The New DS SM Tribute Pays Homage To The Iconic Citroën SM

The iconic Citroën SM has been revived. While the manufacturer may not currently make cars for the US market, Citroën has been known for its unique designs, bold innovations, and pioneering milestones. Cars like the Citroën DS, which championed technology that is still impressive today, such as disc brakes, hydropneumatic suspension, directional headlights, and more, have now gone on to be the namesake for DS Automobiles, a new luxury marque spun off from Citroën in 2009. DS Automobiles is now revealing the futurized revival of another classic Citroën icon, the SM. Related to the DS, the Citroën SM was the performance-oriented counterpart, competing with the highest echelon of luxury performance cars in its time. An icon of the 1970s with Maserati power, the Citroën SM’s legacy has lived on with its futuristic, striking styling and innovative approach to luxury and performance. More than 50 years after the introduction of the SM, DS Automobiles has revealed a new design study: the SM Tribute concept. The new car started as a series of sketches published on DS Automobiles’ social media channels in 2020, after which DS Automobiles decided to bring those sketches to life. The design is modern and futuristic while maintaining the spirit and appeal of the ‘70s icon. The color is a reinterpretation of the original Gold Leaf color, with handmade patina and a satin varnish. The interior features many of the iconic design elements of the original SM, as well as luxurious leather and Alcantara upholstery. A unique icon of ‘70s French automotive excellence, the revival of the Citroën SM in the new DS SM Tribute is a celebration of a cherished classic. Genesis Unveils The New 1,540HP X Gran Racer VGT Concept

Genesis continues to showcase futuristic performance with a new concept. For over a decade, the Vision Gran Turismo series of cars has given manufacturers all over the world a chance to not only show off future design language and forward-thinking visions of the automotive world’s next generation but also to bring those concepts to life in the world of the Gran Turismo driving simulator. Genesis unveiled the X Gran Berlinetta VGT Concept, a stunning sports coupe, earlier this year. The luxury manufacturer has since unveiled a new derivative of the car, the X Gran Racer VGT Concept. Unveiled at the Busan International Mobility Show, the Gran Racer takes a more track-focused approach to performance. It features enhanced ground effects, racing-focused active aerodynamics, and a flat underbody for uncompromised racing performance. The concept also sports a carbon fiber wing designed with aerodynamics and safety in mind. The V6 hybrid powertrain in the X Gran Racer VGT concept boasts 1,540 horsepower, a significant jump compared to the 1,071 horsepower of the X Gran Berlinetta. The car’s dramatic and eye-catching color hints at the Magma theme that all of Genesis’ performance-oriented creations have recently assumed. A lineup of new concepts aimed at performance has sported the striking color and the Magma name in some cases, which has hinted at a future performance-oriented sub-brand from Genesis called Magma. Improving on the Gran Berlinetta's performance, the new Genesis X Gran Racer VGT concept builds the anticipation of Genesis performance cars even higher. Genesis Unveils Two New Concepts In New York

Genesis previews its next chapter of groundbreaking luxury. With incredible success from its stylish, elegant, and high-tech lineup of luxury vehicles, Genesis has, in under a decade, proven itself to be a formidable name in the luxury automotive landscape, going up against a large group of industry titans, some of whom have a century or longer of history. However, Genesis refuses to rest on its laurels and is previewing the next chapter of its innovative approach to automotive luxury with the reveal of two new concept cars: the Genesis Neolun concept, and the Genesis GV60 Magma. The Neolun concept, derived from Greek “neo,” and Latin “moon,” is a full-size electric SUV, inspired by Korean moon-shaped porcelain jars. Its elegant, monolithic design features clean lines, minimalistic detailing, and a distinct lack of B-pillars, highlighted by coach-style doors. This concept ensures unparalleled interior room, and easy ingress/egress. The night sky is referenced by the two-tone color scheme of Midnight Black and Majestic Blue, and Korean culture is also referenced in an innovative way: through the heating system. “Ondol” is a traditional Korean underfloor room heating solution, which serves as inspiration for the Neolun’s ingenious radiant heating system, which efficiently heats the vehicle through the use of heated surfaces throughout the vehicle. Meanwhile, the concept also features swiveling seats for versatility, and luxurious finishes like a wood floor, cashmere, and leather. The GV60 Magma Concept shows off a different side to Genesis, with “Magma” being Genesis’ upcoming high-performance line. The manufacturer looks forward to unveiling performance-oriented Magma versions of each of its models, and the GV60 Magma Concept shows off what that could look like. Prioritizing the driving experience, the concept promises improved performance, along with a wider, lower stance, enhanced aerodynamics, and a sportier design with bold colors. The bold orange Magma color symbolizes the concept, taking after the GV80 Coupe Concept, which was the first to feature the color, and the interior features body-color seatbacks for sporty bucket seats that are also luxurious with suede and Nappa leather upholstery. The concept was displayed among the other Magma cars: the GV80 Coupe Concept, the G80 Magma Special, and X Gran Berlinetta Concept. Racing legend Jacky Ickx is set to lend his expertise to the Genesis Magma program, which will further transform the burgeoning luxury brand upon its introduction. Ahead of the 2024 New York International Auto Show, both new concepts were unveiled today at the Genesis House New York, and starting March 29, they will be at the New York International Auto Show at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. View All Genesis For Sale Image Source: Genesis

Aska Debuts A New Functional Flying Car Prototype At CES ...

At CES 2023 in Las Vegas, a new flying car takes off. The concept of “flying cars” has been something that we as a society have come to associate with science-fiction depictions of the future after decades, and with that, the implementation of flying cars in our society, when it does happen, will likely be for many the line of demarcation between the era we live in now, and the next chapter of humanity. For years, designs, concepts, and dreams have been at the forefront, but flying cars are still yet to be a part of our everyday world. Aska, a startup founded in 2018, has finally revealed its A5 prototype, a vehicle that hopes to have drivers who can drive, fly, and drive again, all in one seamless, effortless sitting. With the interior space of a large SUV and seating for up to four, the A5 plans to be convenient like no vehicle has been before on the road or in the sky, and the manufacturer has a goal of commercializing the prototype in 2026, which means the future, the real future, might be sooner than we think. The New Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept Shows Off The E...

This new Dodge concept combines the glory of the past with the innovation of the present. There is much to be gained by transitioning from gasoline-powered cars to electric vehicles. For many brands, making the switch to electric power has allowed them to offer better efficiency, reduced environmental impact, increased performance, more practicality, and even better handling and dynamics with more enjoyable drivetrains and a lower center of gravity. However, there is still some loss, as there always is when we set aside anything old to embrace something new. MUST READ: Dodge Dealerships Announce New Third-Party Challenger Convertible Conversion Through Drop Top Customs For many, the sound of a gasoline engine is one of the most enjoyable aspects of driving a car. Different engines let out a variety of noises that drivers crave to hear, and with electric cars, that sound is either drastically changed or even eliminated. In addition, the lack of a transmission leaves many drivers feeling as though they lack control and the feeling of true performance driving. Dodge has a history of making some of the world’s most iconic muscle cars, and if it was going to embrace electric performance, the brand simply couldn’t make those kinds of compromises. The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept is what resulted. It’s an electric vehicle but still very much a muscle car at heart, with muscle car looks, and muscle car tricks up its sleeve. It takes cues from the original Charger Daytona and adds to it technology that revives the fun factor of the old car with cutting-edge new technology. For example, the car features an industry-first exhaust system for electric vehicles called the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, which can reach a Hellcat-rivaling 126 dB. Also, the car features a transmission, called eRupt which makes use of a retro-inspired pistol-grip shifter to deliver a pure-fun shifting experience, and at the front of the car, what looks like a grille is actually an aerodynamically-efficient front wing. However, performance isn’t the car’s only strong suit. It features plenty of technology in the interior, as well as a panoramic glass roof and hatchback design that make it practical, usable, and enjoyable for just about everyone who gets to be in the car. The concept previews what Dodge’s electrified performance future will look like, and the only thing that isn’t shocking about it is that it’s going to involve very fast cars. The Blizz Primatist Electric Car Set 7 Electric Speed Rec...

Electric power proves its worth by setting 7 records at Nardò. 74-year-old Italian entrepreneur Gianmaria Aghem has driven over 400 vintage car rallies, and his living room is home to over 70 trophies. It’s safe to say that he’s an experienced driver. However, his latest achievement has been setting 7 world records at Italy’s Nardò Technical Center with the all-electric single-seater Blizz Primatist, a car that differs just about entirely from his 1965 Lancia Fulvia Coupé. The name Blizz references Blizz Timing, Aghem’s company that creates rally-ready chronometers, and the car’s unique design is inspired by the Bertone-penned Z.E.R., which achieved an incredible drag coefficient of 0.11. The Z.E.R. set the world speed record for electrically powered vehicles at nearly 190 mph in 1995, after already setting another record just the year before. MUST READ: The 5 Porsche Concept Cars You Never Heard About Impressed by the Z.E.R., Aghem wanted to drive it, but it was unavailable and was brought to a museum after Bertone’s bankruptcy. Instead, Aghem decided to redesign the Z.E.R. as his own. Improved from the ground up with newly developed components from scratch, the Blizz Primatist set out to do what the Z.E.R. did at Nardò decades ago. At Nardò, the Blizz Primatist broke records for the highest average speed of an electric vehicle weighing up to 500 kg at the 10-mile, 100-kilometer, and 100-mile distances in just one day, with 4 percent battery charge left at the end of the drive. However, Aghem wasn’t done yet, and the battery was charged to go again the next day, where the Primatist broke the records for the 10-mile, 100-kilometer, and 100-mile time trials, with every time certified by the FIA. As a matter of fact, Aghem had the opportunity to break the Z.E.R.’s record for the distance covered in 1 hour for electric vehicles weighing up to 1,000 kilograms, but he passed on it to honor the Z.E.R.’s legacy. Breaking 7 records was enough to prove that electric mobility is the future. View All Electric Cars For Sale Source: Porsche

Now, that legacy continues, as Buick has introduced yet another Wildcat concept, a striking 2+2 coupe that is powered by electricity. MUST READ: 1987 Buick Grand National “The Last Grand National” – Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2021 " width="680"> The new Buick Wildcat EV Concept is electrifying in more ways than its powertrain, however.
