Watch Ferrari's V12, V8, & V6 Engines Compete In The Ulti...

Let's see which one of Ferrari's engines comes out on top. Since its humble beginnings as a small-batch sports car workshop, Ferrari has always been known for fitting massive engines inside small, lightweight chassis. It began with the legendary 1947 Ferrari 125s with its 1.5L V12, and the tradition continues today with exclusive examples like the 812 Competizione. And while the V12 is unfortunately making its slow exit from regular production, Ferrari has found ways to create the visceral experience it's known for through turbocharged V8 and hybrid-assisted V6 engines. With such a diverse lineup of performance powertrains, Carwow decided to put them all in a head-to-head race to see which would remain victorious as Ferrari's fastest engine configuration. The weapons of choice pulled from Ferrari's stable for the epic drag race are the 812 Superfast, SF90 Stradale, and 296 GTB. Starting off in the hybrid supercar category, the 296 GTB features Ferrari's first 6-cylinder, which is accompanied by a set of turbochargers and a 123kW electric motor to make an impressive 819 horsepower. Its bigger sibling, the SF90 Stradale, uses the same complex configuration but uses a V8 to crank out 986 horsepower. The 812 Superfast is a whole other animal, showcasing a front-engine design that houses a naturally aspirated 6.5L V12 that makes 789 horsepower and instant torque. With weight, aero, and horsepower in mind, it's hard to put your bet on any of them because of the benefits that each has to offer. While the Ferrari 296 GTB boasts a lightweight V6 design and the Ferrari 812 Superfast off-the-line speed from its massive V12, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale proves to hold the perfect recipe with a sizable engine assisted with state-of-the-art hybrid performance. Ferrari Reveals A New 250 LM-Inspired Tailor Made 296 GTB

This Tailor Made spec pays homage to the 296 GTB’s historical inspiration. The Ferrari 296 GTB is definitely futuristic. Being the first V6-powered supercar to wear Ferrari’s Prancing Horse badge, and boasting a hybrid system that comes together to make the car incredibly powerful, it sits at the cutting edge of performance-oriented innovation and engineering, and while its design aligns with that sense of futurism, Ferrari’s 75-year history, long-standing pedigree, and archive of legendary classics served as inspiration for the design of the supercar, as well. Namely, the Ferrari 250 LM played a major part in informing the silhouette and many of the design motifs of the new Ferrari 296 GTB, and this new Tailor Made example of the 296 GTB highlights that quality, with an ultra-exclusive configuration that pays homage to the very car that inspired it. The historic racing 250 LM was the inspiration for this new car, and as such, it features an exterior in red with a large racing stripe in Blu Flugplatz. Inside, both broad strokes and subtle details help bring the history of the 250 LM to life in the new supercar, from the red stitching seen on the steering wheel, to the bright swathes of Red Jeans Aunde fabric that upholster the seats. With a historic configuration, and the same historic inspiration for its design, this exclusive Tailor Made Ferrari 296 GTB is the culmination of Ferrari’s long and proud history brought to life. Ferrari's New 1-of-5 Masterpiece Honors 2004 Hungarian GP...

Ferrari unveils a limited 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano, celebrating their 2004 GP victory and ongoing innovation in supercar tech. Ferrari's latest masterpiece, the 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano, is a symphony of speed, sophistication, and historical homage. However, a new bespoke model inspired by the Ferrari F2004 Formula 1 car elevates the historical homage factor and celebrates an incredible racing victory achieved nearly 20 years ago. With its recent reveal, this exceptional model pays a stirring tribute to Scuderia Ferrari's triumph at the 2004 Hungarian Grand Prix—a victory that clinched their sixth consecutive constructors' world championship. It was a race that saw the Ferrari cars not just taking the lead but dominating the track, finishing a staggering 40 seconds ahead of the third place, and claiming the fastest lap, an emphatic testament to their engineering prowess. The Ferrari Atelier has masterfully crafted just five units of this exceptional 296 GTB, each one a limited-edition ode to the F2004, the single-seater responsible for the historic win nearly two decades ago. This isn't merely a nod to the past; it's a seamless integration of Ferrari's storied heritage with the zenith of modern performance technology. The bespoke creation stands as a vibrant link to an illustrious chapter in Ferrari's racing narrative, reimagined for today's avant-garde supercar scene. In an unveiling in Budapest, the first of the five exclusive cars was presented before an exclusive group of Ferrari enthusiasts and dignitaries, including Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur. The event also celebrated the serendipitous anniversary of Ferrari's dealership by the Lippi family in the Hungarian capital, nineteen years ago. It's a tale of continuity, of Ferrari's timeless allure, which seems only to grow with each passing year. The lineage of the car is unmistakable, emblazoned with the number 1 in the original font, adorning its nose in Bianco King white, mirroring the iconic F2004. The livery, a blend of Rosso F1 metallic red and Bianco King, captures the spirit of Ferrari's racing DNA. This partnership between Ferrari Atelier, their production team, and the Formula One division isn't just an aesthetic endeavor; it's a collaboration that resonates with the passion that has driven Ferrari to the apex of automotive excellence. However, the essence of the 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano isn't just in its striking appearance. This car is a powerhouse designed for the track, incorporating GT racing-derived Multimatic shock absorbers and a high-downforce carbon-fibre front spoiler for unmatched aerodynamic performance. The interior is equally impressive, with Ferrari-badged four-point safety harnesses and headrests proudly displaying the Hungaroring track outline and the Hungarian flag—subtle yet evocative details that speak volumes of its heritage and performance. As the automotive world continues to evolve, the 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano stands as a potent symbol of Ferrari's enduring dominion in grand prix racing and its relentless pursuit of innovation. It's a car that doesn't just reminisce about the glory days but pushes the envelope, embodying the apex of current science and technology. This supercar is a tribute that transcends time, ensuring that the legacy of Ferrari's racing triumphs continues to inspire and captivate enthusiasts around the globe. With its unveiling, Ferrari reaffirms its commitment to excellence, blending historical reverence with forward-thinking dynamism to create a berlinetta that is as soulful as it is advanced. Unveiling The Ferrari 296 Challenge: A New Benchmark In S...

Ferrari's new 296 Challenge is a game-changing addition to the brand's competitive racing series, marking its grand debut for the upcoming 2024 season. Unveiled at the Mugello Circuit during the Finali Mondiali, this track monster is the ninth model fielded by Ferrari in the history of its 32-season-long single-make championship. The development team made no compromises, significantly improving the original model, reflecting Ferrari's exceptional motorsport experience, and targeting aspiring GT racers. This isn't your standard Ferrari Challenge car. It represents a leap from modestly modified production cars to something substantially more evolved and track-focused. An array of important design changes enhances its track performance and aerodynamics, making it an extreme machine that sets new standards on the track. For the first time, a V6 engine powers a Ferrari single-make series car. The hybrid powertrain has been removed to shed weight, while the power output has soared to an incredible 690 horsepower. This car boasts a record-breaking 234 cv/l specific power output, courtesy of several engine modifications like a 10% increase in maximum turbo speed to 180,000 rpm. The aerodynamic highlights of the 296 Challenge are equally impressive, with innovations like the S-Duct and swan-neck rear wing layout derived from its racing counterpart, the 296 GT3. These advancements have resulted in unimaginable downforce figures. Braking technology also gets a complete overhaul with the first-ever use of CCM-R PLUS discs. These advancements, along with newly developed Pirelli tires, make the 296 Challenge two seconds faster around Mugello than its predecessor, the 488 Challenge Evo. Ferrari made significant modifications in vehicle dynamics as well. New long-fiber carbon CCM-R PLUS brake discs and a circuit-specific ABS EVO Track system contribute to its industry-leading braking performance. All these radical changes set the 296 Challenge apart, making it a machine that pushes boundaries while also setting new benchmarks in the world of motorsports.
