Meet the New Czinger 21C Spyder, a 1,250HP Open-Air Hypercar

Meet the New Czinger 21C Spyder, a 1,250HP Open-Air Hypercar

Six years ago, Czinger first wowed the automotive world with the digital reveal of the 21C, cementing its place in the hypercar realm with a four-wheeled creation that seemed to unlock an entirely new species and driving experience. Today, that legacy continues as Czinger Vehicles just debuted the new 21C Spyder as the next chapter of its story, here at Monterey Car Week, just hours north of its headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. Czinger has never been particularly interested in following suit and fitting itself into a mold, and the new 21C Spyder is yet another way to convince the world why. The latest version of the California-built hypercar takes everything that made the 21C such a unique and fascinating car in the first place and removes the roof. That sounds simple enough, but Czinger didn't just chop the top off and call it a day. Lukas Czinger and the team used the Spyder as another opportunity to rethink and improve some areas of the 21C, including a completely new brake system and a redesigned cockpit. The biggest change hiding behind all that carbon fiber is Czinger's new BrakeNode system. Instead of having the caliper upright and hydraulic lines as separate parts, Czinger combines them into one core component. The in-house manufactured design sheds over six pounds of unsprung weight and increases stiffness by as much as 30%. Up front, the brakes use titanium pistons and carbon ceramic rotors measuring 16.1 inches, while the rear rotors measure 15.3 inches. Czinger says the setup can also reduce stopping distances by up to 15%.Take the roof away, and the 21C's fighter-jet influence becomes even more baked into its DNA. The driver still sits directly in the center, with the passenger behind, and the whole exposed cabin gives the car an unmistakable appearance from almost every angle. A 22-pound carbon-fiber hardtop can be removed when the weather calls for it, while a dedicated roof mount allows owners to carry it inside the car on their drives. The Spyder also shares some serious aerodynamic gains. At 150 mph, it produces 3,267 pounds of downforce without the roof, climbing to 3,307 pounds with it installed. A massive 76-inch rear wing does its part, but much of the work is actually happening underneath the car, where a full-length diffuser and side splitters turn the underbody into one giant aerodynamic channel.Power comes from Czinger's 2.88L twin-turbo V8, an ingeniously compact engine that revs all the way to 11,000 rpm. The combustion part of its formula makes 750 horsepower by itself, while two electric motors on the front axle and a third motor connected to the crankshaft bring total output to 1,250 horsepower. Power is managed through a seven-speed single-clutch transmission, with the electric motors filling in the blips between shifts. The numbers that come out the other end are just as impressive: 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds, an 8.7-second quarter mile and a 205-mph top speed. There are four drive modes, too, meaning the 21C Spyder is completely in tune with its intent. Street mode can rely on the front electric motors at lower speeds, while Sport and Track gradually turn up the aggression. Track+ drops the car 25mm and stiffens the dampers by 50%, which is probably the point where public roads start to feel like the wrong place to be driving it.Czinger plans to build just 30 examples of the 21C Spyder, with pricing starting at $2.75 million. Each one will be assembled at the company's Los Angeles facility and personalized down to an almost ridiculous degree, including the colors of individual 3D-printed components, carbon fiber, upholstery and stitching. That's really the appeal of the 21C. Plenty of hypercars have big power, big wings and big price tags, but Czinger is taking a noticeably different route to get there. The 21C Spyder is unique, incredibly complicated and probably unlike anything else you'll see on any road or track. At a time when hypercars are becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish from one another, that's probably its biggest advantage. Source: Czinger Vehicles

The Czinger 21C Sets a New Production Car Lap Record at L...

One for the record books. Production car lap records at Laguna Seca typically change hands quietly, if at all. Improvements tend to come in tenths, sometimes hundredths, and often after years of gradual development. That’s why Czinger Vehicles’ latest visit to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca stands out. On December 9, 2025, the Czinger 21C recorded a blistering 1:22.30 lap time, reclaiming the production car lap record and doing so by a margin that feels significantly substantial. Nearly two seconds quicker than the previous best set by Koenigsegg, it’s the kind of result that forces a second look, even from people who thought they were already paying attention. The lap was driven by Joel Miller in a production-spec 21C, running on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, and verified independently by Racelogic using VBOX GNSS-based data. Just as important, this wasn’t a single-purpose record attempt. The same car had recently completed the California Gold Rush Rally, covering roughly 1,000 miles between tracks while setting five lap records in five days. That detail matters because it reinforces what Czinger has been trying to prove since the beginning, which is that the 21C isn’t a fragile, barely road-legal car. It’s meant to function as a real car that happens to be extremely fast when the perfect opportunity arises. If Czinger still feels like a new name, that’s because it is, at least by hypercar standards. Founded in Los Angeles by Kevin and Lukas Czinger, the company adopted a distinct approach to building performance cars, combining additive manufacturing, AI-driven design, and in-house production techniques. The 21C, their first road car, mirrors that approach. It uses a bespoke twin-turbo V8 paired with electric motors in a longitudinal layout, focusing on weight distribution and aerodynamics rather than chasing headline power figures alone. Laguna Seca has become a familiar battleground for this. Since 2021, the production car lap record has been held by Czinger and Koenigsegg, with each new benchmark typically shaving fractions of a second. Czinger’s own progression from a 1:25.44 in 2021 to 1:24.39 earlier in 2025 follows that pattern. The 1:22.30 lap breaks it. As Lukas Czinger noted after the run, the team always believed the 21C was capable of more under the right conditions, and this lap finally shows it. " width="680"> Source: Czinger Vehicles

Czinger Unveils New Documentary About Its Five New Lap Re...

Czinger’s new documentary showcases an epic streak of hypercar domination. The 21C has spent the past few years turning Los Angeles-based hypercar manufacturer Czinger Vehicles into a household name among automotive enthusiasts. Thanks to its bold, cutting-edge engineering and manufacturing techniques, its defiant approach to design, and the use of technologies like AI and 3D printing employed throughout, Czinger Vehicles is taking on the world’s hypercar giants with a decidedly futuristic approach to performance, one that has proved successful on the track before. Already, the 21C, along with its V MAX and Blackbird variants, has been shaking up the hypercar scene, but to demonstrably show off its performance mettle, the Czinger 21C has been snatching lap record after lap record on race tracks all over the map. Just ahead of this year’s Monterey Car Week, one of the world’s most prestigious automotive gatherings where the world’s highest echelons of luxury cars, supercars, exotic cars, hypercars, classics, and more come together to celebrate and create automtive excellence, Czinger took the 21C on an epic adventure across California to snag five racetrack lap records in as many days, a feat that was officially announced at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. Reminiscent of something straight out of Gone In 60 Seconds, the Czinger 21C’s 1,000-mile journey across California has been captured beautifully in a new documentary called California Gold Rush, which premiered at Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, and which is now available to watch on Czinger’s YouTube channel. The street-legal hypercar, which has more than 1,250 horsepower on tap and is limited to just 80 units, started its journey to California track domination in the northern part of the state, starting at Thunderhill, then going to Sonoma Raceway, Laguna Seca, Willow Springs, and finally taking on The Thermal Club. At each track, the 21C shaved 3.39 seconds, 0.7 seconds, 0.36 seconds, 1.35 seconds, and and incredible 10.33 seconds of the previous records respectively. The 25-minute documentary also captures the many moments that took place in between each record lap, like stops at California icons like In-N-Out Burger, the Golden Gate Bridge, Blackbird Airpark, and the Box Canyon Road. Directed by Luca Brinciotti, the documentary transparently and beautifully tells the story of the many ups and downs of the journey, as well, like hitting a tire wall at Laguna Seca, having to tear down and rebuild the car overnight, and of course, the incredible triumphant lap times set by Czinger development driver Joel Miller. As Czinger pushes the entire automotive industry boldly towards the future, its 21C hypercar is the star of a new documentary that showcases its incredible success and the humanity behind its excellence. California Gold Rush is available to watch now on Czinger’s YouTube channel. View All Exotic Cars For Sale " width="680"> Image Source: Czinger Vehicles

Prestige Imports Delivers Bespoke Czinger 21C In Miami

The streets of Miami are no stranger to supercars and exotics are everywhere, but few can get you to stop and do a double-take. This stunning Czinger 21C, delivered by the brand's official dealer, Prestige Imports, accomplishes just that. Finished in a bespoke shade of "family yellow", the bodywork and the brake calipers pop against the contrasting matte carbon components, aero elements, and the giant swan-neck wing. A highlight is the exposed carbon-fiber racing stripes, intricately woven into the paintwork. The 21C, of course, is no ordinary seven-figure hypercar. Founded in 2019 by American entrepreneur Kevin Czinger and son Lukas Czinger in Los Angeles, California, Czinger Vehicles is a brand spun from Divergent Technologies, and the 21C marks the first true reinvention of automotive manufacturing since the early days of Henry Ford's assembly line, more than a century ago. The 21C is a product of a $150 million investment in proprietary, AI-driven 3D printing systems, also known as additive manufacturing, capable of producing parts at the same speed as cast aluminium. It enables design freedom and the ability to achieve even more complex shapes, all while reducing development time, lowering cost and weight, improving efficiency and performance. Czinger believes that this revolutionary manufacturing technique will spread to the wider automotive industry, something that we can already see on the McLaren W1, which utilizes the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) to manufacture key suspension components. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Czinger Vehicles (@czinger_vehicles) Coming back to the Czinger 21C, under the skin, the chassis is made up of an intricate web of lattice 3D-printed aluminium nodes, joined by carbon-fiber tubes, shaped by algorithms and software, only placing material where necessary. To draw an analogy, some of the shapes and forms on the 21C should remind you of renowned Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí's work. Complex and organic, yes, but in this 21C's case, evocative and also futuristic. On board, you're met with a center-mounted driver seat, with a tandem passenger seat, just like on a superbike, a byproduct of Kevin Czinger's love for motorcycles. While the central-driving position is reminiscent of the legendary McLaren F1, Czinger designed the tight cockpit to echo the focus of two-up riding. Also, thanks to that tandem layout, the cockpit stays narrow, improving aerodynamic performance. On this particular example, subtle hints of the exterior's vibrant family yellow can be seen on the center marker of the steering wheel and the stitching of the carbon-backed seats. As for the specifications and performance, the 21C features a 2.88-liter flat-plane crank V8 behind the cabin, which revs to 11,000 rpm, sending 950 horsepower to the rear wheels. Twin-electric motors upfront add 300 horsepower, giving the 21C all-wheel drive, torque vectoring, and a combined 1,250 horsepower. Tipping the scales at 1,250 kg (2,756 pounds dry), you have a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, a feat that only a handful of exotics (Venom GT, Valkyrie, Tuatara) have achieved even in the hypercar world. The result is 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds, 1/4 mile in 8.1 seconds, and a top speed of 253 mph. In the low-drag configuration, that figure goes up to 280 mph. The 21C holds the production car lap record at Laguna Seca, with a blistering time of 1:25.44, set in 2021. That same year, it also set a new production lap record at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA ) with a time of 2:11.33, further improving it to 2:10.7 in 2024. Czinger only plans to build 80 examples, comprising all three variants: the standard 21C, the long-tail low-drag 21C VMAX, and the even more track-focused 21C Blackbird (now sold out). If you're thinking there's a reference to the SR-71, you're spot on. If you are among the lucky with a build-slot, or have experienced a 21C first-hand, you're part of a highly exclusive club and a movement that is redefining how supercars are built and will be built in the future. As for this particular car, it is undoubtedly one of the most eye-catching specs to leave the factory. View All Prestige Imports Inventory " width="680"> Source: Prestige Imports/Czinger Vehicles
