Ferrari Collector David Lee Takes Delivery of the First 849 Testarossa in the U.S.

Ferrari collector David Lee had an extra reason to celebrate his birthday this year, taking delivery of a brand-new Ferrari 849 Testarossa Assetto Fiorano. The delivery was shared in a video posted to his Instagram, thanking the team at Ferrari Westlake for making the occasion happen. The car is reportedly the first customer 849 Testarossa delivered in the United States. The 849 Testarossa represents Ferrari’s latest take on its hybrid supercar formula, combining a twin-turbocharged V8 with three electric motors for a total of around 1,036 horsepower. It replaces the SF90 Stradale in Ferrari’s lineup, while the Assetto Fiorano pack adds a more track-focused setup with performance and aero upgrades. The Testarossa name carries plenty of history, too. First associated with Ferrari’s racing cars in the 1950s, it became widely recognized through the iconic road-going Testarossa introduced in 1984. David Lee’s journey to becoming one of the world’s best-known Ferrari collectors started well outside the automotive world. Through hard work and his family’s jewelry business, Hing Wa Lee Group, he built a successful career while pursuing his passion for Italian supercars and hypercars. Today, he’s also a Ferrari Brand Ambassador, known for sharing his collection and the stories behind it with enthusiasts. One of his most talked-about achievements is assembling two complete versions of Ferrari’s modern “Big Five”: the 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, and LaFerrari, with one set finished in red and the other in yellow. Even with an impressive lineup of modern Ferraris, his most prized possession dates further back into the brand’s history. In January 2026, he purchased the one-off white Ferrari 250 GTO known as Bianco Speciale at Mecum Kissimmee for $38.5 million, adding one of the most recognizable classic Ferraris ever built to his garage. Now, the red 849 Testarossa Assetto Fiorano brings the collection back to the newest chapter of Ferrari. From a rare 1960s racing-bred icon to a hybrid supercar delivered on his birthday, there’s a reason why he’s known as Ferrari Collector David Lee.
