The Lamborghini Temerario GT3 is Lamborghini’s latest racing machine, and it made its debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March. Set alongside its roadgoing counterpart, the plug-in-hybrid Lamborghini Temerario supercar with over 900 horsepower shared between a high-revving twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 and an electric system. Providing an insider’s perspective on the relationship between the two cars regarding design and engineering, Mitja Borkert, Lamborghini’s Director of Design, provided insight behind the engineering of the Temerario GT3.
About the car, Borkert says, “The Temerario GT3 is a proud result of the collaboration between the Squadra Corse racing department and Centro Stile. Lamborghini is always about design and performance, and we transferred the road-going Temerario DNA into a car conceived to race at the highest GT international level.”
Both the roadgoing Temerario and its GT3 counterpart are designed with adrenaline and pure performance thrill in mind, but one of the major differences is that the GT3 car is non-hybrid, as FIA’s GT3 racing regulations specify. In addition, the GT3 car features lightweight bodywork with quick release sections for quick servicing during racing weekends while maintaining the Temerario’s signature athletic style.

While each car is tailored towards performance on the road and for the strict regulations required for track racing, both the Temerario and the Temerario GT3 are created with Lamborghini’s rich performance legacy and spirit of innovation and driving joy in mind.
