Outside of motorsport and the fast-paced world of Formula 1, professional golf might be one of the best places for watch spotting. From Rolex to Richard Mille, the course doubles as a laid-back showcase for some serious wristwear. That was especially true this year at The Masters Tournament in Augusta, where it wasn’t just the players doing the talking. Wives and girlfriends were spotted in everything from diamond-set Patek Philippe pieces to Everose gold Rolex Day-Date models and classic Cartier models, proof that Augusta might be one of the most underrated watch-spotting scenes around.
But, even more impressive than the watches themselves was Rory McIlroy defending his 2025 title at The Masters, securing a back-to-back win at one of professional golf’s most prestigious tournaments. And the choice of watch to immediately celebrate the occasion was one of Omega's most coveted models.
Securing his first green jacket last year in a playoff against Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy joined a short list of players to achieve the feat in the 90-plus-year history of The Masters Tournament, alongside legends like Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, and Tiger Woods. This year played out in familiar fashion. McIlroy made his move down the stretch with Scottie Scheffler and Rose within reach, setting up a tense, all-eyes-on-18 finish.
Back at Augusta National Golf Club, McIlroy slipped on the iconic green jacket and hoisted the trophy, wearing a $237,000 gold Omega De Ville Central Tourbillon, a subtle switch from the Omega Speedmaster Snoopy he had on his wrist just a year ago. Another historic end to The Masters as we start the countdown until next year, where we could very possibly witness the first-ever three-peat.
