Jacob & Co. Reveals Its $1.2M Bugatti Tourbillon Sapphire Watch
For as long as both have existed, watches and cars have kind of gone hand in hand, both engineered around precision and performance, naturally connecting speed on the road to seconds on the wrist. That crossover has led to some seriously iconic luxury collaborations, like Jacob & Co. teaming up with Bugatti, where some of the world’s fastest hypercars have directly inspired wild, ultra-exclusive watch designs. Witnessing history in the making, we’ve watched the Chiron set the tone for both brands, and now, the Jacob & Co. Bugatti Tourbillon carries that torch with a completely bespoke design inspired by the all-new Bugatti V16 powerplant. Two years since its debut, Jacob & Co. is pleased to continue evolving the collection with the new Bugatti Tourbillon Sapphire Crystal.Instead of using traditional, high-end materials like titanium or gold, the entire 54 x 44 mm case is carved from solid sapphire crystal, resulting in a completely transparent design that reveals every moving part inside. Sapphire ranks just below diamond on the Mohs hardness scale, making it incredibly scratch-resistant but notoriously difficult to machine. Each case component, from the bezel to the caseback, starts as a solid block and requires over 800 hours of precise cutting, drilling, and polishing. The watch case mirrors Bugatti’s signature designs, from the horseshoe grille to the side window profile, all while showcasing mechanical movement from every angle.That transparency brings the in-house JCAM55 movement into full view, designed to resemble Bugatti’s all-new V16 engine. At its core is a miniature sapphire engine block, complete with 16 titanium pistons driven by a crankshaft that springs to life. Paired with a fast 30-second tourbillon and an 80-hour power reserve, the watch mixes horology with hypercar engineering. Even the dial layout pulls from the car’s dashboard, with retrograde hour and minute hands imitating an RPM counter. Limited to just two pieces in signature green and baby blue, the Bugatti Tourbillon Sapphire Crystal comes with a jaw-dropping price tag of $1.2 million.
