Tim Allen's 2017 Ford GT Up For Auction

Presented by Sackey & Co. | Online Supercar Auctions. Sackey & Co. | Online Supercar Auctions is proud to present this stunning 2017 Ford GT serial no. H074 finished in factory Ingot Silver over a Dark Energy interior and just 739 miles from new. This Ford GT was ordered new and owned until late 2021 by Golden Globe-winning actor and comedian Tim Allen. This Ford GT is live now for online auction on Sackey & Co., with bidding to conclude on May 31st. Background on the latest iteration of the Ford GT: In 1901, automotive engineer Henry Ford and his 26-horsepower car “Sweepstakes” famously won a Detroit-area race against local favorite Alexander Winton in his 70-horsepower “Bullet,” a testament to the lightness & reliability of the car Ford had created. His win would attract the publicity and investors that allowed him to start the Ford Motor Company less than two years later in 1903. Over a century later, in 2014, Ford quietly developed a twin-turbocharged V6 unit for prototype class racing, pushing it to an eventual win at the 2015 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. The engine took advantage of similar benefits to the V6 power units recently introduced in Formula 1 at the time, including better packaging, weight, & fuel efficiency versus the larger engines previously used. The spirit of this engine evoked that used by Henry Ford in his original racing car - a focus on innovative engineering over traditional thinking. Casual observers believed Ford was simply experimenting with a new racing engine, but the company had bigger plans ahead. The ultimate use for the engine was revealed to be a new purpose-built Ford GT race car, which would have the incredible task of a return to Le Mans to recapture the glory of Ford’s 1966 Ferrari-beating 1-2-3 finish, 50 years later to the day in 2016. Amazingly, they succeeded in achieving their objective, beating Ferrari once more for a 1st place class win and writing one of the great sports car & racing stories of all time! The road-legal variant of the Le Mans-winning Ford GT was developed alongside the race version, borne as a required homologation effort and additionally as a gift to the Ford faithful, with only 1,350 total units planned. Completion of said production run is on-schedule to end in just a few months’ time, all allocations having been sold out. Built by Ford affiliate Multimatic, who are essentially to Ford what Michelotto is to Ferrari, each new Ford GT is hand-built to order. The car on offer here is a stunningly handsome celebrity-owned example of this incredible racecar turned Supercar. The Ford GT on offer: Ford GT serial no. H074 and VIN number 2FAGP9CW3HH200074 was specified new by Tim Allen and delivered to him via Galpin Ford in North Hills, CA. Tim Allen sold this Ford GT in October 2021 at 671 miles to the current (2nd) owner, and it is presented here in excellent near-new condition at 739 miles from new. H074 was built to an understated no-stripe specification, with a total MSRP of $485,500.00. Options applied to this GT are summarized as follows: • Exterior carbon fiber package in gloss finish at $15,000 cost.• Lightweight carbon fiber wheels in gloss finish at $15,000 cost.• Brake calipers in Blue at $1,000 cost.• Indoor car cover in black at $750 cost. The Ford GT is the only current Supercar that can lay claim to not only being truly hand-built, but to being directly based on a Le Mans-winning racecar. Modern Supercars with such iconic racing heritage as the ‘17+ Ford GT are few and far between, cementing the car as a certain future collectible classic. View Listing

RM Sotheby's To Offer First-Ever Lewis Hamilton GP-Winnin...

Presented by RM Sotheby's - Formula 1®️ together with RM Sotheby’s have announced a very special, single lot auction of the 2010 McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 Formula 1 Race Car, (estimate: $5,000,000 - $7,000,000) to take place at the FORMULA 1 PIRELLI BRITISH GRAND PRIX 2021. The auction will take place on the Saturday afternoon of the race weekend immediately prior to F1’s first-ever Sprint Qualifying Race. In keeping with the series of firsts, this sale marks the first time any Lewis Hamilton F1 Race Car, let alone a Lewis Hamilton Grand Prix winning car has ever been offered for public sale. To mark this unique event and the return of fans to F1’s first-ever venue, Formula 1 and RM Sotheby’s have created the ground-breaking concept to sell this incredible car live while it is being driven around the historic Silverstone circuit at speeds in excess of 150 mph; a unique auction set-up at one of the most iconic tracks in motorsport. Being held on Hamilton’s home track and with a live audience planned for the Silverstone GP, race fans and registered bidders will be able to witness MP4- 25 take to the circuit at speed in all its former glory. AN OPPORTUNITY LIKE NO OTHER A man who has eclipsed all major records with no sign of slowing, Lewis Hamilton has become a Global Icon that transcends the automotive world – currently the most dominant and talked about driver in Formula 1, but yet a gentleman competitor always, showing great deference to the giants that preceded him and who’s shoulders he stands upon as the face of the world’s biggest annual sporting series. The McLaren MP4-25, powered by the Mercedes-Benz FO 108X 2.4-liter V-8 engine, proved to be a major improvement on its predecessor, in part due to the innovative "F-duct" incorporated into the design; the system’s effect being controlled by the driver covering up a small hole in the cockpit with his left leg. The design innovation along with a host of other improvements helped reduce aerodynamic drag and allowed the car as much as an extra 6 mph (9.7 km/h) on straights. In the 14 years since his F1 baptism in Melbourne in 2007, Lewis Hamilton has competed in 270 Grands Prix, winning 98 and enjoying a further 71 podium finishes, he has amassed an incredible 100 pole positions, 3,872 points and led for over 5,170 laps; each milestone reinforcing his reputation at the very pinnacle of the sport and each achieved with recognition and thanks to his team and respect to his rivals. Now a seven-time Formula 1 World Champion and 2021 Laureus Athlete Advocate of the Year Lewis has become a global force across multiple arenas – a talented fashion designer, skilled musician, Hollywood tastemaker, social activist, champion for environmental change as well as the most successful Formula 1 driver of all time. Lewis Hamilton is a global icon whose dynamism and passion for initiating change commands as much attention and respect crossing the finish line as he does as on the red carpet of the MET Gala. The availability of this example, chassis number 25A-01, is an unrepeatable opportunity given the model’s scarcity. While client confidentiality precludes disclosing exactly how many cars exist in private ownership, it's believed to be only a scarce few. As such these examples remain highly coveted and largely in private hands, unlikely to be sold in the near future. Furthermore, the McLaren-Mercedes represents a car that can still be track-driven and supported by the original factory teams as part of individual Heritage departments. Learn more about this unique auction, set to take place 17 July, 2021 at the Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix in Silverstone, United Kingdom. Contact an RM Sotheby’s representative for more details.  View Listing For More Info

Bill Goldberg Sends Brand New Ram 1500 TRX To XPEL For Fu...

Presented by XPEL - Bill Goldberg, a four-time World Champion Wrestler, is a certified gearhead with an extensive car collection. Goldberg's Garage is home to a 1965 Shelby Cobra replica with a NASCAR engine, a former moonshine whiskey-running 1959 Chevy Biscayne coupe, and a 1970 Pontiac GTO convertible – to name a few. Goldberg likes his cars to have power on-demand with the attitude only a V8 can produce. The latest addition to Goldberg's car collection is the new 702-horsepower 2021 Ram 1500 TRX super truck. Ram first introduced the TRX in summer 2020 and did not shy away from its purpose-built intentions – to compete with the Ford F-150 Raptor. The emblem is a velociraptor hanging from the mouth of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. It is the first thing you see under the hood of a Ram TRX. The Ford F-150 Raptor has been the king of super trucks since 2011. Now, the Ram 1500 TRX aims to take the crown – by force. The source of its power comes from a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 throwing down 702-hp and 650 lb.-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. This giant 6,400-pound off-road pickup truck can hit zero to 60 in 4.5 seconds and reach 100 mph in less than 11. The TRX can reach those speeds while rolling on factory 35-inch off-road tires and 12-inch ground clearance. This pickup truck is as big as a pro-wrestler and moves just as fast. The Ram TRX is Bill Goldberg on wheels! Goldberg took his 2021 Anvil Grey Ram TRX to XPEL San Antonio to protect it from the elements – both on and off the road! " width="680"> Goldberg opted to protect the limited-edition Anvil Grey exterior paint on 2021 Ram TRX with STEALTH™ PPF (Paint Protection Film). This premium paint protection film offers the same high-quality protective barrier as ULTIMATE PLUS ™ paint protection film with a unique feature. STEALTH PPF leaves exterior paint in a satin-like matte sheen. The film will protect the TRX from rock chips, light scratches, and chemical containments. On top of STEALTH paint protection film, the Anvil Grey Ram 1500 TRX was treated with XPEL's FUSION PLUS ™ Ceramic Coating. FUSION PLUS complements XPEL's paint protection film like barbeque sauce on brisket. FUSION PLUS performs directly on factory paint but can also be applied directly to film. FUSION PLUS ™ Ceramic Coating offers hydrophobic properties to protect vehicle surfaces by repelling water, dirt, and chemical contaminants. FUSION PLUS provides the look of a fresh paint job. The last step was applying XPEL's PRIME ™ XR PLUS auto window tint to all the windows. PRIME XR PLUS is a premium auto tint made with ceramic particles to filter the sun's rays blocking up to 98 percent of infrared heat. PRIME XR PLUS auto window tint blocks 99% of harmful UV rays. Visit XPEL.com and use the Installer Locator tool to find the nearest certified XPEL installation center and get a quote on any of our paint protection wraps, home and auto window tint, and screen protection films for electronic devices. CAROLLA-MIURA-ORANGE

We Talked With Adam Carolla On His Lamborghini Collection...

Adam Carolla recently purchased himself one of the most iconic Porsches: Paul Newman's 1979 Porsche 935. How much did this purchase cost him? A hefty $4.4 million, making it one heck of a car with one heck of a price tag.To make up for this purchase, he's selling four of his beloved Lamborghini: a 1965 350GT, 1969 Islero, 1969 Miura P400S and a 1970 Miura P400S with an SV body conversion. View Price View Price View Price View PriceWe at duPont REGISTRY had the pleasure of interviewing Carolla regarding his Lamborghinis and his latest purchase. Enjoy!Autofluence: What prompted the purchase of these vehicles? Carolla: "I always thought Lamborghinis were more interesting and they are always made in far fewer amounts. Take something like the 350GT and compare it to the Ferrari of its day. For example, the 1964 Ferrari Lusso, that's a beautiful car that was a two cam-- the 350GT was a four cam. The Lusso had three carbs, while the 350GT had six. And there were only 120 of the 350GTs made, making them small-batch cars. As far as 1960's Italian, the Islero has a healthy powerplant for an introductory Lamborghini and they were produced in far fewer numbers than the Ferrari Daytona, which are more expensive. I honestly bought each of these cars to enjoy them and as investments."AF: What's it been like caring for these classic? Carolla: "I start them up, put them on a trickle charge...honestly, not a whole lot over the years as they've been garage-kept. But when I made the decision to sell them, I took all of them and made sure they all looked and ran right. I went over every car, had the carbs tuned and had Franco's European do all the real fine tuning. In the end, all of them needed to look and be correct, and it was an excuse for me to perfect these cars."AF: Which car are you going to miss the most? Carolla: Definitely the 350GT. It's so iconic and 60's. No one ever sees one. Like, I went to the Italia Concours, they had everything Italian, but no 350GT.AF: What made you decide to buy Paul Newman's Porsche? Carolla: Well, I made the documentary about Paul Newman's racing career. This had me spending hours and days and weeks putting together the segment of him going to Le Mans. I sat and watched all the footage of the car, and I figured the car had to be sitting in a private collection. Surprisingly, it popped up on Gooding & Company. I saw it and knew it was going to be expensive, but I knew I'd never have another shot at it. It's one of the most iconic 935's on the planet. I could buy another 350GT or Islero in the future, but not this car.AF: Have you driven the Porsche yet? Carolla: Not yet, but I plan on taking it to the Laguna Seca for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion for three days. I just want to drive a 935 so badly, and I don't plan on going slow. Whatever happens will happen.AF: Is there any advice you'd give to an aspiring car collector? Carolla: Do your homework, there's so much on the internet, and don't be scared to wring em out.

George Foreman's 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster Head...

When buying an exotic car, popular guidance advises one should consider research into the previous owners and service records. But unless your name is Howard Cosell, we would advise against antagonizing the owner of this 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT. George Foreman's boxing record speaks for itself, and his entrepreneurial efforts have made him a wealthy man. At 67 years old he is still probably capable of taking on opponents half his age, but we can't think of another car from 1997 that could square off against the Diablo VT. Viscous Traction was the name of Lamborghini's all-wheel drive system, and it automatically engages the front wheels if/when the rears spin. The 5.7L V12 makes 485 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque, and the Roadster weighs in at 3,583 lbs. At 6'3" tall, Big George needs a convertible. The carbon fiber roof panel stores neatly on the rear deck lid and is finished in the factory original Smalto Rosso paint. You won't be grilled by maintenance costs, as a recent engine-out service included a new clutch and a leak down test. The Diablo VT is currently riding on new tires, but the originals are also included. Mr. Foreman only put 1,907 miles on the car, so this is your chance at a new Diablo VT. Boxing aficionados will love the included extras like a framed picture and ticket stub from the Rumble in the Jungle. The latest model of his Lean Mean Grilling machine is autographed, along with a pair of boxing gloves. Copies of the original registration and title are included with all service records. If you need more heavyweights in your collection, lot S119 will be up for auction at Mecum's Monterey auction. For more photos and information, please click here. Learn More

Perrelet and "Fast and Furious" Star, Sung Kang, Launch N...

Perrelet, the prestigious Swiss watchmaker, has just launched their latest timepiece, the Turbine Sung Kang, made in collaboration with famous actor Sung Kang and limited to 350 examples. You might know Kang from the Fast and Furious films where he played the role of Han Lue or from Live Free or Die and Ninja Assassin. The Turbine Sung Kang was designed to "provide drivers with improved legibility," according to Perrelet. For this reason, Kang, a self-proclaimed automotive enthusiast, worked with the watchmaker to design the watch. Ensuring the visibility are some significant changes made to the watch. The key feature wearers will notice right away is the placement of the 12 o'clock hour marker, which has been moved to the position of 2 o'clock. By doing this, drivers can properly view the time even when shirt sleeves hide part of the dial when gripping the steering wheel. Additionally, Perrelet protected the dial assembly with glareproofed sapphire crystal so the sun won't deter you from telling time when out for a drive. The Turbine is comprised of 10 anodized aluminum blades with tungsten counterweights beneath five of them. This ensures the blades always return to the same position, with the blade donning the "SK" signature always returning to the 4 o'clock position.  The 44 mm diameter case is made of black PVD-coated stainless steel, with a sapphire crystal case back and a fluted caseband with an integrated crown. Holding the timepiece snug to the wearer's wrist is a black rubber strap, which features a black PVD-coated stainless steel pin buckle showing off the Perrelet logo.To launch this new watch, Perrelet and Sung Kang teamed up for a two-part event. On June 4th, Kang attended JCK, the North American jewelry trade show. The day after, he and the watchmaker journeyed to Cars and Coffee Las vegas. Here, the actor showed off his love for automobiles, signed autographs and showed the world the fantastic new Turbine Sung Kang watch. What's more, he brought Fugu Z with him, a 1973 Datsun 240Z project car which was on display at the 2015 SEMA Show.If there was an optimal way to introduce an automotive-inspired watch, Perrelet has done it.
