For the past 11 years, Automobili Lamborghini’s Polo Storico department has served as the link between its past and future, managing the brand’s historical archive while also certifying and restoring classic Lamborghinis from all around the world. 60 years ago, one of those quintessential Lamborghinis that helped pave the way was the beloved Miura, conceived by Lamborghini engineers Gian Paola Dallara and Paolo Stanzani and designed by Marcello Gandini, against the wishes of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, who preferred Grand Tourers.
To celebrate, Lamborghini Polo Storico hosted the 2026 Polo Storico Giro, a driving tour that brought together Miura collectors from around the globe for a memorable road trip across northern Italy. Covering more than 300 miles through regions like Piedmont, Liguria, Tuscany, and Emilia-Romagna, the event showcased a timeline of Lamborghini supercars on some of the country’s most scenic roads, historic towns, and legendary driving routes.
Polo Storico Giro is all about getting these vintage Lamborghinis out on the road where they belong. The convoy featured nearly every evolution of the legendary V12 supercar, from the early P400 to the Miura S and the highly desirable SV. One of the biggest highlights was an ultra-rare Miura SVJ, which will now become part of the exhibition at Lamborghini’s museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Another standout was one of the original Miura SV development prototypes. Even decades later, the Miura remains recognized as one of the most beautiful and influential supercars ever built.
Owners cruised through the Langhe hills, stopped along the Ligurian coast near Portofino, crossed Tuscany past Carrara and Florence, and drove the famous Futa and Raticosa mountain passes before arriving at Imola for Lamborghini Arena. Along the way, guests experienced Michelin-starred dinners, local Italian culture, and the soundtrack of vintage Lamborghini V12 engines echoing through the roads of Italy.
