Shelby American Inc. Takes On Monterey Car Week 2021

A week packed with American Muscle provided by the team at Shelby American Inc. Monterey Car Week is full of endless events and car shows displaying some of the most desirable vehicles on the market, and Shelby American was at every stop to showcase its newest models. The week began with a private showcase event for Shelby America clientele and friends at the Bernardus Lodge & Spa in Carmel, CA for an introduction of the fleet that the professionals at Shelby have to offer. The vehicles at the event include the new Shelby F-150 Super Snake Sport, in both a lifted and lowered version, as well as the Super Snake Mustang. As part of the single-cab short bed F-150 Super Snake, Aaron Shelby and brand executives were on-site to give a few words on the aspirations of Shelby American Inc. and the legacy the company continues to follow. After a lunch session accompanied by some fantastic views of the vineyard, the Shelby American team and owners discussed the plan of events for the week, which included a group drive down the iconic Route 1 roadway and meet-up at Laguna Seca Raceway.   Following the private event, Shelby American made their way to the Laguna Seca Raceway for a day fueled with modern, vintage, and historic races. The display was filled with Shelby Cobra examples, including a very special new project that the team was proud to have on-site. The first Shelby American electric Cobra made its debut at the track with owners and enthusiasts there to celebrate the event. The new platform incorporates genuine exterior and interior features of the classic muscle car. When opening the hood or trunk, the electric drivetrain of the Cobra is exposed with its battery back and electric motor stowed away. Providing a new electric driving experience for the Cobra, the new project defines the innovation and push forward for Shelby American Inc.

New 2022 Ford GT ’64 Prototype Heritage Edition Unveiled

It will be making its debut at the Monterey Car Week alongside the original prototype. The new 2022 Ford GT ’64 Prototype Heritage Edition has just been unveiled as a new model that will be available for the supercar's final year of production. This special model pays homage to the original 1964 Ford GT prototype that was first unveiled at the New York International Auto Show in 1964. “This is the first Ford GT Heritage Edition that goes beyond celebrating race wins – this one goes deep, and honors the earliest of Ford supercar heritage,” said Mike Severson, Ford GT program manager. “The Ford GT ’64 Prototype Heritage Edition is a modern interpretation of the original, with no mistaking what this car is paying tribute to.” The livery of the Ford GT ’64 Prototype Heritage Edition consists of Wimbledon White paint with Antimatter Blue graphics and a triple racing stripe. Other exterior components include exposed carbon fiber components and 20-inch Antimatter Blue-painted carbon fiber wheels and silver and black Brembo brake calipers. Inside, Ford included plenty of carbon fiber trim, as well as Lightspeed Blue Alcantara, Ebony Alcantara and Ebony leather found throughout. If you'd like to see this special Ford GT for yourself, it will debut alongside the only surviving 1964 Ford GT prototype at The Quail and on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. All-New Electric Ford F-150 Lightning Revealed

As quick as a bolt of lightning. The revival of the Ford F-150 Lightning is finally here. Ford has revealed the new all-electric 2022 F-150 Lightning and it's a real game-changer. One of the most important facts that I'm sure many are wanting to know is its acceleration. Well, you can relax knowing that this is the fastest accelerating F-150 ever created and it has the most torque of any F-150. It packs 563 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque for a 0 to 60 mph time in the mid-4-second range when equipped with the extended range battery. That brings us to another important topic regarding the new Lightning: range. The standard range battery has a target of 230-miles, while the extended-range battery will get you around 300 miles of range. When it comes to charging these batteries, Ford is offering an 80-amp charge station as standard equipment. With this charge station, the F-150 Lightning's battery will get about 30 miles per charging hour and it will full charge an extended-range battery from 15% to 100% in about eight hours. FordPass also has a network of more than 63,000 charging stations. Image: Ford When it comes to the actual design of the new electric Lightning, Ford didn't rewrite the script, and instead kept it in line with the standard F-150s. Being such a popular look, that makes perfect sense. That being said, Ford still added a litany of new features that make this electric truck stand out. Upfront is a "power frunk" that's absolutely massive, being able to carry two sets of golf clubs. Inside is a redesigned interior that features a 15.5-inch touch screen when the Lariat or Platinum series is picked. Around the Lightning, you'll find a total of 11 outlets, which makes this perfect for either a camping trip or even a work site. Another neat bit of tech that the Lightning will be seeing is Ford's BlueCruise hands-free driving tech, which is available to customers. So what's the new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning price set at? It depends. The standard model has an MSRP of $39,974 while the mid-series XLT model starts at $52,974. It should be mentioned that the federal tax credit isn't included in those prices, which would bring them down another $7,500, making them very tempting for those looking to get into an electric vehicle. Ford Lightning Returns As An Electric F-150 on May 19th

Sign me up! With the announcement of Chevrolet's upcoming electric Silverado, Bill Ford and his team have beat them to the punch. In a shocking (literally) press release, we're happy to announce that the 2023 Ford Lightning will be an all-electric F-150. The formal unveiling will be live-streamed from Dearborn on May 19th. CEO Jim Farley says: “Every so often, a new vehicle comes along that disrupts the status quo and changes the game … Model T, Mustang, Prius, Model 3. Now comes the F-150 Lightning. America’s favorite vehicle for nearly half a century is going digital and fully electric. F-150 Lightning can power your home during an outage; it’s even quicker than the original F-150 Lightning performance truck; and it will constantly improve through over-the-air updates.” What he was referring to is the 1st generation of the Lightning. These muscle trucks were loaded with every luxury along with a 5.8-liter V8. High-voltage is much like a rising tide, so the values of classic Lightnings are about to skyrocket.
