Top Speed Agera

Cockpit Video of Koenigsegg Agera Top Speed Run

Nevada is the perfect place for legal attempts at top speed. Races like the Silver State Classic are allowed to run flat out across the desert.  Highway 160 runs straight from Las Vegas into Death Valley, with a slight downhill grade heading to the lowest spot in the nation. Always up for a challenge, Christian von Koenigsegg and company decided to attempt the top speed record for a production car. All Records Broken by the Koenigsegg Agera RS He tapped Touring Car master Niklas Lilja to pilot an Agera RS. An average speed of two runs is used to calculate the true top speed, and last month they released a dashcam video of the fastest run. We've been waiting for cockpit footage, and it was finally uploaded to YouTube this morning. We can see the car has been outfitted with VBox telemetry including a data logger and several cameras. To keep the driver safe, a 5-point harness is integrated into a roll cage. You might think the differential gears were swapped for a lower ratio, but the engine simply makes enough power to not care what gears are behind it. All Records Broken by the Koenigsegg Agera RS

Koenigsegg has broken the world record for the fastest production car with high-speed runs accomplished by the Agera RS hypercar. During the runs, Koenigsegg did more than just break one record, they broke multiple records. In a blog post from Koenigsegg, they document each of the records that were broken. They are:The High Top Speed for a Production Vehicle - "Calculated using an average of two runs, one in either direction. The record speed achieved is 446.97 km/h (277.87 mph)"0-400-0 km/h - "The 0-400-0 km/h run was completed in 33.29 seconds, beating the previous time of 36.44 seconds set by the same car in Denmark in October 2017."Flying Kilometer on a Public Road - "The highest average speed for a flying kilometer on a public road, calculated after running the car in two directions – 445.54 km/h (276.9 mph)."Flying Mile on a Public Road - "The highest average speed for a flying mile on a public road, calculated after running the car in two directions – 444.66 km/h (276.36 mph)."High Speed Achieved on a Public Road - "Single direction recorded. Measured at 457.49 km/h (284.55 mph)."Congratulations to Koenigsegg and their incredible world records!Click to Sell Your Luxury Car

Koenigsegg Agera RS is Now the World's Fastest Car

Koenigsegg has smashed the record for the world's fastest production car with an incredible run by the Agera RS. The world record for the fastest production car has been quite storied recently. Bugatti broke the record with the Veyron Super Sport running at 258 mph. Shortly thereafter the Hennessey Venom GT ran 265.7 mph, but it did not complete the run in the opposite direction, disqualifying it from contention. Now, an Agera RS completed two runs on a closed road in Nevada, hitting a top speed of 284 mph. With these runs, the Koenigsegg Agera RS is now the fastest production car in the world. You can see the record runs in their entirety in the video below. Will the new Hennessey Venom F5 break this record? We'll have to wait and see! Exotic Cars for Sale

Koenigsegg Owners Tour 2017

If you weren't in Sweden last weekend, you missed out on 2017 Koenigsegg's Owners Tour. This yearly event is a way for Christian von Koenigsegg and his employees to thank their loyal customers.Nineteen cars from around the world came together for three days of carbon fiber fun. The largest gathering to date, the attendees arrived with 4 CCR’s, 6 CCX’s, 2 CCXR’s, 1 Agera, 2 Agera R’s, 3 Agera RS’s and a One:1 on the tour.Mr. von Koenigsegg was happy to see his creations again, saying: “This is amazing, and a little bit humbling, to be honest. We have a wonderful cross-section of Koenigsegg history here, nearly every generation of car we’ve ever made is represented. And the people just love them. It’s a great reminder of the progress that we’ve made, the friends we’ve made – our customers become friends as we go through the building process and it’s wonderful to see those relationships grow – and also the people who have helped to get us here.”Koenigsegg only builds a handful of cars each year because their focus is on quality and pushing the boundaries of automotive technology. From dihedral doors to a solid-state electrical system, no detail is overlooked. It would cost millions for the big automakers to compete with such innovations, which is how Koenigsegg have carved out a sizable niche in the supercar market. Their latest model (Regera) has made the transmission obsolete. It will take several decades for normal cars to have such advancements, so for now take a look at Koenigsegg for sale and stay with us for all your exotic car news.

Koenigsegg Regera is Now Officially Sold Out

Were you about to head over to Ängelholm, Sweden to talk to Christian von Koenigsegg about ordering a new Koenigsegg Regera? I have bad news for you, because Koenigsegg announced today (June 13, 2017) that all of the Regeras are sold out.Yes, that means all 80 units of the Regera hypercar that Koenigsegg plans to make have been spoken for, making it the largest single vehicle series in the automaker's history.“The Regera is a new high watermark for Koenigsegg Automotive” said company founder and CEO, Christian von Koenigsegg. “It has been our greatest technical challenge and as such, it is also our greatest technical triumph. That our customers and dealers have seen and appreciated the work we’ve done on the Regera is a source of great pride for everyone at Koenigsegg.”The Koenigsegg Regera is not only extremely limited, but also extremely...extreme. This new hypercar car combines a twin-turbo V8 engine with electric motors to produce an astonishing 1,500 horsepower and 1,475 lb-ft of torque. This power, along with the new Koenigsegg Direct Drive transmission, the Regera can rocket from 0 to over 248 mph in just about 20 seconds. That's just insanity. So, congratulations to the 80 that claimed the Regeras-- if you're ever in Florida, I'd be more than willing to drive you around in your new hypercar.

Original Koenigsegg Agera RS Prototype Revs Loud and Proud

A one-of-one Koenigsegg Agera RS Prototype lit its exhaust up for the crowd during Supercarsunday, giving them a taste of the Swedish hypercar. The Agera RS was regarded as the model that would take the Agera to a whole new level when it was released back in 2015. Modifications made to the car include a new front splitter and winglets, side skirts, dynamic underbody flap system, lightweight sound insulation and a dynamic active rear wing. Koenigsegg has also increased its power to 1,160 bhp, as well as its RPM limit. The Swedish automaker also notes that its engine can be modified to run on E85 gasoline with flex fuel for added power.Even with all that muscle under the hood, the Agera RS can give a driver the best of both worlds; the car is equally capable on the racetrack and the road. Koenigsegg notes that this model complies with “the latest safety standards and other necessary homologation features.” If you want to add this beast to your collection, it's too late because they're all already sold out.Koenigsegg Agera RS Prototype Startup, Revs and Accelerations

Bordeaux Koenigsegg Regera is a Tall Glass of Wine

Koenigsegg has started a new series of Facebook posts that shows how their employees would customize their own Regera hypercar. The second Regera in this series was created by Johan B., Koenigsegg's Sales Director for Continental Europe and Nordic countries.(Purple Koenigsegg Regera Pays Homage to Prince)For Johan's Regera, he chose for the exterior to don a Bordeaux-tinted carbon fiber finish. This deep red carbon fiber exterior is separated by a naked carbon fiber stripe running down the center, as well as gold leaf striping. The Facebook post for this car notes: "Johan has French roots and the deep red finish will be like driving around in a glass of fine French red wine (with no blood-alcohol content, of course!!)."Inside, this Regera has a creamy interior made of a cappuccino/coffee color combination. So, on the outside you have a deep exterior that resembles a glass of wine, while the interior resembles a cup of coffee. Are you thirsty yet?All Koenigseggs For Sale

Purple Koenigsegg Regera Pays Homage to Prince

Koenigsegg has started a new series of Facebook posts that shows how their employees would customize their own Regera hypercar. The first of the series shows a Regera that is dedicated to the late music star, Prince.(Also Check Out - Christian von Koenigsegg Gives Update on Regera Hypercar)This car was designed by Steven Wade, who is in charge of Koenigsegg's communications and copywriting. He said in the post: "Vöx will laugh at me (as might a million others), but I've chosen a purple carbon exterior finish, with white striping and clear carbon side intakes. I'm a massive Prince fan (still grieving) and I've always loved our cars in purple. I was tempted to go with gold leaf stripes, like the purple/gold combination of chassis 7094, but I think the gold works better with paint rather than tinted carbon. Inside I've gone for 'snow' leather with a basket weave pattern on the seats. Yes, anyone who got into the car would have to be impeccably clean :-) The stitching on these seats is blue, but it'd be purple on the real thing. White calipers behind my carbon wheels finish the look. Now all I have to do is start saving!"Honestly, I'm in love with the design of this car. I feel like the world needs more purple supercars/hypercars, and this should be one of them. My love for purple cars most certainly started with the purple of the  Lamborghini Diablo SE30 and was reignited by Dodge's Plum Crazy Purple revival.Wade, you designed one heck of a beautiful car.Sports Cars For Sale
