Besides working on the Ferrari FXX derived from the Enzo, the 430 Scuderia was the final Ferrari road car shaped with direct input from none other than Michael Schumacher,  before his first retirement from F1 in late 2006. It is worth noting that post retirement, he continued to be involved as a consultant, working on models like the 458 Italia, California and the 599 GTB. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion was instrumental in helping the engineering team refine throttle response, the steering and suspension setup, ESP, E-diff calibration, brake feel, and the Scuderia’s Race and CST Off modes on the steering-mounted controls (manettino). He also worked alongside the development group at Fiorano, where the car eventually turned a 1 minute 25 second lap. That time placed it within striking distance of the V12 Enzo. Hailing from the famed Montezemolo era, the design foundation comes from Frank Stephenson, who created the basic F430’s architecture. The Scuderia takes his work and pushes things to the next-level on this track-focused machine. Larger intakes, increased extraction vents, and deeper diffusers all support cooling and stability. Ferrari removed about 220 pounds from the standard F430 through thinner glass, carbon panels, titanium springs, and reduced insulation. Final curb weight is 2,975 pounds.  Power comes from a 4.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 that puts out 503 horsepower. The F1 SuperFast transmission shifts in 60 milliseconds. 60 mph comes up in under 3.6 seconds, and a top speed is rated at 198 mph. This particular example, being offered on dR LIVE, shows 14,716 miles and comes finished in Nero over Black Alcantara. Original MSRP was $304,311 with $11,218 in factory options. It includes the Racing Stripe, White Tachometer, Red Brake Calipers, and the lightweight cabin that defines the model.  The 430 Scuderia came at a pivotal point in Ferrari history. With the exception of the 911 GT1, within the Porsche 911 hierarchy, the GT2 RS often sits at the very top, and it’s built upon a motorsports lineage that began with the air-cooled 993 GT2 back in the 1990s. The GT2 RS isn’t just a faster GT3 RS; it’s a different beast altogether. The 2018 model with the 991.2 generation took things to another level and is significant for several reasons. This example, listed with duPont REGISTRY, only has 7,504 miles on the clock. Where the GT3 RS features a naturally aspirated engine, the GT2 RS packs a  M64/60 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six that, with increased boost (1.55 bar), produces 700 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. For some context, the same unit in the 991.2 Turbo S puts out 580 horsepower. Also, unlike the Turbo S, power goes exclusively to the rear wheels through Porsche’s lightning-fast 7-speed PDK. It hits 60 mph in 2.7 seconds and tops out at 211 mph.  But it is out on the racetrack where the GT2 RS (Weissach) really shines. When Porsche unveiled the 991.2 GT2 RS at Circuit Paul Ricard, Porsche works drivers and racing legends, Walter Röhrl and Mark Webber, were amongst the first to demonstrate its potential. Porsche set a 6:47.3 Nürburgring lap in 2017, a record it held until the " title="YouTube video" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen> For some context, that is still the second fastest time for a street-legal car at the ‘Ring, behind only the AMG One’s 6:29.09 time, set in 2022. This particular example is finished in GT Silver Metallic with gold wheels, and the yellow calipers mean carbon ceramics, which were standard on the GT2 RS. Inside, you’ll find a black interior with a mix of Alcantara, carbon fiber, red contrast stitching, and minimal insulation. This is a cockpit that prioritizes function over everything else.  While the car comes with several premium options, it is also equipped with the highly desirable optional Weissach Package, a $18,000 upgrade when new. It replaces the roof, hood, and rear wing with exposed carbon fiber, adds magnesium wheels that shave 25 pounds of unsprung mass. The result is a curb weight just over 3,240 pounds, which is a nod to Porsche’s obsession with weight reduction. Every vent, NACA duct, scoop, and surface serves a function, from brake cooling to downforce optimization. Another distinction is the painted center sections on the hood and roof, for a more distinctive look. Another highlight that distinguishes it from a GT3 RS is the larger intakes in the front bumper, to allow more air flow for the bigger radiators. Porsche built fewer than 1,000 GT2 RS units globally, and anywhere between 450 and 500 units made it to the United States. Demand was so strong at launch that most cars traded above $500,000 at launch. Introduced in 2007 and based on the CCX—itself a refined iteration of the record-breaking CCR, the CCXR readied the world for a new era where peerless performance and environmental consciousness could coexist. The CCXR was, in every sense, the world’s first “green” supercar, one that could hit nearly 250 mph!   The CCX marked a turning point for the company: it was Koenigsegg's first model crafted to meet worldwide homologation standards, including those of the crucial U.S. market. The CCXR carried that mission forward and retained the signature Koenigsegg feature set, including Koenigsegg’s carbon fiber monocoque chassis reinforced with Kevlar and aluminum, the removable targa roof panel, and the brand’s instantly recognizable dihedral synchro-helix doors. But under the skin, the CCXR represented a fundamental leap forward. At its heart was the same 4.7-liter twin-supercharged V8 that powered the CCX—Koenigsegg’s first motor developed entirely in-house at Ängelholm that replaced the Ford Modular V8 used in earlier models. The CCXR’s version of this powerplant was specially modified to run on renewable E85 and E100 biofuels, though it retained compatibility with standard 98-octane fuel. Adapting the engine for ethanol required upgraded fuel injectors, strengthened fuel lines, revised piston rings, and recalibrated boost settings—all of which elevated the CCXR to a staggering 1,018 horsepower and 679 lb-ft of torque when running on E85. The result was a machine capable of sprinting from zero to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and achieving a top speed of 248.5 mph—performance figures that placed it firmly in the upper echelon of hypercar performance. In addition to its powertrain enhancements, the CCXR offered aerodynamic upgrades over the CCX, including optional front splitters, revised diffusers, and later variants incorporating more aggressive aero packages derived from Koenigsegg’s growing track development efforts. Its significance was not lost on the broader automotive world. In 2009, Forbes named the CCXR one of the “10 Most Beautiful Cars in History”—an honor shared with icons such as the Ferrari 250 SWB, Jaguar E-Type, McLaren F1, and pre-war masterpieces from Bugatti and Talbot-Lago.   This 2008 Koenigsegg CCXR, finished in Storm Black, is the 41st Koenigsegg produced and is one of just 11 CCXRs in existence. Even more exclusively, it is believed to be one of only three examples in the United States and is one of eight CCXRs equipped with the CIMA six-speed manual transmission—an increasingly rare feature in the hypercar realm. Inside, the two-tone cabin strikes a compelling balance between performance-focused minimalism and bespoke luxury, featuring carbon fiber bucket seats trimmed in black Alcantara with contrasting white Alcantara inserts. These elements extend to the door panels and are complemented by a black leather center console. Carbon fiber is a focal point throughout the cabin, accenting the steering wheel, instrument cluster, dashboard accents, and door sills. This example is further enhanced with the Ghost Package, which equips the car with CCXR Edition front splitter and winglets, a larger carbon fiber rear diffuser, and a dramatic Twin-Deck F1 rear wing. Subtle ghost badging pays tribute to the Swedish Air Force’s famed Ghost Squadron; once based at the decommissioned airfield in Ängelholm that Koenigsegg now calls home.   Chassis number 7041 was originally built as a CCX for the Middle Eastern-market, finished in its current livery with silver nine-spoke wheels and a “Top Gear” style wing. It debuted at the opening of Koenigsegg Abu Dhabi alongside another CCX in October 2007, and shortly thereafter went on display at the Middle East International Motor Show in Dubai. Following its appearances, it returned to Ängelholm. In 2008, the Koenigsegg was shipped to Calgary, Canada and was offered as one of the grand prizes at that year’s Cash and Cars Lottery to benefit the Alberta Cancer Foundation and Canadian Cancer Society. Louie Edgi drew the winning ticket but elected to take a cash prize of $1 million CAD instead; his small hometown of Norman Wells, Northwest Territories, possessed no roads capable of letting the 1,000 horsepower hypercar loose. The car subsequently returned to Ängelholm for storage. In 2009, the car was purchased directly from Koenigsegg and, at the request of its new owner, it was promptly upgraded to “green” specification, fitted with U.S.-spec red side markers and a passenger-side airbag, and given a new Koenigsegg “chronograph” gauge cluster with a mph speedometer. The car arrived in the United States in February 2010 and joined a private Florida-based collection, where it was driven infrequently. Chassis 7041 made a brief but memorable cameo in the closing scene of Fast Five, in which it was portrayed as a car owned by Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges alongside CCXR Special Edition 7072 driven by Tyrese Gibson. In 2012, the car was acquired by the Pinnacle Portfolio collection, joining a superb roster of collector cars. Here, it was maintained by Koenigsegg-certified mechanic Rock Ruby, who had updated the car with suspension components from the Koenigsegg Agera before Pinnacle’s acquisition. The car then transferred via public sale to a private collector in Denver, Colorado, in 2015, and changed hands two years later to a mythical collection in Oregon—once again joining the ranks of an elite group of high-end exotics. Under this owner, it received the coveted $66,500 Ghost Package through O’Gara Coach in Beverly Hills, California, the premier luxury car dealership and Koenigsegg service center in Los Angeles. Around 2020, the CCXR was further enhanced with a custom-fabricated titanium cat-back Boden Autohaus exhaust system, gunmetal wheels, and paint protection film. After accruing most of its mileage through its Oregon-based owner, chassis 7041 briefly sold to Utah-based collector “Supercar Ron” in January 2023, who refitted it with silver nine-spoke wheels, before it was delivered to its current owner during Monterey Car Week that August.   This CCXR has since resided with the consignor in Southern California. Its current caretaker has regularly taken the car to local high-end supercar shows to share the illustrious Koenigsegg with local car enthusiasts. In October 2023, the car received a comprehensive service at Yost Auto Tailoring in Costa Mesa, California, totaling just under $15,000. Here it received its annual Koenigsegg CCX service and was modernized with a JVC radio with Bluetooth capability, back-up camera, hard-wired CTEK battery maintainer, and roof storage case. Yost most recently performed the Koenigsegg’s annual service in December 2024.   CCXR 7041 is now offered with 3,939 miles at the time of cataloging and a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report confirming the car’s well-documented mileage accumulation and service history. Monterey Car Week is a celebration of provenance, passion, and performance — and Broad Arrow’s upcoming Monterey Jet Center Auction captures all three. Join us August 13–14 in Monterey as we celebrate extraordinary cars including the 1959 Porsche 718 RSK Spyder estimated at $3,500,000 - $4,000,000. Porsche’s first true post-war racing car, the 550 Spyder, was described by Christophorus, Porsche’s factory publication, rather dryly upon debut. “Unlike the normal Porsche arrangement, in the Spyder the engine is mounted in front of the back axle while the gearbox is placed behind the axle. The engine is easily accessible, since the whole of the tail can be hinged upwards.” Porsche went on to discuss the fuel tank capacity (65 or 90 liters), spare wheel location (at the rear), and maximum speed for the 1.5-liter Carrera four-cam engine (7,000 rpm).   What Porsche failed to capture was that the light, lithe aluminum bodied sports racer would be an instant hit, catapulting Porsche to their first overall World Sportscar Championship race win (the 1956 Targa Florio) and a near-countless haul of class wins for the factory and privateers alike in Europe, North and South America, and even Africa. What was officially known as the 550 Spyder became the “Giant Killer,” setting the template for future designs, the structure of the Porsche System Engineering factory race team, and the customer racing department.   Over the winter of 1958 and into 1959, Porsche would develop their latest Giant Killer, the Porsche 718 RSK Spyder. The new four-cam powered Spyder represented a major leap forward—lighter, faster, and more technically sophisticated than anything Porsche had previously fielded. The 718 featured a newly designed space frame, welded from extruded steel tubes, that was both lighter and stronger. The bodywork by Wendler Karosserie of Reutlingen was lowered to reduce aerodynamic drag, and its front profile was dramatically smoothed mirroring that of the Type 645 “Mickeymaus” prototype. A smooth, uninterrupted body surface with no large air intakes enhanced airflow. A unique detail of the design was the integration of engine oil lines through the front hood, allowing the panel itself to serve as a secondary cooling device.   The 718 RSK featured louvered panels and “Turbofin” vanes directing air to large drum brakes, while its bodywork evolved with vertical tail fins and faired-over passenger seat for long endurance races. Weighing under 530 kilograms, it introduced major suspension changes, including coil springs and telescopic dampers replacing the rear torsion bars. A mid-mounted steering wheel and symmetrical track rods hinted at Formula Two potential. Its refined four-cam flat-four engine produced up to 148 horsepower, paired with a five-speed gearbox, delivering standout performance on world-class circuits.   Over the 1958 and 1959 race seasons, the 718 RSK—with its renowned Fuhrmann four-cam engine—proved itself across nearly every level of international motorsport. It was a consistent front-runner, earning podiums and outright wins in long-distance endurance events, sprint races, punishing hill climbs, true road courses like the Targa Florio, and even Formula Two competition thanks to a center-seat layout. Its success reflects Porsche’s characteristic focus on thoughtful engineering to be a “jack of all trades” with a longer evolution and built-in reliability.   After building seven in-house “werks” cars for its factory team in 1958, Porsche began producing customer RSK Spyders late that year. Customer cars began with chassis number 718-011 and debuted in January 1959. Just 24 examples were built over the next seven months, headed to privateers around the globe looking to emulate the factory’s success. Chassis number 718-023 was one of those rare 24 customer cars. Porsche Carrera Four-Cam by Sprenger and Heinrichs lists the build specification. With its bodywork finished at Wendler, chassis number 023 completed production at Porsche’s Werks 1 race department in March 1959 in Silver Metallic over a Red upholstered interior. Factory notes record the car was destined to be delivered to the French Sonauto distributor before it landed in the United States with Roy Schechter of Miami, Florida.   Schechter was a New Yorker who earned his wings after enlisting in the United States Army Air Corps in 1944. Flying the B-24, he completed over 50 combat missions and later flew P-38 and P-47 fighters from North Africa receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal for his virtuous efforts. Upon returning home, Schechter moved to Florida and began racing with the SCCA in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing. He quickly moved to more pure-bred racing machinery including a Lotus 11 and then, by 1958, a used Porsche 550 Spyder that would launch him into the next phase of his career.   With Schechter at the wheel, Porsche 718 RSK chassis 023 was immediately successful. Entered as start number 7 in the Las Cuatro Horas de Alamar, a four-hour street circuit race in Cuba, Schechter finished 4th overall on debut. In October the RSK, now with start number 27, was entered in the SCCA’s Fifth Annual Sports Car Races at Courtland Airbase where Schechter won the main Ingram Trophy race and took a further second place in a full field that consisted of a Jaguar XKSS, Maserati 450S, and Ferrari 750 Monza. Later that month, again as number 27, the RSK was driven to podium places in all three weekend races at Napier Field in Alabama. In December, RSK 718-023 made the trek to the Bahamas for the Nassau Trophy Road Races as part of Bahamas Speed Week.   The races at Oakes Field course in the late 1950s offered a sun-soaked atmosphere for not only American competitors but many of the finest European drivers and teams already weary of the impending winter. As a result, Nassau became a who’s who of the world’s best drivers with names like Moss, Gurney, Shelby, Hill, Brabham, Rodriguez, Bonnier, and Salvadori with Schechter and the RSK included! The Spyder was entered in the F class races and that group included Ken Miles, Harry Blanchard, Johnny Cuevas, Jim Rathman, and Bob Holbert. Quite the group! Over four races that week, the car, again as start number 27, finished every race with a best of 5th in the Governor’s Trophy and an incredible 3rd place podium finish in the all-Porsche Race behind Harry Blanchard and Count Wolfgang von Trips! Quite the finish for a very successful 1959 race season. To start 1960, it is noted that Schechter entered 023 into the Gran Premio Libertad races in Cuba but did not attend. The car then took part in the first round of the SCCA National Sports Car Championship at Corry Field in Pensacola, Florida, that April. It was a successful weekend for Schechter finishing 4th overall and 2nd in class to Roger Penske in another RSK. Interestingly, Schechter’s successes with RSK Spyder 023 landed him a ride with Bob Holbert and his Brumos supported 718 RS 60 Spyder for the 1960 Sebring 12 Hours finishing second overall!   By this point Schechter had become a Porsche dealer and, looking to add a Volkswagen franchise to bolster sales, decided to concentrate on his expanding business and sold 718-023 to Tom Beil of Pennsylvania. A September 1960 Road & Track advertisement describes the car listed for $8,500 as “hasn’t been run since major o/haul. Ready to go." According to the Riesentoter Region’s Porsche Club of America magazine Der Gasser, Beil was active in Pennsylvania hill climbs—one of the many diverse racing formats for which the RSK had been purpose-built. Records show that Beil diced with Jim Haas in a similar RSK setting class records in what became known as “battle of the RSKs."   Next the RSK joined the growing Denver, Colorado, Porsche collection of Dr. William E. Jackson by the late 1960s. Dr. Jackson was an ophthalmologist obsessed with building one of the finest and most considered Porsche collections in the world. The 718 RSK Spyder fit nicely among the active Rocky Mountain PCA Region member’s collection that included some 50+ Porsches. Beginning with the purchase of his first in 1963, the collection expanded by the early 1970s to include a Gmünd Coupe, an America Roadster, Abarth Carrera, 904 Carrera GTS, a 911 R, the Sebring-winning 1973 Carrera RSR, and Carrera RSR 2.1 Turbo R9 among many others. Jackson kept the RSK in his downtown Denver warehouse for the better part of three decades before it was reportedly sold to Hervé Willems of Heritage Classics Motorcar Company of West Hollywood.   RSK eventually 718-023 made its way into the hands of Florida-based collector E. Kent Rawson, where it joined a carefully curated assemblage of early Porsche sports and racing cars. In 2006, following a meticulous restoration carried out to concours standards, the car was acquired by Peter Wirichs, a dedicated Porsche enthusiast based in Germany. In January 2008, the RSK was subjected to a detailed evaluation by none other than Jürgen Barth—veteran racer and one of the foremost authorities on Porsche history. Furthermore, it recounts the ownership chain as it was known until that point. RSK Spyder 718-023 then returned to the United States joining a distinguished New York collection, having been acquired after a lengthy and selective search for a top-tier four-cam Spyder. While with this owner, the RSK was serviced at Paul Russell and Company ensuring it remained in impeccable mechanical and visual condition. In 2013, the car was sold publicly and later appeared back in Europe on the stand at both the 2015 editions of Rétromobile and Techo-Classica Essen.   In 2021, chassis 023 joined the current caretaker’s Southern California-based collection noted for its eclectic mix spanning pre-war luxury to modern day hypercars. Incredibly the RSK retains its numbers matching Fuhrmann four-cam engine (serial number 90215) to this day. It should be noted that while the car has become a fixture on Southern California roads, it was also selected to participate in the 2022 European Grand Tour, a multi-country European drive organized by Road Scholars. In advance of the overseas trip, RSK Spyder 023 received the fastidious mechanical preparation Road Scholars of Durham, North Carolina, is well-known for, and the car was noted to perform quite admirably.   Porsche 718 RSK Spyder 023 is a rare example of a Porsche purpose-built to win and still ready to be driven in that spirit today. As one of just 24 customer RSK Spyders constructed and one of only 13 delivered to the United States, it offers more than just a stunning aesthetic; it represents a pure expression of Porsche’s four-cam engineering at its peak. At the dawn of the 20th century, the Maserati brothers set up shop in a small garage in Bologna, initially preparing Grand Prix cars for Diatto and later venturing out on their own with the Type 26. Throughout the 1920s and ‘30s, their machines regularly conquered the world’s premier circuits across multiple continents, earning them racing royalty status.   When the company sold to the Orsi family of Modena in 1937, the brothers initially maintained their roles developing racing cars as consultants, producing such masterpieces as the two-time Indianapolis 500-winning 8CTF. However, by 1947, the Maserati brothers’ contract with the Orsis had expired, prompting them to leave the company they founded to create O.S.C.A., and leaving behind ex-Ferrari and Alfa Romeo engineer Alberto Massimino to carry the torch at Maserati. Over the next decade, Massimino continued to develop dominant racers including the 250F which powered Juan Manuel Fangio to his second and fifth Formula One Drivers’ titles.   This triumph was followed by the swift end to Maserati’s factory racing efforts, spurred partially by the 1957 Mille Miglia Guidizzolo tragedy as well as the marque’s refocused efforts on building road-going grand tourers. Subsequent ownership by Citroën in the 1960s, then DeTomaso in the 1980s, and eventually Fiat in the early 1990s saw the company slowly drift away from its racing roots. In 1997, Fiat sold 50 percent of its stake in Maserati to long-time rival Ferrari, with the Maranello-based firm assuming full operational control. Under Luca di Montezemolo's leadership, Ferrari injected the necessary resources and expertise for Maserati's renaissance, enabling the construction of new facilities and development of fresh designs. Most significantly, this period marked Maserati's commitment to return to international racing competition, setting the stage for the MC12.  The MC12 project, originally code-named MCC (Maserati Corse Competizione), was conceived from the beginning as a purposebuilt FIA GT contender, marking Maserati’s return to the racetrack for the first time in 37 years. While the all-conquering Ferrari Enzo provided the foundation, the MC12 was a true homologation special reminiscent of Porsche's 911 GT1 and Mercedes-Benz's CLK GTR programs of the late 1990s. In exploiting the more relaxed FIA regulations introduced for the 2004 FIA GT Championship season, Maserati developed an entirely new, dramatically larger and more aggressive carbon-fiber body around the Enzo architecture. The Frank Stephenson design stretched 2.6 inches wider, 2.2 inches taller, featured a wheelbase extended by 5.9 inches, and measured a massive 17.4 inches longer than the Enzo. These dimensions provided aerodynamics engineers with the optimal surface area to craft the high-downforce, low-drag characteristics essential to GT1 success. Only the windscreen carried over directly from the Enzo, with every other panel redesigned for competition purposes.  Following its introduction at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show, the new GT1 challenger immediately proved its mettle. Both factory outfits (Maserati Corse, AF Corse) and privateer teams (JMB Racing, Vitaphone Racing Team) leveraged the MC12 platform from 2004 onward, amassing six FIA Teams' Championships, two Manufacturers' Championships for Maserati, six Drivers' Championships, and an astonishing 40 victories in the 96 races it entered over its seven-year competitive lifespan. The MC12 was so dominant, in fact, that many fans suspect that the ACO's exclusion of the car from the 24 Hours of Le Mans was a deliberate attempt to preserve competitive balance, with officials citing the car's exceptional length and width as regulatory violations. The Maserati’s overwhelming superiority immediately established it as the era-defining GT racing car of the 2000s and secured its place among most successful Italian GT cars in history.   FIA regulations mandated the production of at least 25 road-going examples for homologation in GT1-class racing. Maserati fulfilled this requirement by building exactly 25 cars in 2004, followed by an additional 25 examples for 2005, creating a total production run of just 50 road cars—bolstered by a dozen further MC12 Versione Corse track-only variants. This limited production made the MC12 considerably rarer than the 400-unit Ferrari Enzo upon which it was based. The road-going MC12 Stradale's technical foundation centered on the 6.0-liter Tipo M144A V12 engine derived from the Enzo, featuring double overhead cams, four valves per cylinder, and dry-sump lubrication. In Maserati tune, the powerplant produced 630 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 481 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 rpm. While this output trailed the Enzo by 20 horsepower, the MC12 compensated with a 100-pound weight advantage, tipping the scales at 3,130 pounds compared to the Ferrari's 3,230 pounds. This power-to-weight optimization enabled acceleration figures closely matching that of the Enzo's, with a claimed zero-to-60 mph time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 205 miles per hour. Power delivery relied on a six-speed sequential gearbox operated via steering wheel-mounted paddles, with the Cambriocorsa system providing lightning-fast, seamless upshifts.  This powerplant was mounted amidships in a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis incorporating Nomex honeycomb sandwich construction for optimal strength-to-weight ratios. Suspension duties were handled by double wishbones with pushrodactuated coilover dampers at each corner, and Bosch electronic aids—including ABS, EBD, and traction control—worked in concert with massive Brembo brakes (sixpiston fronts and fourpiston rears) to deliver razorsharp response and ample stopping power.   Interior accommodations balanced the requirements of GT1 competition with surprising livability, offering adequate space while artfully combining brushed aluminum, fine leather, and an innovative BrighTex fabric material that resembled carbon fiber but offered a soft, yielding touch. Enzosourced seats and a steering wheel were given a more subdued finish, and a large, centrally mounted silver tachometer with oversized numbers commanded the driver's attention as the engine approached its 7,500-rpm redline. Above, a removable roof panel transformed the coupe into an openair spider, allowing occupants to enjoy the acoustics of the naturally aspirated V12 at full song.   One of only 50 MC12 Stradales ever built, chassis number 12095 was completed in 2005—the second and final year of production. It was finished wearing the signature Bianco Fuji pearlescent white livery with blue accents that paid homage to the colors of America CAMORADI Scuderia, which campaigned the legendary Maserati Tipo 60/61 Birdcages in the early 1960s. The sporting exterior was complemented by a luxurious Blu leather and BrighTex fabric interior. The accompanying clean CARFAX Vehicle History report begins with an initial entry placing the Maserati in New Jersey in May 2014 with approximately 9,310 kilometers at the time. Showing subsequent registration in Delaware, chassis 12095 remained on the East Coast until at least 2018, receiving routine maintenance from Ferrari of Long Island. The Maserati later relocated to California, with services showing that it visited Lamborghini Newport Beach in Irvine on two occasions in 2021.   Under current ownership, chassis 12095 has undergone an extensive mechanical recommissioning by the renowned specialists at GTO Engineering, completed in July 2025 at a cost of approximately $70,000. This thorough preparation included a complete engine re-seal with front timing cover gasket replacement, new spark plugs, accessory belts, and coolant hoses, while engine and transmission mounts were refreshed alongside rebuilt oil and water pumps. Additional work encompassed replacement of the rear main crankshaft seal and hydraulic throttle bearing, clutch replacement, and steering rack rebuilding with proper alignment. The relationship between Aston Martin and Carrozzeria Zagato may seem like a romantic dalliance rekindled every few years leading to the creation of an exquisite limited production supercar, yet it wasn’t always this way. In fact, the very first pairing of the two in 1960 was an extremely practical concern. At the time, John Wyer was the Race Department Manager for Aston Martin and had successfully turned the DB4 into a proper GT race car by shortening the wheelbase and removing significant weight.  Yet Wyer, who would go on to lead the Gulf Ford GT40 and Porsche 917 programs, thought the DB4 GT could go one better.   Enter Zagato and Ercole Spada. The Milanese design house and coachbuilder enlisted the then 23-year-old Spada to clothe the DB4 GT in thin aerodynamic aluminum Superleggera coachwork, reducing weight further and, while likely not part of the design brief, yet completely expected, created one of the most beautiful sought-after GT racers of all time. Since setting the tone from its debut at the 1960 London Motor Show with the DB4 GT Zagato, the combination of Aston Martin the constructor and Zagato the carrozziera has carried forth throughout the decades, sometimes polarizing, often theatrical, and always lusted after. 1963 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation   Yes, the DB4 GT Zagato is a spectacularly pretty design, furthering Touring's standard DB4. As the saying goes, "What's fast is beautiful," and the DB4 Zagato was certainly both. Powering the early 1960s racer was an uprated Tadek Marek-designed 3.7-liter straight-six with an increased 314 horsepower over the standard 240. The lightweight racer was perfectly created for early 1960s GT and endurance racing yet, so too were the Ferrari 250 GT SWB and 250 GTO which often played the foil. The life of a top-level racing car is often a short one and no matter how attractive, production numbers are often low. Only 19 examples of the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato were produced in period, yet nearly 60 years later, the flame between the two companies would reignite in the form of 19 additional DB4 GT Zagato Continuations, inspired by the 100th anniversary of Carrozzeria Zagato.   Announced at Audrain’s Newport Concours in October 2019, the DBZ Centenary Collection would combine both old and new in myriad ways. The collection pairing comprises a track-only DB4 GT Zagato Continuation and a contemporary DBS Superleggera-based DBS GT Zagato that retailed at an impressive £6.1 million. All 19 pairs were quickly snapped up. Those fortunate enough to place an order for both were notified that the DB4 GT Zagato would be delivered first—but not before artisans and craftsmen at Aston Martin’s Heritage Division would invest 4,500 labor hours in each. Aston Martin took great pains to describe the great efforts expended to properly capture the essence of the originals stating that, “Each of the 19 DB4 GT Zagato Continuation cars are being built at Aston Martin Works to the highest possible quality using a blend of Sir David Brown-era old world craftsmanship, with the sympathetic application of modern engineering advancements and performance enhancements.”   As the first piece of the DBZ Centenary Collection, the build specification book forms a photographic record of this DB4 GT Zagato Continuation, chassis number DB4/GT/0239/L, from start to completion. It reveals the Zagato’s 1.2-mm thin aluminum body is finished in Caribbean Pearl (PPG 1318BB), a timeless period-correct shade that today, often appears on modern Astons that emerge from the Q division. Furthermore, the left-hand-drive Zagato was outfitted at Newport Pagnell with an Obsidian Black Semi Aniline upper leather interior with lower elements upholstered in Connolly Blue leather and Blue carpeting. Period correct Smiths gauges are set within a black crinkle finished dashboard framed with a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel. Intended for the track like the first DB4 GT Zagatos—yet offered with a Florida title—the integrity of the car is maintained by a lattice-framed roll cage and for the occupants, the carbon fiber seats are perhaps the only overt displays of modernity in the entire package. Elsewhere, the changes from the original are extremely subtle. Engine displacement is raised by a full liter from the original, now sweeping 4.7 liters. Engine power is raised to an impressive 390 horsepower at 6,000 rpm (an increase of 76 from the original 3.7-liter unit) with torque now an equally impressive 360 lb-ft. The rest of the technical package follows suit with a similar clear direction. The competition-specification four-speed gearbox is non-synchronized, the heim-jointed suspension provides detailed feedback through the silver-painted Borrani wire wheels with jewelry-like polished lips.   Offering stunning looks, build specification, and performance in equal measure, chassis number DB4/GT/0239/L epitomizes the soul of both Aston Martin and Zagato. Offered with a current Florida title with just 63 test and delivery miles at the time of cataloging, it is the polar opposite of a board room decision and the antithesis of assembly line production. It is an unprecedented opportunity to acquire a true limited production hand-built automobile created with all of the skill, patience, and personality of its illustrious forbear.   2020 Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato   The 2020 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera received such unanimous praise it would seem the odds of improving it to be nil—yet the same was likely said about the DB4 GT before Zagato entered the picture. It’s easily understandable. In its “standard” form the grand tourer with sports car athleticism offers an exceptional 715 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V12, that transports the carbon fiber-bodied lightweight from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds on the way to an incredible top speed of 211 mph. Furthermore, it features a riveting shape that exudes both form and function with effortless style almost expected from any Aston Martin.   Zagato once again faced the challenge of crafting a special version of the DBS that lived up to the prestige of their name for the DBZ Centenary Collection. Yet, that is precisely what they have achieved. The new Aston, named the DBS GT Zagato, forms the second half of the DBZ Centenary Collection with production restricted to just 19 pairs.   The DBS GT Zagato features Zagato’s signature double-bubble roof—an iconic design feature originally intended to make room for a racing helmet. On the DBS GT Zagato, carbon fiber stretches seamlessly from the windshield edge to the rear, where a rear window is replaced entirely by cameras and video displays for rear visibility. Echoing Zagato’s signature styling, the hood also features the double-bubble motif. Bold rear haunches enhance its aggressive stance, while a reimagined version of Aston Martin’s iconic grille and unique aluminum wheels designed specifically for this model complete its striking appearance. Just as in the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation, engine power is increased over the standard model with the contemporary DBS GT Zagato now pushing 760 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque from its 5.2-litertwin-turbo V12 power unit through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission to the rear wheels. The interior features several “firsts” for the automaker including configurable carbon and metal 3D-printed interior finishes representing “...the pinnacle of traditional Aston Martin material craft, combined with pioneering technological innovation.”   Naturally with such a success on their hands, Aston Martin and Zagato were highly complimentary of each other with Aston Martin Executive VP and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman stating “It is the modern expression of a timeless icon.” Andrea Zagato, CEO of the Design House, commented “Aston Martin’s elegance, class and purity of style have always blended perfectly with our own rationalistic design language.”   Designed in concert with the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation, the DBS GT Zagato is finished in optional Caribbean Pearl and a Dark Knight leather Monotone cabin that mirrors the Black / Blue interior livery of its counterpart. Additional exterior selections include Silver Anodized Fender Blades and Matte Black and Silver wheels with Silver centerlocks. Exterior Carbon fiber elements include Exposed Gloss Carbon Fiber Tailgate and Exposed Gloss Zagato Double Bubble Carbon Fiber Roof. Blending fashion-show energy with the thrill of bidding, Broad Arrow’s Monterey Jet Center Auction offers a one-of-a-kind runway-style auction block where 170 collector cars will be offered to an audience of thousands. Among them: a 1991 Ferrari F40, presented in remarkably original, low-mileage condition estimated at $3,350,000 - $3,500,000. Most 40th birthdays are marked with jokes about aging and wistful nostalgia—but not Ferrari's. When the marque reached that milestone in 1987, there were no sentimental speeches or over-the-hill banners. Instead, there was the F40—an unapologetically raw supercar that made clear Ferrari wasn't looking back. In the years leading up to its debut, strange-looking Ferraris were spotted on the streets of Maranello and circulating Fiorano. At the time, it was widely guessed—but not confirmed—that these were prototypes destined to succeed the beloved 1984 288 GTO. As it happened, that suspicion was partly correct. The prototypes in question were dubbed 288 GTO Evoluzione, originally conceived for Group B racing. But when the series was abruptly cancelled, Ferrari pivoted. Rather than abandon the project, the Evoluzione were reimagined as rolling development mules—bridging the gap between the 288 GTO and what would become the F40. That car made its debut on 21 July 1987, in a stifling civic hall in Maranello. Enzo Ferrari himself was present for the unveiling. As the story goes, when the covers came off, the notoriously stoic founder leaned into a live microphone and said simply, “Bello, molto bello.” An intentional bit of theater, sure, but Signore Ferrari wasn't wrong. The car before him wasn't elegant in a traditional sense, but it was striking. Eleven composite panels—clamshells at either end, functional NACA ducts, and a prominent rear wing—made clear this machine had nothing to hide. Designed by Pininfarina, it wore its purpose like armor. Yet the exterior told only part of the story. The F40 was less about visual drama than it was about experience. The cabin was stripped to the essentials—red cloth-covered bucket seats, pull-strap doors, a felt-wrapped dash and tunnel, and exposed carbon composite nearly everywhere else. Ferrari described it plainly: “no interior trim, only plain or composite material surfaces.” This wasn't about comfort; it was about connection. Beneath the rear clamshell sat a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V8, derived from the 288 GTO but thoroughly reworked. A revised compression ratio, increased boost, and updated engine management yielded a claimed 478 horsepower—delivered to the rear wheels via a five-speed open-gate manual. Performance was staggering: zero-to-60 mph in under four seconds and a top speed just north of 200. But raw numbers weren't the point. The F40 offered no power steering, no ABS, no traction control—just immediate, unfiltered response. It was loud, hot, and demanding. But for those who could rise to the challenge, it was transcendent. It was the last car signed off by Enzo Ferrari, and it felt like a parting statement: bold, uncompromised, and built for drivers, not passengers. Ferrari's 40th birthday wasn't about looking back—it was about setting a new standard. And with the F40 it did exactly that. With the initial expectation and announcement of plans to produce 400 F40 supercars over just a few years, Ferrari finally ceased production in 1992 after 1,311 examples. Just 213 would be officially delivered to U.S. dealerships in that span. According to original sales documentation accompanying the sale of the car, this 1991 F40 was originally delivered to Autohaus Inc. of Cohasset, Massachusetts, via Ferrari North America. A copy of the window sticker reveals the otherworldly specification known to many enthusiasts, and the suggested retail price of $423,250—nearly three times the cost of a Testarossa. On 29 July 1991 the car received its pre-delivery inspection and was sold a day later to the owner of Viking Oldsmobile Cadillac GMC, a dealership based in Newport, Rhode Island. The car was retained by its original owner for just a few years before passing to an individual based in New York who would retain the car until 2025, a span of 32 years! Under the long-term stewardship, the CARFAX Vehicle History Report reveals a slow and steady accumulation of mileage that, at the time of cataloging, reads a remarkable 1,701 original miles. As expected, with limited use and under single ownership for over three decades, the car is an F40 purist delight. The entire car is a canvas that reveals how Ferrari originally constructed these cars when new. Beyond the straightforward classification of "matching numbers” there are numerous other important details that appear on chassis 89653 that only seasoned experts tend to recognize or fully appreciate. The body number “48” appears on the traditionally viewed locations on the door hinges, but further still within the rear wing element edge. Given the hidden nature of this number, viewing requires disassembly of the rear wing. Few people are aware of this important marking, but a picture is on file for review. Further still, a little-known fact on F40s is the fuel caps on either side are labeled with small markings of “S” (Sinistra) and “D” (Destra) in the epoxy denoting “left” and “right.” It is essential to closely inspect these markings to ensure they have not been switched, indicating possible signs of damage. As one would expect with such an original car, the markings are present and correctly placed on the corresponding side. Beyond the hard stampings and numbers, numerous nut and bolt paint markings survive, such as the traditional front suspension stamps denoting its “USA” delivery. Additionally, the correct factory finish of black inside the rear clamshell hinges remains intact—a subtle detail often overlooked, as this area is frequently painted red on cars that have had the roof repainted. Further still, the original Ferrari and Speedline etching on all four wheels is present and clear, something which is impossible to replicate correctly, and it continues to wear a period-correct set of Pirelli P Zero tires. As the studious F40 cognoscenti know, while U.S. delivery examples carried a modicum of additional weight, they produced nearly 40 more horsepower than their European brethren. Further U.S. specification details abound. It retains its correct aluminum fuel tanks with internal pumps that avoid the costly five-year replacement cycle, DOT bumpers, two-piece seats, and is without the variable ride height system. Furthermore, the Ferrari retains its tools and manuals in leather case, which includes its original serialized service book. In preparation for sale, this reference-grade F40 visited P1 Motor Cars of Norwalk, Connecticut in July 2025 for a thorough servicing to maintain optimal mechanical health to pair with its outstanding original cosmetic condition—standards now expected at the top of the market. In the autumn of 1996, a celebration marked a milestone at RUF's Pfaffenhausen, Germany headquarters: the finalization of the CTR 2, exactly a decade after the debut of the original CTR “Yellowbird.” That car, so famously immortalized by Stefan Roser's fearless Nürburgring lap captured in the film Faszination, had transformed RUF from Porsche tuner to cult-status manufacturer. With its 211-mph top speed, the Yellowbird became the fastest car in the world at the time—and a tough act to follow. Yet under the leadership of Alois Ruf, they rose to the challenge. The CTR 2 would not only match the Yellowbird's wild ambition—it would surpass it in nearly every measurable way. Unveiled in 1995, the CTR 2 was the second generation of RUF's ultra high-performance line, developed with full manufacturer status granted by the German government. Furthermore, the CTR 2 was the first road-legal RUF model sold in the United States. Built on the Porsche 993-generation chassis, it was a ground-up reimagining of the 911's potential. The CTR 2 featured a race-bred 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six engine inspired by the Group C Porsche 962. Tuned initially to 520 horsepower, the twin-turbocharged engine delivered 505 lb-ft of torque, propelling the car from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and to an estimated top speed of 217 mph. More than just fast, the CTR 2 was a true engineering showcase. For the first time in a CTR model, RUF offered all-wheel drive as an option. Rear-wheel drive remained standard, but the available AWD system with driver-adjustable front/rear torque bias offered unparalleled grip. The drivetrain was paired with a RUF-modified six-speed manual transmission capable of transferring the immense power and torque. Forged modular 19-inch magnesium wheels framed massive carbon-ceramic brake rotors, 14 inches in diameter front and rear clamped by RUF-green calipers. This marked an extremely early use of carbon discs on a production road car. Fade-free even under extreme heat, these brakes shaved an incredible 66 pounds from the car and delivered phenomenal stopping power: 126 feet from 60 mph and just 216 feet from 80 mph. The exterior styling marked a departure from RUF's traditional understatement. While based on the 993, the CTR 2's visuals were sharpened for both beauty and purpose. In fact, Alois Ruf is quoted as saying they could be “riskier with the design” when compared with the Yellowbird. Composite fenders and bumpers replaced steel to save weight. Wind tunnel–shaped side mirrors hugged the A-pillars. The rain gutters, long a structural necessity on 911s, were eliminated—made possible by RUF's integrated roll cage (IRC) that also bolstered crash safety and reduced wind noise. The showpiece, however, was the bi-functional rear wing. Not only did it generate critical high-speed downforce, but it also housed two air intakes—one feeding the airbox, the other channeling cooling air to the twin intercoolers nestled in the rear haunches. Inside, the CTR 2 was equally refined. Leather wrapped nearly every surface—dash, seats, doors, and console—lending to an upscale feel absent in most performance machines. Specially contoured seats offered increased lateral support, and amenities like air conditioning, power windows and mirrors, and even a premium stereo remained intact. RUF achieved the impossible: race-ready dynamics wrapped in grand tourer luxury. But even this wasn't enough for Alois Ruf. Determined to push the envelope further, RUF developed the CTR 2 Sport, a track-focused evolution of the standard car. Of the 29 CTR 2s produced, just 14 were CTR 2 Sports—lighter, wider, with a more powerful 580-horsepower engine, and even more exclusive. Wider fenders accommodated beefier brakes and tires, while the suspension was dialed in further for circuit use. CTR 2 Sports retained all the aerodynamic and mechanical advancements of their siblings but added an extra layer of intent. To prove its merit and further test the design, RUF entered two CTR 2 Sport prototypes into the grueling 1997 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Built to both FIA and Pikes Peak regulations, these wide-body Sports were piloted by brothers Steve and David Beddor. Unlike their competition, the CTR 2 Sports were not stripped-out specials—they were street-legal, tractable, and driven under their own power to and from the mountain. Steve Beddor qualified first overall and finished 2nd in the race, while David came 4th—losing only to a purpose-built, lightweight special. Ordered by the patriarch of the Beddor family, Frank Beddor, this rare 1998 CTR 2 Sport, stands apart even among its rarefied peers. Finished at RUF from a body-in-white chassis in June 1998, it is one of just 14 CTR 2 Sports and just one of only four selected with all-wheel drive. Beddor specified his new CTR 2 Sport in non-metallic Black over a Black leather interior. RUF offers a very high level of customization to its clients, yet Beddor's level was likely higher than most having hosted a wedding reception in Minnesota for Alois and his new wife Estonia! According to the clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, the Beddor family retained the CTR 2 Sport until 2007 when it was sold to Richard Gundeck of New Jersey. Upgrades and cosmetic repairs were carried out at the RUF factory in Pfaffenhausen, Germany after the Sport was involved in a mishap while in transport. This refresh included the installation of a full green leather interior that covers the dashboard, integrated roll cage, steering wheel, seats, center console, shift knob, and interior door top rails and Bilstein PSS10 coilovers. These upgrades only further enhance the dual nature of the CTR 2 Sport: brutal speed balanced by genuine usability. After Gundeck's ownership, the car changed hands between two of the most prominent modern sports car collections in the world. Today, this rare RUF CTR 2 Sport is offered with just 16,679 miles at the time of cataloging along with a recent full service from RUF North America completed in July 2025. In the early 2000s, the automotive landscape witnessed the revival of the Bugatti marque under Volkswagen's stewardship. The result was the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, unveiled in 2005 as the first production car to surpass 1,000 PS (987 horsepower) and exceed 400 km/h (249 mph), essentially birthing the modern “hypercar” segment. The Veyron shattered every preconception of how fast or how extravagant a road car could be, all while disproving the notion that a truly fast car must be unruly or spartan, remaining civilized enough to drive every day. As this technical tour de force assumed an almost mythical status, crowning its successor seemed an almost impossible task. Yet Bugatti achieved exactly that at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show with the debut of the Chiron—named like its predecessor after a pre-war Bugatti racing driver. A hypercar that carried the marque's ethos of baroque excess and technical perfection to new extremes, the new model shared the Veyron's fundamental architecture—a mid-mounted W16 and all-wheel drive—but with reportedly 95-percent new components beneath the surface. Like its predecessor, the Chiron was produced in strictly limited numbers; over an eight-year production run concluding in 2024, only 500 examples were built. The heart of the Chiron was Bugatti's 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine tuned to deliver 1,479 horsepower and 1,180 lb-ft of torque—a colossal output channeled through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and intelligent all-wheel-drive. Launch control and specialized drive modes allowed the Chiron to catapult from zero to 60 mph in under 2.5 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 261 mph. Such performance was made usable by a suite of technological innovations: a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque chassis with immense rigidity, an adaptive suspension, and a sophisticated stability control system to maintain traction. Active aerodynamics, including a hydraulically adjustable rear wing that also acted as an air brake, ensured high-speed stability and braking deceleration. Equally compelling was the Chiron's exterior form, conceived under design director Etienne Salomé, who imbued the car with artful minimalism that distilled its lines into a seamless carbon-fiber exoskeleton. Drawing on the tradition of master artisans who crafted Bugatti's prewar masterpieces such as the Type 57 SC Atlantic—the Chiron's exterior was sculpted in the wind tunnel, yet hand-finished by master fabricators. The signature horseshoe grille flowed organically into jewel-like LED headlights, while the bold C-bar intakes not only funneled cooling air but also cut a dynamic side profile. Inside, a single-piece leather-wrapped dashboard swept into the center console in a continuous gesture, punctuated by exquisitely hand-stitched upholstery, machined metal controls, and digital displays. Every surface married bespoke coachbuilt handiwork with ergonomics to cocoon occupants in an environment as beautiful as it was functional. The 2018 Bugatti Chiron offered here is a spectacular two-owner example that embodies all the grandeur of its breed. It was commissioned in a truly dramatic specification of Full Black Exposed Carbon Fiber exterior—a jaw-dropping $315,000 option—contrasted by the Light Blue Sport finish accenting the underside of the rear wing and the brake calipers. The iconic "horseshoe" grille surround and taillights were rendered in Nocturne black, as were the striking Caractere wheels—themselves a $62,000 option before the additional $9,300 Nocturne paint treatment. Neatly matching these Nocturne touches are Black Anodized exhaust tips, rounding out the exterior options for an additional $15,000. Inside, the cabin was adorned with the Premium Leather & Carbon Package ($62,000), swathing occupants in two-tone Beluga Black/Light Blue Sport hides and exposed carbon fiber, further elevated by the $31,000 Comfort Package seats. A Light Blue Sport-trimmed gearshift provided a final pop of contrast, while each headrest bore the embroidered “EB” logo for $5,600—bringing the total in bespoke extras to over half a million dollars, a testament to the uncompromising specification of this exceptional hypercar. Delivered new to the United States in early 2018 through Bugatti's authorized dealer in La Jolla, California, the Chiron's digital window sticker shows that it commanded an MSRP cresting $3.5 million dollars when new. The accompanying clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report shows that the car was first registered to a private owner in Montana in May 2018, showing just 271 miles at the time. The Bugatti was subsequently registered in California in 2020 prior to joining the current Utah-based caretaker in mid-2021, having just eclipsed 1,000 miles at the time of acquisition. Now showing just 4,379 miles since new at the time of cataloging, this superb hypercar remains in excellent condition, and benefits from a recent service courtesy of Bugatti Beverly Hills. Completed in June 2025 in preparation for the sale, the extensive warranty-covered service included a complete gearbox replacement to address check engine and gearbox warning lights, replacement of the trunk lid struts, a certified multi-point vehicle inspection, and tire pressure adjustment to factory specifications. The Chiron remains under its extended factory warranty until 21 November 2026, offering no-cost maintenance to the new owner for over a year.
