Bentley’s new luxury sedan gets a jolt of performance.
This past April, Bentley said a bittersweet goodbye to its pinnacle engine, the W12, the powertrain known for imbuing hair-raising performance to Bentley’s Speed models. Now that that era is over, Bentley reintroduced the Speed range with the reveal of the new 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed, which had the honor of introducing Bentley’s new Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain.
The Bentley Flying Spur is next up, with a new generation set to be revealed with the Ultra Performance Hybrid Powertrain. This combination of a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine with an electric drive system boasts a total of 771 horsepower and 738 lb/ft of torque. The new hybrid Flying Spur will be more powerful than its predecessor (by almost 150 horsepower) and undoubtedly faster, but it will also be far more efficient and environmentally friendly.
The upcoming hybrid Bentley Flying Spur will combine its ultra-luxe sedan qualities with high performance and boast all the benefits of a highly efficient high-tech hybrid. It will feature a purely electric driving range of at least 50 miles and be silent and tranquil to drive or ride in while doing so. In tandem with the 4.0-liter V8 engine, the total driving range of the upcoming new Bentley Flying Spur is slated to be over 500 miles. More details on Bentley’s latest take on an ultra-luxury sedan are coming soon, and its potential to redefine both luxury and performance with hybrid innovation is very exciting.
