Festivals of Speed: Mission Inn Recap

If you didn't get a chance to stop by Mission Inn yesterday, you missed a great show. Festivals of Speed is based in Eustis, Florida and Mission Inn is their home field. We were invited to be the presenting sponsor and host of the VIP lounge, so allow us to show you what Festivals of Speed is all about. Weather can change quickly in the "mountains" of Central Florida, but thankfully a nice breeze made for a perfect day. Most of the heavy hitters and the tents were in place by Saturday night, which made move-in go smoothly. A line of show cars was already formed by 7:30 am, and attention to detail placed each car among others in its class. Photos by Dylan Orluck Mission Inn has 36 holes of golf, which makes it a great venue for events like this. Orlando's car culture is incredibly diverse, but the city is plagued by highways designed before the Mouse came to town. The early risers were in place by noon, but a few late arrivals caught everyone's attention. Lamborghinis and Porsches were in abundance, with classic muscle cars and even a few vintage Harleys. Festivals of Speed has a dedicated fanbase that attends each event, so we look forward to spending time with them and our fans this weekend at Festivals of Speed St. Petersburg. Join us Sunday, April 2nd at Vinoy Park for a gathering of Tampa Bay's classics and exotics. And stay with us for more event coverage here on Autofluence. Buy Tickets Photos by Real Deal Steel

These are just a few of the treats you will find in our VIP area.Sunday marks the 5th anniversary of the event at Mission Inn, and the weather forecast looks great. Our friends at Fields Motorcars will have the latest from Mercedes, Porsche, Rolls-Royce models, in addition to several hundred classics and exotics. Mission Inn was built to resemble a vintage Spanish outpost from the Southwest and is situated along the spine of Florida. The resort's golf course offers 36 holes of golf with up to 85 feet in elevation changes. Thanks to this beautiful scenery, Mission Inn is a fantastic location for such an exquisite automotive show.General admission is only $20, and kids 12 and under are free. Located just off the turnpike, this part of Florida is truly breathtaking. The rolling hills of Lake County are the only mountains in Florida, so leave the beach behind and make plans to see us on Sunday.Purchase Tickets

Ferrari's 70th Anniversary: By Tom duPont

Dear Reader, How special is it to have two of the five “70th Anniversary” Ferrari’s on the cover. Be sure to study all five versions of these special Ferrari’s in our “Uncovered” feature. There will only be 70 of each one in honor of 70 years of Ferrari. And, note that another Ferrari will most likely enter the record books this year because a 1962  record-breaking asking price of $56.8 million. Surely, it will sell for more to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of one of the most iconic brands in automotive history. “Wow!” Somewhere in the pages of this fabulous issue you will also find the introduction of the Limited Edition “Tommy Bahama” Airstream Sprinter. Another big “Wow” for another iconic motoring brand! The rest of this special February issue will help you focus, visualize, understand, meditate, negotiate and articulate on many, many facets of the iconic marketplace for classic, luxury, and exotic automobiles. No place better than right here in the pages of the duPont REGISTRYTM monthly/12 times a year in full color, no batteries included or needed. The duPont REGISTRYTM has always been a “print-centric” operation. Notwithstanding, the advent of the internet, our print circulation in terms of subscribers, has remained remarkably constant – even picked up in the face of the Great Recession, the digital revolution and a dramatic increase in automobile auctions. 2017 is already off to a roaring start and will most likely bring even more speed to an ever-changing marketplace. The duPont REGISTRYTM stands ready to out-run the competition by combining our 31-year-old print platform with our exciting internet presence (6 million+followers on Facebook; 1 million+ visitors on Autofluence; and 75,000+ autos for sale on dupontregistry.com) and our very active duPont REGISTRY/LIVE and duPont REGISTRYTM Cars & Coffee events. We will continue to provide new and improved print, electronic and event venues for our advertisers to reach readers and vice-versa. From products to distribution, to delivery, to brand expansion, you will find the next 12 months to be exciting. I promise. There was a time when the telephone was going to replace print. That was followed by radio, TV, and now the internet. But, in today’s world, the duPont REGISTRY and its integrated media platforms are ready to lead the continuing media revolution. Enjoy! Happy Motoring, Thomas L. duPont Publisher/Chairman

Over 300 Cars Show For 2016 South Florida Exotic Car "Toy...

Despite the rain, The 2016 South Florida Exotic Car "Toy Rally" has broken all of their previous records thanks to a phenomenal showing of charity, cars and support.Showing up were a long list of special exotic cars, including three Pagani For Sale and many other boutique exotic cars that, altogether, were valued at over $70 million. The cars started off at the home of the Florida Panthers, the BB&T Center. From here, the cars ventured down the road to create an automotive spectacle unlike any other, ultimately finishing at the Goodyear Airship Base, home of the Goodyear Blimp.  An even more important showing than the cars was the 2,800 toys that were donated, along with over $55,000 in cash (still growing). Each year, this event is held to benefit the Toys for Tots charity and 100% of the proceeds go to this wonderful charity. For all of the toys, two moving trucks were used by the USMC to collect them. Now that the toys have been collected, they will be sent out directly to underprivileged children.According to the Toy Rally, they are the "largest single event donor to their local Toys for Tots USMC base" and this is the "largest procession of exotic cars for sale for charity in the country."For those interested in joining next year's event, be sure to visit ToyRally.com or email info@ToyRally.com.
