Watch Jay Leno Check Out The New 1,064 HP Chevrolet Corve...

One of the biggest celebrity car collectors gets a taste of the new ZR1’s performance. Jay Leno is not only one of Hollywood’s most prominent comedians, but he is also one of the automotive world’s biggest names. He has an immense car collection and a show that highlights some of the best the automotive industry has to offer, old and new. In a new episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, Leno shows off one of the newest American performance sensations: the C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Historically, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is the pinnacle of Corvette performance, with track-ready character and immense power that shows off the best American high-performance automotive engineering has to offer. The newest generation of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 brings the ZR1’s uncompromised performance brief to the new, first-ever mid-engined generation of the Corvette, and the result is exciting. Its twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 engine boasts an unthinkable 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb/ft of torque. With aggressive carbon fiber aerodynamics and even carbon fiber wheels, it’s designed to achieve the greatest performance of any Corvette model yet. Jay Leno brought GM’s President, Mark Reuss, onto Jay Leno’s Garage to experience the new ZR1 and to show how far the Corvette has come, it was placed alongside Reuss’ father’s 1960s Corvette, which featured the 427 engine and a two-speed Powerglide transmission, which both pushed the boundaries of performance at the time. In the video, Reuss gives Leno an in-depth tour of the new ZR1, showing off every aspect of the new American supercar that makes it one of the greatest Corvettes yet. With its groundbreaking engineering, a new mid-engined platform, and undeniable performance legacy, the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is a milestone in American automotive history, and you can watch Jay Leno take a close look at it now. Jay Leno Drives a 1999 Corvette

30 MPG will make you smile When the 5th-generation (C5) Corvette arrived in late 1996, Chevrolet had been working on it since 1985. The development process was the biggest project at Chevrolet since the Grand Sport, and it was revolutionary. Let's watch Jay Leno take one for a spin because you might not realize what a bargain they are. If you have a dozen grand sitting around, you don't need to be Kevin Hart to drive one! My 2003 example was an Indy Pace Car, and it could touch 31 mpg back when premium was over $4/gallon. Under the fiberglass is a fully hydroformed frame. Essentially the tubes are formed into the car's shape after being injected with water at several thousand PSI. This allowed the C5 Z06 to weigh in at 3,118 lbs with Bose Audio and a manual transmission. The automatic is ok, just essentially unchanged since 1982. Because they are so cheap, they make a great daily driver, and they will make 400 horsepower with a few hours of work. Jay Leno C6 RS

Jay Leno Drives his Corvette C6RS

Winning is nothing new for Team Corvette. With back-to-back victories at Sebring and Daytona, they are poised to repeat the same successes of the C5R and C6R teams. Before we lost him, even the great Dale Earnhardt had signed up to take Chevrolet Racing back to victory lane. The cars were highly modified production Corvettes that were transformed by the engineers at Pratt & Miller. The same team also responsible for prepping the CTS-V for the Nurburgring also decided to build a small batch of street-legal Corvettes. Jay Leno’s Car Collection Starting with a C6 donor, they would build you a supercar for $189,000. Only six were built, so we're glad Jay Leno drives his Corvette C6RS. No turbos or supercharger, just 500 inches (8.2-liters) of American freedom. It makes 600 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque on 93 octane, and Jay had this one tuned for E85 so it makes much more. Pratt & Miller will still build you a 500 inch LS motor, so tell them were you saw this and stay with us for all your Jay Leno uploads. Browse Corvette For Sale " width="680">

Jay Leno Shows Off Blue 2020 Corvette Stingray

Our favorite denim enthusiast was caught in khakis at the new Corvette reveal. He was given access to the car along with Corvette Chief Engineer Ed Piatek. In a teaser for his show's new season, Jay Leno shows off a blue 2020 Corvette Stingray. Ed reveals how practical the 8th generation Corvette is, starting with the trunk. This unique space behind the engine can hold 2 sets of golf clubs, or the Targa roof panel. Because the engine is behind the cockpit, the 2020 Corvette is comfortable for taller customers. The squared-off steering wheel and low door sill make entry and exit much easier. We'll have to wait for a proper road test since his new season premiers August 28th.
