Restomods represent a significant shift in the automotive world, preserving an era of cars that enthusiasts collectively agree should never be forgotten. Whether it’s the timeless style of an air-cooled, widebody Porsche or the analog feel of Ferrari’s beloved gated six-speed, these cars capture an essence that is becoming a lost art form. And while we’ve witnessed plenty of bespoke restomods come onto the scene from German and Italian descendants, the industry has yet to carve out a niche for one of JDM’s most iconic sports cars, the Acura NSX, until now. The professionals at JAS Motorsports have set out to immortalize the NSX as a modernized restomod, and the team at Graham Rahal Performance is excited to announce its partnership as the official U.S. dealer for the all-new JAS Tensei. With over 30 years of expertise as a championship-winning team, including the current NSX GT3 program, JAS proved to be the perfect choice for creating a coach-built commission. Meaning ‘rebirth’ in Japanese, the name ‘Tensei’ centers itself around the philosophy of building the ultimate recreation based on the design of the first-generation NSX and the performance and technology of the second-generation.

“The NSX has always held a special place in my family’s story,” says Graham Rahal. “My father played a role in developing the original NSX, and I had the privilege of being involved in the second-generation car. Being part of this project, and introducing Tensei to enthusiasts across North America, is both personally and professionally significant.” - Graham RahalEvery Tensei features a brand-new carbon fiber body inspired by the original NSX, while retaining the hybrid all-wheel-drive powertrain and advanced chassis underneath. The biggest takeaway is that this isn’t a restoration or replica. It’s a bespoke coachbuilt commission from one of motorsport’s most respected engineering firms.
