Both in a press release Aug. 14 and the Aug. 16 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, BMW celebrated the 40th anniversary of their first entry into the North American market, as well as the 40th anniversary of the 3.0 CSL's victories. The Hommage R wears the same livery as the original 3.0 CSL, and you can see the two together in the video below.

Added to YouTube by BMW Aug. 14, it takes us into the desert and above the two BMWs, one from the past, one looking toward the future. The new Hommage R Concept may look like the 1975 creation on the outside, but on the inside, it's all 22nd century. It even forgoes the head-up display and jumps straight to a helmet visor display setting.
