Only 50 Worldwide: Lamborghini x Sonus Faber Il Cremonese Ex3me To Make Monterey Debut

If you thought Lamborghini’s edgy design language was reserved exclusively for its cars, think again. This week at Monterey Car Week, the Italian automaker and high-end audio house Sonus faber are unveiling the Il Cremonese Ex3me, Automobili Lamborghini Edition. The debut will take place at the Lamborghini Villa in Pebble Beach, and if you want one, you will have to act fast. Only 50 pairs will exist worldwide, expected to cost well above the six-figure mark.

That figure puts the Il Cremonese firmly in the ultra-luxury audio bracket, a space that Sonus faber knows well. Founded in Vicenza in 1983, the company has earned a global reputation for its artisanal loudspeakers, often blending woodworking traditions from Italy’s violin-making regions with cutting-edge acoustic engineering.

This is not its first collaboration with an Italian automaker, having previously worked with the likes of Maserati and Pagani, but Lamborghini’s influence here is unmistakable. The finishes, materials, and angular cabinet geometry all draw from the visual language curated by Lamborghini Centro Stile, the same design hub responsible for the Italian marque’s supercars and recent lifestyle projects like the racing simulator rig unveiled at DreamHack 2025.

The connection to Bose might surprise some. Sonus faber is part of the Luxury Audio division within the Bose Corporation, which allows the brand to operate with its traditional independence while benefiting from the global reach and resources of a major audio player. Jim Mollica, who oversees this division, calls this new model a bridge between the craftsmanship of high-performance sound and the precision of automotive design.

Each unit is voiced by ear by Sonus faber’s own technicians, which means no two pairs are exactly alike. The process ensures consistency in emotional engagement, and not just measured performance. As for colors, you can choose from five Lamborghini-inspired finishes: Giallo Countach, Arancio Egon, Blu Marinus Matte, Verde Mercurius, or Nero Nemesis Matte. Each is applied with the same precision as a factory paint job in Sant’Agata Bolognese.

As previously mentioned, the cabinet’s angular form aesthetic mirrors Lamborghini’s performance-driven aesthetic, with sculpted contours, Corsatex by Dinamica trim, carbon-fiber accents, and the iconic shield logo that carries the raging bull.

Inside, it is just as serious with a Beryllium DLC diaphragm tweeter that offers microdynamics beyond 35 kHz. The 180 mm natural fiber midrange driver uses air-dried cellulose, Kapok, and Kenaf for warmth and realism, whereas the Dual 180 mm woofers employ the brand’s sandwich cone construction for deep yet controlled bass.

The nanocarbon-fiber infrawoofers handle subsonic output from sealed chambers. The crossover network features premium Mundorf components with Sonus faber’s Paracross Topology for reduced noise and precise phase control.

So if you are indeed an audiophile with a love for cars, 2025 Monterey Car Week presents a rare opportunity to acquire a high-end audio system that is truly unique, functional, and highly exclusive, infused with Lamborghini’s signature visual style and backed by a global audio giant.
