Paint-To-Sample (PTS) Porsche For Sale: A High-Performance Statement Piece

Paint-To-Sample (PTS) Porsche For Sale: A High-Performanc...

When Porsche aficionados are quizzed about their preferred hue, there's a good chance they'll bypass the iconic Guards Red and instead wax lyrical about PTS. So, what exactly is PTS? It's shorthand for 'Paint to Sample,' a term that elicits a gleam in the eyes of Porsche purists. A Paint To Sample Porsche 911 isn't just another vehicle off the assembly line; it's a canvas for individuality, offering buyers the chance to own something uniquely theirs. This bespoke service isn't just about personalization; it's a golden key to exclusive events and the privilege to reserve limited-edition models before the world even catches wind of them. Learn how to sell your Porsche online today. Diving into the details, Paint To Sample is a dream woven into the very fabric of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur's program. If you can envision it, they aim to bring it to life. Flashback to the origins of this personalized service, where the mere mention of "Sonderwunsch" or "Special Wishes" on the order form would forge a direct link between the buyer's vision and the meticulous hands at the factory. Fast forward to today, and while the essence of Porsche's Paint To Sample remains, its scope has evolved. With a plethora of pre-approved shades ready to choose from and the advent of the Paint To Sample Plus program, the commitment to customer-centric creation is stronger than ever, offering a spectrum of shades as diverse as the dreams of Porsche's clientele. Due to the incredible volume of Porsche 911 production, Exclusive Manufaktur is located next door to the assembly line. Here the cars enter as rolling chassis to be assembled by hand. Not only will your car arrive to-order, but it will also stand out among the regular production cars. Someone took the time and money to create this masterpiece, so it was probably treated with white gloves. Therefore, it will receive praise from Porsche purists at events around the world. Paint to sample. A Paint To Sample Porsche 911 is just what it sounds like. If you want a car that is truly yours, the process is not complex. It opens the door to special events, and opportunities to reserve limited-run models before they are announced. What is Paint To Sample? The Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur program can make it a reality if you can dream it. In the early days, a dealer would note "Sonderwunsch", or "Special Wishes" on the order form, triggering a direct connection from the salesperson to the factory. Nowadays, Porsche's Paint To Sample has changed a bit, but "Sonderwunsch" has returned as a new customization program. What are PTS colors? Well, that's kind of a loaded question and there are many pre-approved Paint To Sample colors that can be selected, but new ones are also being created with new requests through the Paint To Sample Plus program. While Paint To Sample used to mean that the color was completely bespoke, Porsche now offers around 160 pre-approved Paint To Sample colors that are incredibly unique. The Paint To Sample Plus program is where bespoke creations and wishes from customers are granted. While this route may take longer, the result is a completely personalized paint finish. What is a PTS Porsche? A PTS Porsche refers to a Porsche that has been customized using the Paint to Sample program. Expect to see an incredibly unique and rare paint color, ranging from classic-inspired hues to avant garde shades. Because Paint to Sample is a desirable and expensive option, Paint to Sample Porsches for sale will demand a higher price. How much do PTS colors cost? The pre-approved selection of PTS colors range from $11,430 to $12,830; PTS Plus colors can cost up to $25,660. Sure, this is a substantial increase on the vehicle's price, but the result is a bespoke creation and PTS Porsches are always hot when on the market. What is Sonderwunsch? Like Paint-to-Sample, Sonderwunsch, translating from German to "special wishes," is also under the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur umbrella. Through Sonderwunsch, Porsche and its customers are able to create truly bespoke creations inside and out, with details like PTS colors, special graphics, historic liveries, detailed interiors, and more. Elferspot Spotlight: A Le Mans-Era 904, a Signal Yellow SC Targa and a 230,000 km GT3 RS

By duPont REGISTRY –  August 21, 2026

Elferspot Spotlight: A Le Mans-Era 904, a Signal Yellow SC Targa and a 230,000 km GT3 RS

Elferspot tends to be at its best when the selection refuses to make a neat argument, and this round is about as broad as the marketplace gets. The Porsche-focused platform pulls collector-grade cars from dealers, specialists and private sellers across Europe and North America, and the three we picked this time sit at wildly different ends of the hobby. One is a seven-figure sports racing car with FIA papers. One is a usable G-Series Targa in a factory color you have probably never seen on one. The third is a modern RS with more miles on it than most family sedans ever see. What ties them together is that each one gets its identity from something other than presentation. The 904 has a competition file and a factory repair history. The SC has a Paint to Sample order sheet. The GT3 RS has fifteen documented dealer services and an odometer that most sellers would rather not talk about. Three cars, three completely different arguments for why a Porsche is worth owning. GALLERY-EMBED This $2.6 million Porsche 904 raced Reims, the Tour de France and Goodwood. Chassis 904-083 is interesting long before the USD 2,600,000 asking price enters the conversation. It went to French Porsche distributor Sonauto in April 1964 and then spent its early years being raced, hard, by Claude Barbier, Valentin Aldy and Cyr Febbraio, turning up at the 12 Hours of Reims, the Rallye des Ardennes and the Tour de France. Animoya Garage in Pontiac, Michigan, now offers the silver Carrera GTS with its FIA Historical Technical Passport and a continuous ownership record backed by period photographs and paperwork. Historic use continued well past the sixties, including outings at the Goodwood Revival and Tour Auto. That competition life is also why 083 is not an untouched early 904, and the listing is upfront about it. After an accident the car went back to the factory, which fitted a replacement chassis and body while retaining the engine, gearbox and running gear. It then took on the later Series 2 updates, and the seller states that only ten cars were converted in period. The fiberglass body was sympathetically restored in the 1990s after decades in Germany. The matching-numbers two-liter four-cam engine and gearbox are still with the car, though a 904/6 specification six-cylinder is currently installed so the car can be driven and competed while the original unit is preserved separately. Worth remembering what the 904 represented: it was Porsche's first production model with a fiberglass-reinforced plastic body and a key step toward the purpose-built mid-engined racers that followed. Buy this one for the history file, not for originality-purist bragging rights. View Listing GALLERY-EMBED Was this the only Porsche 911 SC Targa painted Signal Yellow? Color changes an SC Targa more than it has any right to, especially when the color came from the factory. This 1982 Canadian-delivery car was ordered Paint to Sample in Signal Yellow 1YH over black leatherette, and Scan Automotive in North Vancouver believes it may be the only SC Targa built in that shade. Take that claim as the dealer's read rather than documented fact, but the PTS order itself is the part that matters, and it gives the car an identity the moment you walk up to it. Three owners, matching numbers, 135,200 kilometers, USD 94,000. The order sheet had more on it than the paint. A 930 rear spoiler was specified from new and still comes with the car, although a standard engine lid is fitted at the moment. Silver 15-inch Fuchs, a stainless Targa bar and chrome brightwork give it an odd and rather appealing mix of late G-Series mechanicals with earlier visual cues. Changes since delivery are minor and easy to undo: a Momo Prototipo wheel, a Bluetooth-capable radio, Rest-of-World rear bumperettes. Mechanically, this is the mature SC, the 3.0-liter in its final 204 PS European specification with a manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive, up from 180 PS and then 188 PS earlier in the run. The one thing missing is paperwork. The listing does not publish a detailed service chronology, and at this money you would want to see one. This is a driver's G-Series Targa with an unusual order sheet, not a preservation-grade car, and it is priced and presented accordingly. View Listing GALLERY-EMBED 143,000 Miles in a GT3 RS? Porsche still gave it an approved warranty. Almost every 991 GT3 RS listing opens with how little the car has been used. This Lava Orange example does the opposite and leads with 230,884 kilometers, which is roughly 143,000 miles in a car most owners treat as a weekend appointment. Jurjens Automotive in Meppel, the Netherlands, is asking EUR 129,900. Two owners, accident-free, matching numbers, and here is the part that makes it work: every recorded service was carried out by authorized Porsche dealers, and the car is still covered by Porsche Approved warranty through April 2027. The service file is what turns that odometer reading from alarming into genuinely compelling. Fifteen Porsche dealer visits are listed between January 2016 and May 2025, starting at 10 kilometers and running through 219,991. The specification is serious too, with PCCB ceramic brakes, front-axle lift, rear-axle steering, PASM, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, carbon buckets, the Clubsport Package, Sport Chrono, black PDLS+ LED headlights and a lot of carbon trim, currently on Pirelli P Zero Corsa N2 tires. Underneath it all is the first-generation 991 RS package as Porsche launched it in 2015: naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six, 500 PS, seven-speed PDK, magnesium roof, carbon body panels, 918 Spyder-derived buckets, 3.3 seconds to 100 km/h. Be clear-eyed about what high mileage does to resale on a car like this, because the next buyer will price it the same way you are. But if you want an RS to drive rather than store, this is the one in the market that has already proven the concept works. View Listing

The Best Ferrari F12tdfs For Sale As Values Soar Into Multi-Million Territory

The Best Ferrari F12tdfs For Sale As Values Soar Into Multi-Million Territory

The Ferrari F12tdf represents a very specific moment in Ferrari’s modern history. Introduced in 2015 as the final evolution of the F12 platform, it took the brand’s front-engine V12 formula and pushed it closer to a track-focused race car without losing the character that made Ferrari’s grand tourers so iconic. The name pays tribute to the Tour de France Automobile, the legendary endurance race where Ferrari dominated throughout the 1950s and ’60s, and the car carried that same competitive spirit into the modern era. With production limited to just 799 examples, the F12tdf quickly became one of the most desirable modern Ferraris among collectors. While the F12berlinetta was already an impressive car, the F12tdf took a much more race-focused approach. Ferrari widened the car’s aerodynamic package with a larger front splitter, redesigned side skirts, an aggressive rear diffuser, and active aerodynamic elements designed to generate more downforce at speed. Weight-saving measures throughout the car, including extensive use of carbon fiber, helped sharpen the driving experience and make the F12tdf feel noticeably more responsive behind the wheel. Inside, the interior mirrors that same philosophy, replacing some of the traditional luxury amenities with Alcantara, carbon fiber, and lightweight materials. Front and center of it all is Ferrari’s naturally aspirated 6.3L V12, an engine that has become one of the defining powerplants of the modern era. Producing 769 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, the F12tdf sends power through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 211 mph. But like many of Ferrari’s most memorable cars, the numbers only tell part of the story. What separates the F12tdf is the way it delivers that experience, combining a high-revving V12, sharp handling, and a level of driver involvement that has become increasingly rare in today’s supercar market. 2017 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $4,490,000 View Listing 2017 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $3,899,000 View Listing 2016 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $3,800,000 View Listing 2016 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $3,849,995 View Listing 2017 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $4,290,000 View Listing 2017 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $3,948,888 View Listing 2016 Ferrari F12tdf Call for Price View Listing 2017 Ferrari F12tdf Price: $4,299,985 View Listing

The Best Luxury Convertibles For Sale

There’s no doubt that automotive enthusiasts view driving as something more meaningful than simply getting from Point A to Point B. However, there’s nothing quite like the experience of driving a convertible with the top down when it comes to turning a drive into an indulgent experience. Manufacturers throughout the industry have created convertible models over the years, catering to luxury, performance, or often, both. If you’re looking for a luxury or high-performance convertible, duPont REGISTRY is the first place you should look, as the source for supercars since 1985. Currently, brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Porsche, and more offer convertibles. However, even more manufacturers sold convertibles in the past that are now on the second-hand market. Is a hard-top or soft-top convertible better? That depends on your driving needs. Hard top convertibles are often chosen for performance-focused enthusiasts who may want to drive their car at a track day. In addition, soft top convertibles were long considered a compromise, not offering the structural rigidity and noise reduction of a coupe, and hard-top convertibles offered a solution by being closer to their coupe counterparts. However, soft-top convertibles offer more compact and quicker folding, added style from different fabric roof options, and have evolved to offer greater structural rigidity, performance capability, and noise insulation than before.

72-Mile 2012 Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package For Sale

72-Mile 2012 Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package For Sale

Broad Arrow Private Sales continues to build on its momentum within the collector car market, offering clients a discreet platform through which to transact the most significant examples. With an emphasis on providing clients straightforward advice in the representation of their cars, Broad Arrow Private Sales has realized exceptional growth with over $280 million in total transaction value in 2025 alone. It is against this backdrop that Broad Arrow Private Sales is pleased to bring to market a remarkable example—a modern collector’s item. Preserved in virtually new condition with only 72 miles at the time of cataloging, Broad Arrow Private Sales presents LFA Number 488, one of just 64 hand-assembled examples optioned with the highly desirable Nürburgring Package. Finished in Whitest White with BBS Forged Graphite Wheels, and powered by the renowned 4.8-liter, 40-valve Yamaha-tuned V10, it is the most collectible Japanese supercar of the modern era. Although Lexus had acquired an enviable reputation for producing high-quality, four-door saloon cars, by the late 1990s Akio Toyoda, then CEO of Lexus’s parent company Toyota, was seeking to enhance the company’s rather staid image by entering the all-important supercar market. After an extensive nine-year design and development phase, the resulting Lexus LFA was finally revealed at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show; its long-awaited and highly impressive technical specification instantly rendering it one of the stars of the show. The LFA featured an intricate carbon fiber monocoque structure to which aluminum front and rear subframes were attached; the front suspension being via conventional double wishbones and the rear via a multi-link arrangement. All four corners were equipped with race-developed, remote-reservoir KYB dampers, each reputedly costing $9,500, whereas Brembo six-piston front and four- pot rear monobloc calipers worked in conjunction with carbon ceramic discs and an advanced brake-by-wire system to address the car’s considerable braking requirements.   However, at the heart of the LFA was a technical tour de force: the brilliant 1LR-GUE engine. Employing numerous lessons learned from Toyota’s newly redundant V10 Formula 1 engine program, Lexus developed a 4.8-liter, 40-valve V10 in conjunction with Yamaha; the resulting unit producing some 552 horsepower at 8,700 rpm and a similarly impressive maximum torque figure of 354 lb-ft at 6,800 rpm. Constructed from a combination of aluminum, magnesium and titanium alloys, the “GUE” was a masterpiece of packaging, boasting smaller external dimensions than a V8 unit of comparable output, yet weighing no more than most conventional V6 engines. Featuring ultra-lightweight internal components, including impossibly expensive forged titanium connecting rods, the unit generated minimal inertia; its resulting throttle response more akin to many high-specification racing engines than a road-going powerplant.   Unusually for a road car, the LFA featured dry-sump lubrication which enabled the engine to be fitted with a shallower sump and was therefore located lower in the chassis.  Its oil cooler was located in the “valley” of its 72-degree V angle, while a harmonically managed titanium exhaust system ensured that the resulting scream, particularly as the engine approached its 9,000 rpm limit, was entirely unlike any other supercar exhaust note.   Of the 500 LFAs constructed, just 64 were configured with the $70,000 ultimate-specification Nürburgring option package; the designation both a reference to the hat-trick of class wins by the LFA in the fabled Nürburgring 24 Hours between 2008 and 2010, and the circuit which had proved instrumental in the car’s development. Although Nürburgring Package cars boasted a modest power increase to 563 horsepower and a reduction in gearshift times of their six-speed, semi-automatic transmission, the real focus of the package was reduced weight, optimized suspension set up and greater aerodynamic efficiency. Some 200 pounds were saved relative to the standard car, while numerous carbon fiber aerodynamic devices, such as a fixed, as opposed to retractable, rear wing, a front splitter and front-mounted turning vanes were fitted to improve handling. The resulting performance was predictably spectacular, with its top speed of 201 mph and a zero to 60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds being instrumental in the LFA lapping the mythical Nürburgring in just 7:14.64, in August 2011; a figure which remained unbeaten for almost three years until it was usurped by the mighty Porsche 918 Spyder. This 2012 Lexus LFA is one is one of only 25 U.S. market examples that boasts the coveted $70,000 Nürburgring package. Interestingly, the original window sticker lists an additional $70,500 for its Nürburgring Serial Plate number 488 creating an impressive MSRP with over $141,000 in options. This LFA is finished in Whitest White, one of only a handful of USA market Nürburgring Editions delivered in this color. Its exterior appearance is enhanced with BBS Forged Graphite wheels that enclose Red-finished brake calipers. The cockpit boasts an elegant two-tone arrangement consisting of white trim contrasted with Red seats, headliner, carpets, and steering wheel grips. According to its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, this exceptionally rare LFA was delivered new to Lexus of Riverside in California, and was sold in January 2013 to its first owner. The LFA was next acquired in August 2017 and moved to Ohio, before eventually entering the care of the Arizona-based seller in February 2019. Over the past seven years, this example has remained in collector-grade care and is offered today with a mere 72 miles from new, 23 of which were recorded on a pre-delivery test drive according to a letter from Toyota's Motomachi Quality Control Division. It is appointed with its original delivery items including owner’s books in their leather pouch, LFA vehicle delivery certificate, first aid kit, LFA branded car cover bag, three keys, and original window sticker preserved in a photo frame. In addition, this example is furnished with a detailed history file under current ownership containing several invoices from Lexus of Chandler in Arizona. The Lexus LFA is already revered as one of the defining Japanese supercars of the modern era, the howl of its exhaust note alone echoing through the halls of automotive excellence.  However, the LFA reaches its ultimate expression with the coveted Nürburgring Package; instantly identifiable by its purposeful aerodynamic enhancements and developed with direct input from the world’s most demanding circuit. Preserved in virtually factory-new condition with a mere 72 miles at cataloging, this extraordinary example is among the finest extant and will definitively elevate any world-class collection. Elferspot Spotlight: A Restored 993, a Preserved 356, and a Manual Boxster S

Elferspot Spotlight: A Restored 993, a Preserved 356, and a Manual Boxster S

Elferspot has a habit of lining up cars that share almost nothing and letting the range itself be the story. That is what this spotlight does. The Porsche-focused marketplace pulls collector-grade cars from dealers, specialists, and private sellers across Europe and the US, and the three we picked this time cover more than fifty years of the brand, three very different price points, and three completely different reasons to buy. One is a fully restored wide-body air-cooled 911 in a color made for the 993. One is an unusually original early 356 with a family history and a movie to go with it. And one is a preserved, manual, limited-edition Boxster S that costs a fraction of the other two. Air-cooled icon, historical centerpiece, accessible wildcard.  GALLERY-EMBED 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S The 993 Carrera 4S is one of the most recognizable shapes in the air-cooled catalog, and this German-delivered 1995 example wears it well. Finished in Arena Red Metallic over full Classic Gray leather, it carries the wide Turbo body, the Turbo braking system and the continuous rear reflector, but with the 285-horsepower naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six, all-wheel drive and none of the Turbo's fixed wing. It has covered 138,500 kilometers across three owners, it is matching numbers, and BEMA Vitesse is offering it in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge, France for EUR 124,980. The color and the proportions do the hooking here. Arena Red over gray is about as 993 as a color combination gets. What gives the listing weight beyond the paint is the work behind it. After the current owner bought the car in 2020 it went through an extensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration, with the engine and transmission pulled, the clutch, shocks, hoses and belts replaced, the braking system rebuilt with new discs, pads and lines, and several suspension components renewed. The body was fully repainted, the wheels refinished, and the glass, headlights and exterior trim replaced, all backed by invoices from late 2020. Factory specification runs to the M033 sports chassis, M220 limited-slip differential, ABD, heated electric comfort seats and even the original CR-21 radio. Be clear-eyed about what this is. It is a fully prepared, repainted 4S rather than an untouched preservation car, which is exactly the point for a buyer who would rather someone else had already spent the money. View Listing GALLERY-EMBED 1953 Porsche 356 Pre-A 1500 “Number 27” If the 4S is the recognizable one, this is the car with the story. It is a 1953 356 Pre-A 1500, a bent-window coupé finished in beige over beige cloth, and it is known as Number 27. Sold new on November 4, 1953 by Jack McAfee Motors in Los Angeles, it went to Gordon Sheldon, a draftsman for Boeing and Rocketdyne who used it as a family daily driver and ran it in time trials and rallies. He was the 27th member of the Porsche Owners Club, which is where the cast-aluminum 27 plate that still travels with the car comes from, along with a pair of period autocross flags. The car stayed in the family from new until 2016, was parked in 1974, and spent the decades since in dry California storage. Its history was documented in the 2018 film 27, which reunited it with Sheldon's wife Lois. It is offered privately in Islip, New York for USD 250,000. The appeal here is continuity rather than concours. The body tub retains its original sheet metal with no stated panel, rust or accident repair, the car is matching numbers throughout, and even the original 16-inch wheels survive, kept aside on period tires while reproduction wheels carry it today. More than a thousand hours went into a documented mechanical recommissioning, logged through typed work sheets and receipts, and the car still comes with its manuals, tool kit, jack, measuring stick and period literature. The 1.5-liter flat-four makes just 55 horsepower, but output was never the point of a car like this. What matters is that this is a Pre-A, built before Porsche revised the 356 into the A, with the narrow body, bent windshield and early interior to prove it, and a paper trail almost no survivor of this age can match. This is the historical centerpiece of the group, and the one with real feature potential. View Listing GALLERY-EMBED 2009 Porsche Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 Every good spotlight needs a car you could actually reach, and this is it. The 2009 Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 was a limited-run appearance package built on the 987-generation Boxster S, and this one is finished in the Carrara White that anchored the Edition 2's monochromatic look. It is a proper enthusiast specification too. The 3.4-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, 303 horsepower, rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual, with no automatic to dilute it. First registered in April 2009, it has covered 56,863 kilometers and is offered by dls automobile in Fellbach, Germany for EUR 52,987, which puts it in a completely different room from the other two. The dealer describes it as fully documented, accident-free and free from any repainting, garage-kept, never smoked in and never used through winter or in bad weather, with no deferred maintenance and a condition it rates as close to new. Take the broad strokes rather than the superlatives. There are no individual service dates, no ownership sequence and no detailed option list quoted, so the honest hook is the preservation and the original paint, not a provenance file. On that basis it still makes a strong case. A limited-edition, manual, naturally aspirated Boxster S in original paint and clearly cared-for condition, for under EUR 55,000, is the kind of smart classic that tends to look obvious a few years later.
