Lamborghini Unveils Urus Off-Road Package

Many owners of Lamborghini's latest SUV probably won't punish them with off-road antics. But if you need a family hauler with grip in all situations, Lamborghini has unveiled the Urus off-road package, and it is ready for any situation. Announced on their news page this weekend, the new package starts with ride height. If you need to take on an obstacle, you will have 9.8" of ground clearance. This increases the approach angle from 20.3 to 27.9, and departure is up to 28.3 from 26.8 degrees. We already knew it would have more driving modes than their cars, and now they are explained. Sabbia locks the differentials for fun in gravel or sand, and Terra is meant for crawling up tough trails. The optional washing package keeps the windshield, headlights, and cameras clean, allowing you to see the adventure ahead. Lamborghini Urus: Carbon Fiber for Your Dynamic Lifestyle

It was no great surprise that the Lamborghini Urus allowed the brand to have its best sales year ever. The Urus is a bold entry into the SUV market. It is mean, fast, and unique....And we can't get enough of it. Because it is such a different product than their supercars, the factory wants to offer the same options for customers who want a custom touch. That's why they uploaded "Urus in Pills: Dynamic Lifestyle" on YouTube earlier today. The video highlights two new carbon fiber packages for the body. A news release on their homepage doesn't allude to the title, but it does describe each carbon package in detail. READ: Lamborghini Urus Price & Specs The lower carbon fiber package includes a new front spoiler, rocker panels, and a rear diffuser. If you need it all, the upper kit has fender flares, tailgate trim, and a rear spoiler. A new set of 23" forged wheels is an industry-first, and a nice finishing touch for the Urus. Lamborghini Smashed Sales Records in 2018

If your car company needs a nice boost, do what Lamborghini did. Adding an SUV to your lineup is a recipe for success. While the arrival of the Urus was certainly a statement to the world, their press release highlights improvements to each model. Starting with the most impressive data, eight consecutive years of growth have culminated in a 51% sales increase. The home of the Raging Bull sold 3,815 cars in 2017 and 5,750 last year. This was facilitated by doubling the factory size to create a new assembly line for the Super SUV. The Urus attributed to 1,761 of those sales, certainly impressive for a new model. While they sell cars in 50 countries, the USA remains their most significant market by a long shot. Ceo Stefano Domenicali has reason to celebrate. The Urus was also joined by the Aventador SVJ and the Huracan Performante Spyder. Lessons learned on both were used to develop the Huracan Evo in secret. They saved it for the new year to get 2019 off to a great start. Domenicali had this to say: “In 2018, Lamborghini entered new dimensions. We delivered not only another sales increase, but reached substantially new levels in surpassing by far the magic mark of 5,000 Lamborghinis sold. This quantum leap proves the sustainability of our product and commercial strategy. The performance is all the more remarkable as we mastered an unprecedented double challenge: constantly bringing new models and technologies to the super sports car market, while simultaneously managing doubled production capacities at our headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Right from its sales start, the new Super SUV Urus created enthusiastic market acceptance and broadened our customer base. We also significantly increased our high brand awareness, especially with the young generation, having multiplied our followership on our social media channels to more than 32 million. All this is a real team achievement and I would like to thank every Lamborghini team member for their inspiration and dedication to our brand.” Unlike their Italian competitors, Lamborghini doesn't limit their models production. If you can dream it, they will build it without any silly VIP list or prerequisites. Congrats to everyone at Sant’Agata Bolognese, how's about a stick shift Huracan Spyder? Just kidding, their dual-clutch is perfect. If you don't believe me click the link below and find out for yourself. Lamborghini Urus & LM002: Road Trip For Christmas Trees

Workers at the Lamborghini factory wanted to spruce up their headquarters for the Holidays. Sure they could've taken a utility truck, but they build a super SUV. Taking a page from their history book, a new Lamborghini Urus was joined by a classic LM002 on an Alpine expedition. A press release this morning outlined the 460-mile journey to the ancient city of Bruneck. Their goal was the perfect tree, but they also took time to do some shopping along the picturesque streets. The Urus has 650 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. The latter is available from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm, so it could probably rip the tree out without breaking a sweat. 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV by Bertone to be offered ...

Before the introduction of the Lamborghini Miura at the 1966 Geneva Salon, the term “supercar” simply did not exist. The Miura heralded the beginning of a new age in automotive history, and visually, it looked like nothing else on the road. The designer, Marcello Gandini, was just 27 years old when he penned its stunning design for Bertone, and his work encapsulated the youthful spirit of the age and the power lying behind the bodywork. The Miura’s design was indebted to its engine placement, with the V-12 mounted transversely directly behind the passenger compartment. Not only did this allow for a highly attractive silhouette, but it also gave the Miura incredible balance and weight distribution. Like many supercars that have followed in its footsteps, the Miura evolved over time, and the last iteration, the Miura P400 SV, was the most developed and potent. The suspension was also revised slightly to help reduce the “front-end lightness” that characterized the handling of earlier cars, and the rear bodywork was widened for a more aggressive stance. The engine was also addressed, and the SV was fitted with larger carburetors and featured different cam timing, helping to make the SV more user-friendly at lower RPMs. Needless to say, performance remained incredible, and the SV could outrun just about everything on the road when new. Producing a total of 385 hp, the SV could sprint from 0–60 mph in just 5.8 seconds. On a wide-open stretch of road, the Miura could reach a top speed of 180 mph. Completed on 29 October 1971, this P400 SV, chassis no. 4912, was originally finished in Bleu Medio over a Pelle Bleu interior and was shipped new to the U.S. through Modena Car U.S.A. Notably, it was the only Miura SV to be finished in that color according to Joe Sackey’s definitive tome, The Lamborghini Miura Bible. Furthermore, it is one of 11 single-sump Miura SVs to be fitted from new by the factory with optional air conditioning and one of just five examples equipped as such delivered stateside. Chassis 4912 resided in Texas as of 1977 under the ownership of Pedro A. Rubio but had left his ownership by 1979. It is believed that the car remained in the U.S. until at least 1992. At that time, the car was imported from the U.S. to Japan by the Tokyo Pipe Co. Ltd. The car remained in Japan for the next 20 years, and during this time, it remained largely in static storage. By 2011, it was sold to a Mr. Yamaguchi of Tokyo, then returned back to the U.S. It has since been the recipient of a full cosmetic restoration to original colors by Bodie Stroud, and mechanical work was done by the owner’s personal shop that services many street and race cars. During this time, the engine was reported to have strong compression, so only top end work was carried out. All electronics were looked after, and even a correct SV steering column was sourced. Since completion, it has been shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the San Marino Motor Classic, and the Father’s Day show on Rodeo Drive. When shown, it was only for display and not judged. Without the Miura, it can be argued that Lamborghini might not even exist as a company today. Its importance to the automotive world simply cannot be overstated. Chassis no. 4912 is an excellent driver’s Miura and would surely put a smile on the faces of any driver and passenger at speed. Furthermore, considering its incredible original specification and superb concours restoration, it is sure to attract even more attention and awards wherever it is shown and admired. It is without a doubt one of the finest SVs available – glistening in its original Bleu Medio with stunning gold wheels. This Lamborghini will be offered at RM Sotheby’s Petersen Automotive Museum Auction, to be held on Saturday 8 December 2018.
