Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta serves as the season finale for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship each year. There, the world’s top-class endurance cars battle for ten hours, not only taking on the challenging, short, and iconic Georgia circuit, but also fighting for IMSA racing season titles. Cadillac and its V-Series.R LMDh endurance racing hypercar made it through a particularly difficult challenge at this year’s Petit Le Mans, with rain, safety car deployments, a red flag, and more.

Unfortunately, Cadillac did not win the race. Instead, though, it came away with the Manufacturers, Teams, and Drivers’ titles for the 2026 IMSA GTP season. Since 2017, this year marks Cadillac’s fifth Manufacturer title, thanks to a substantial points lead going into the race from the Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing team and the Whelen Cadillac from Action Express Racing team.

Meanwhile, the Whelen Cadillac team, consisting of drivers Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber, and Frederick Vesti, clinched the IMSA GTP Team Championship victory with their number 31 car, and Jack Aitken won the IMSA GTP Driver title. Cadillac’s hypercars finished the race third and on the podium (number 40), fourth (number 10) and seventh after a late accident (number 31).

About the victory, GM President Mark Reuss commented, “What a tremendous result for Cadillac Racing and everyone at General Motors. Winning the 2026 Manufacturer, Team and Driver championships is an extraordinary accomplishment and a testament to the strength of this entire program. Congratulations to Action Express Racing and the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen team, and especially to Jack Aitken on winning the driver championship. Jack, Earl Bamber and Frederik Vesti delivered an outstanding season, supported by an exceptional team of engineers, crew members and partners. This is a great day for Cadillac Racing and gives us strong momentum as we pursue more success next season in IMSA and WEC.”

Despite not crossing the line first at this year’s Petit Le Mans, Cadillac came away from the iconic Road Atlanta race with a proud and triumphant IMSA season behind it, setting the stage for future racing and performance excellence on the 2027 endurance racing calendar.
