Every Bugatti that leaves the factory tells a story, whether it's inspired by something deeply personal to its owner or born from a larger creative collaboration, like a brand partnership with a centuries-old porcelain factory. Bugatti’s latest creation falls firmly into that second category, recently revealing an incredible one-off W16 Mistral, named ‘Blanc Éternel’, inspired by Germany’s second-oldest porcelain manufacturer, Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur. And while the commission features Bugatti’s newest flagship hypercar, its relationship with KPM began exactly 15 years ago, with the debut of the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport ‘L'Or Blanc.’ “The W16 Mistral ‘Blanc Éternel’ is so extraordinarily beautiful because every line and every material serves a purpose. Our commitment to this unique commission led us to delve deeply into the essence of the Veyron Grand Sport ‘L’Or Blanc’ and to continue the next chapter of this partnership through the W16 Mistral’s entirely digital design language. Bringing this concept to life required close collaboration between our Bugatti design team in Berlin and the experts and management at KPM. “‘Blanc Éternel’ pays homage to Bugatti’s history without being constrained by it, and combines our heritage with individual taste in an entirely new way. That is the beauty of ‘Sur Mesure’: creating something authentic and timeless that could belong to no one else.” – Frank Heyl, Design Director at BugattiThe grand reveal comes as part of an exclusive “Blanc Éternel” Collection, showcasing a three-piece porcelain lineup that includes an Aviator Cafe Cup, Aviator Espresso Cup, and To-Drive Cup for the road, all limited to 1,000 handcrafted pieces. What makes the project even more special is that KPM worked directly with Bugatti to configure the W16 Mistral on home soil, utilizing Bugatti Design’s new 12,000 square-foot headquarters in Berlin, Germany. Black lines trace the pure white exterior of the open-top hypercar, adding geometric depth and three-dimensional contrast to areas that may have gone overlooked with a monochrome finish. Complementing the complex paint composition are actual porcelain details, scattered throughout its design like hidden easter eggs, and found in places such as the EB emblem, the fuel and oil caps, as well as two integrated KPM Berlin logo inlays, the royal scepter, on the engine covers. That clean black-and-white styling finds its way inside the cabin, where the geometric logic behind its design reimagines the interior from a blank canvas into a work of art. The speaker grille, two inlays on the knee pads, the gearshift lever trim, an inlay in the center console, and the window control buttons are also crafted from porcelain. “I am proud and thrilled that, after 15 years, this collaboration has once again brought together two of my greatest passions: porcelain and automobiles. KPM and Bugatti represent the perfect fusion of masterful craftsmanship and technical excellence. Two extraordinary houses, united by a shared pursuit of perfection, which has been brought to life in an extraordinary automotive work of art.” – Jörg Woltmann, owner of KPMBeneath its active rear wing that reads “Blanc Éternel” in script is what inspired the partnership as a whole: Bugatti’s legendary W16. The Mistral is the final production car to house the iconic quad-turbocharged 8.0L W16 engine, generating an impressive 1,600 horsepower and 1,180 lb-ft of torque. With only 99 chassis slotted for production and allocated to Bugatti’s very best clients, the W16 Mistral is like a final love letter to the engine that helped define the term “hypercar.” Now with a Veyron Grand Sport and W16 Mistral in the books, the world can’t wait to see the reveal of Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur’s next Bugatti hypercar.
