to rectify all of the impacts of the issue, the fourth quarter is expected to bring increased deliveries with robust demand. View All BMWs For Sale

BMW Reveals New Production Version Of The Skytop Roadster

BMW’s stunning open-top concept has become a reality. Earlier this year at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, BMW showed off a beautiful concept vehicle: the Skytop. A two-seat roadster with elegant lines and a powerful V8 engine, its elegant beauty is inspired by icons like the BMW Z8 and the 507 that inspired it. Its rousing reception at the event and in the public convinced BMW to answer to popular demand and reveal a limited-production version of the Skytop, which has just been announced. With only 50 units of the gorgeous roadster being made, the production BMW Skytop is set to be a collector-grade masterpiece among BMW’s luxurious lineup. Its unique design, classic-inspired silhouette, and, of course, its 625-horsepower 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 make it a head turner and an open-top driving pleasure. With xDrive all-wheel drive and BMW’s Steptronic Sport 8-speed transmission, the gorgeous luxury roadster will sprint from 0 to 60 in just 3.3 seconds and demonstrate enviable driving dynamics. As a limited-production luxury performance roadster, the production BMW Skytop features stunning details, like a leather-covered roll bar behind the seats, a leather-trimmed soft-top roof, custom LED lighting assemblies, soft-closing doors, a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system, and more highlighting the exclusive luxury design. With the concept version giving way to a new ultra-exclusive production version, the BMW Skytop is the next chapter of BMW’s luxury performance roadster lineage. BMW x Toyota Announces New Hydrogen-Powered Vehicle Partn...

BMW partners with Toyota for hydrogen pioneering. While battery electric vehicles have dominated the automotive world’s transition to electrification, which is happening at a breakneck pace, there are some situations in which battery-electric powertrains are not the best solution. A less popular solution that has been championed by a few pioneers, however, is hydrogen fuel. Using hydrogen to power an electric vehicle is something that manufacturers like BMW and Toyota have been exploring, and now, they will do it together. BMW has announced that it plans to launch its first-ever series-production hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle in 2028. Towards this effort, the German manufacturer will join forces with Toyota to collaborate in developing the next generation of hydrogen fuel cell vehicle technology. Both companies will use what they have already learned in hydrogen and electric vehicle engineering in order to create a new, better generation. Together, BMW and Toyota will jointly develop a powertrain system for series production vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel cells, launching the first model in 2028. Both passenger and commercial vehicles will rely on the powertrain system, with the BMW and Toyota hydrogen FCEV models retaining the unique characteristics of vehicles from both brands, providing a range of options for customers to choose from. Building on the success of the iX5 Hydrogen, BMW plans to create a hydrogen variant of an existing model. The new hydrogen fuel cell vehicle will sit alongside combustion and battery electric powertrains, offering a new option for situations where battery power isn’t the best option. BMW Reveals The First-Ever New M5 Touring For The US Market

A new high-performance luxury wagon may save a dying breed. In today’s automotive world, SUVs have become one of the most popular body styles, with luxury and performance variants imbuing the practical and versatile vehicles with the attributes of luxury sedans and supercars alike. However, decades ago, the body style of choice was the station wagon, which was deemed unfashionable and has since become one of the rarest styles on the road. However, station wagons have earned themselves a niche following among car enthusiasts, and luxury high-performance wagons have become an intriguing segment of the automotive industry, where practicality, luxury, and performance combine elegantly differently than their luxury-performance SUV counterparts. European manufacturers like Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW have become the champions of cars like these. BMW is reaffirming its commitment to the luxury performance wagon formula by introducing its first-ever BMW M3 Touring. However, it’s going a step further with another new performance wagon. That is the new BMW M5 Touring, which has just been revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, one of the most prestigious and anticipated annual automotive events. It’s debuting alongside the new BMW M5 sedan, which uses a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain to produce a massive 717 horsepower and 738 lb/ft of torque. The new M5 Touring boasts the same futuristic power. It can drive 25 miles on electric power alone, boasts nearly 60 cubic feet of cargo capacity, and rockets from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 190 mph (with the M Driver’s Package). Previous generations of the BMW M5 have had Touring variants. Still, this new generation marks the first time a BMW M5 Touring station wagon has been offered in the United States market, bringing a new luxury performance wagon to a scarce but intriguing segment. The new M5 Touring’s versatility is highlighted through its five driving modes: HYBRID, ELECTRIC, eCONTROL, DYNAMIC, and DYNAMIC PLUS. These modes allow for comfortable everyday driving, all-electric commuting, battery capacity optimization, and circuit domination. However, the new BMW M5 Touring boasts much more than being a luxury station wagon with plenty of brawn. It’s also a driver-focused masterpiece that can switch between four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive for drifting, for example. In addition, a near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution ensures supercar-level dynamics. With luxury, hair-raising performance, and the added practicality and unique appeal of a station wagon body style, the new hybrid 717-horsepower BMW M5 Touring is the future of luxury performance wagons, and a car that could breathe life into an endangered segment in the market. It starts at $121,500, plus a $1,175 destination and handling fee, and its global market launch is set to take place in the fourth quarter of the year. View All BMW M5s For Sale Image Source: BMW

The custom eScooter is presented in a distinctive 12-foot-high packaging, adding a unique visual element to the overall presentation. The collaboration between BMW Motorrad and VAGABUND reflects a shared interest in exploring new design possibilities and redefining traditional concepts. BMW Reveals The All-New 2025 BMW X3

One of BMW’s longest-standing SUV icons enters its fourth generation. The BMW X3 has been a long-standing icon in the luxury manufacturer’s lineup, celebrated for its compact size, everyday practicality, and luxurious features, and the 2025 model year marks the introduction of the new BMW X3’s fourth generation. The new 2025 BMW X3 features a redesigned exterior, mild hybrid four and six-cylinder powertrains, improved high-tech features, and other updates for the new model year. The two variants of the 2025 BMW X3 are the X3 30 xDrive and the X3 M50 xDrive, and observant BMW fans will notice the letter “i” is missing from the new model nomenclature. For years, BMW used the letter “i” to indicate fuel injection. Going forward, however, BMW will only use the letter “i” to designate all-electric models as the historic luxury manufacturer continues along its journey towards electrification. After more than 20 years of being one of BMW’s most successful models, the new 2025 BMW X3 boasts 393 horsepower with the 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine in the X3 M50 xDrive and 255 horsepower with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in the X3 30 xDrive. Both engines benefit from turbocharged power and mild hybrid technology to bolster their performance and efficiency, pairing with a lighter body-in-white with greater rigidity for a thoroughly improved driving experience. With an interior with features like the BMW Curved Display, the advanced iDrive 9 system, upholstery available in Veganza, Alcantara and Veganza, and Merino leather, it also features various luxurious options. With its improved style, sporty driving character and performance, and luxurious features inside and out, the new 2025 BMW X3, which starts at $49,500 for the X3 30 xDrive, and $64,100 for the X3 M50 xDrive, is the start of the fourth generation of one of BMW’s most important icons.
