The New Maserati GranTurismo Folgore Prototype Takes A Tr...

Maserati is recharging the Gran Turismo with an all-electric model. Dubbed “Folgore,” which is Italian for “lightning,” the new all-electric series of Maserati is slated to start with the Grecale and the new GranTurismo. And it looks like that start is going to happen soon, with a GranTurismo Folgore prototype being seen out on the street. Fittingly, the GranTurismo Folgore prototype was used to drive to Rome’s Formula E circuit, where Maserati is the first Italian brand to enter the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Maserati is also going to be the first Italian luxury brand to make 100% electric models, with its goals of having a fully developed electric line by 2025, with the transition to electric being complete in 2030. At the Formula E Rome Grand Prix, the Maserati Grecale Folgore Electric SUV was also on display. MUST READ: Maserati MC20 Price, Specs, Photos & Review The GranTurismo, as the name suggests, has been Maserati’s stunning grand tourer since 2007, and this evolution of the model introduces a new look along with the Folgore electric model. Meet Maserati's new lineup at the tennis world's main stage. Since its initial launch, the Maserati MC20 continues to prove itself as the brand's re-introduction into the supercar market. Looking to showcase its performance-focused vehicle lineup to the public, Maserati hits the open road to visit the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters 2022 tennis tournament. Maserati is proud to sponsor the world’s most prestigious tennis event with the MC20 Fuoriserie and Grecale on-scene for all to enjoy. The two examples are beautifully displayed in the VIP Village, where guests can admire each vehicle up close with a breathtaking ocean view of Monte-Carlo. The Maserati Grecale Trefeo defines itself as an everyday exceptional sports SUV, perfectly blending versatility, elegance, performance, and innovation. The Trofeo version is equipped with a high-performance 530-horsepower Twin-Turbocharged V6 engine based on the Nettuno platform seen in the MC20 supercar. Maserati Furoriserie Abducts The New Grecale SUV To Mars

The brand new Grecale SUV decided to become a Mars-erati. Maserati released the all-new Grecale SUV just yesterday, the brand’s smaller SUV that packs plenty of punch for its profile. Having also recently announced the Fuoriserie customization program that takes Maseratis and transforms them into wildly customized pieces with artistic imagination, it felt natural to combine the two. MUST READ: First Look: All-New 2023 Maserati Grecale Revealed With Smaller Form Factor And $63,500 Base Price However, “natural” isn’t where Maserati stopped. Instead, it made the Grecale extraterrestrial. In this video, Maserati shows the Grecale being abducted by aliens to get the Fuoriserie treatment. Once the car lands on Mars, we can see that it’s been done in a Galactic Orange color with a dazzling wet-look finish, and positively Martian orange window tint to match. Other features on the exterior include the Vortex wheels and glitched Maserati Trident. The interior features a projection of constellations on the panoramic glass roof, and a color scheme that evokes the cockpit of a true spacecraft. First Look: All-New 2023 Maserati Grecale Revealed With S...

The Maserati Levante has proven a smash hit for the Italian carmaker, currently accounting for around 60 percent of its total sales. Following that success, the brand has decided to think smaller and reveal its latest midsize SUV, the Grecale. Slated for a late 2023 arrival, this sleek family hauler will arrive in three distinct flavors, GT, Modena, and Trofeo, with a $63,500 base price. We'll even get a fully electric variant sometime next year. Maserati was kind enough to invite us to check out the Grecale in person ahead of its global debut in Los Angeles. After listening to the brand's presentation, the introduction of the new Maserati Grecale is a no-brainer. Slotted below the Levante, the more accessible Grecale should become the brand's volume seller, borrowing the same architecture that underpins the Alfa Romeo Stelvio as its base.  Borrowing some of the styling elements that make the MC20's epic look, the Grecale is a small-ish sleek SUV with an aggressive edge. In terms of sizing, the Grecale slots neatly in between the Porsche Macan and Cayenne, which will likely be two of its closest competitors. However, the Grecale draws a line in the sand from day one, focusing properly on performance. Also Read: Maserati’s New “Folgore” Electric Lineup Starts With 2023 GranTurismo The entry-level trim, the GT, features a turbocharged four-cylinder engine coupled with a mild hybrid system with a total output of 296 hp. Step up to the Modena, and you gain upgraded styling elements and a power boost up to 325 hp. The range-topper upon release will be the Trofeo with its MC20-derived twin-turbo V6 engine pushing out 523 hp. While it counts on a de-tuned version of the supercars power plant, it delivers enough grunt to make it the quickest option in its segment.  As standard, the Trofeo benefits from an adjustable air suspension system that will live as an optional extra for the slightly cheaper Modena. Thanks to its adjustability across various driving modes, the Grecale even offers an off-road mode that sees the SUV rising by over 1.18 inches for maximum ground clearance. The Italian carmaker boasted about how much interior space the Grecale offers during its presentation, thanks to its 114-inch wheelbase. Once we climbed inside the rear, it quickly became apparent that they weren't kidding. There's plenty of headroom even with the nicely sloping roof, and getting in and out of the Grecale is an absolute breeze. Sit in the front seat, and it's a similar story with the cabin offering a very airy feeling. In the center of the dash, you'll find a 12.3-inch screen housing the brand's latest infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Lower your gaze, and you'll find a second smaller 8.8-inch screen displaying additional information. There's also a digital instrument cluster in front of the driver. Unfortunately, the prototype we spent time with didn't have these components fired up for us to look at.  While the Grecale is arriving on the scene with a sporty aesthetic with stats to back it up, its future is also quite exciting. While we don't have exact dates or pricing, a fully electric version of the Grecale will arrive sometime next year. Given that this SUV should become the brand's top seller, an electrified version could see its success carry well into the future. See All Maseratis For Sale

Maserati's New "Folgore" Electric Lineup Starts With 2023...

2021 was a great year for Maserati, but it’s going to keep getting better. Maserati enjoyed a 2021 with increased sales, to the tune of 41%, increased market share, and plenty of other successes. However, their biggest success yet comes more recently, as Maserati has finally announced its plan to introduce a range of electric vehicles, which will be called Maserati Folgore, named after the Italian word for “lightning,” and this announcement makes Maserati the first Italian luxury car brand to produce fully electric models. MUST READ: 75 Years After Its First Gran Turismo, Maserati’s New GranTurismo Is Going Fully Electric Better yet, the Trident plans to complete the electric lineup by 2025, which will by then be extended to include the MC20, the Quattroporte, Levante, Grecale, and more. The pioneer Maserati Folgore model, however, will be the new GranTurismo, which employs technology derived from Formula E to provide the degree of performance, comfort, beauty, and elegance that we have become so accustomed to with the GranTurismo as we have known it. Performance statistics, pricing, and other details for the Folgore Gran Turismo have yet to be revealed, but the car will debut on the market in 2023. Source: Maserati

75 Years After Its First Gran Turismo, Maserati's New Gra...

Maserati’s love for luxury and performance dates back 75 years. Gran Turismo, or GT, is a way of describing cars that combine luxury and comfort with exhilarating performance, and for decades, that designation has been used to describe some of the greatest cars we have ever seen, which combine stately luxury with fearsome driving capability. And when you think of GT cars, Maserati is one of the first brands that come to mind. MUST READ: The Maserati Boomerang Is 50 Years Old But Still Looks Like It’s From The Future 75 years ago, in March 1947, was when Maserati launched the first Maserati GT ever at the Geneva Motor Show, the Tipo A6 1500 Gran Turismo. Many aspects of the car are things that Maseratis and other GT cars continue to echo to this day. At the time, its 6-cylinder engine produced an amazing 65 horsepower and climbed up to a top speed of over 90 miles per hour. Its gorgeous Pininfarina styling with lines sweeping from front to back, long hood, and plexiglass sunroof complimented the performance and defined the GT car for decades to come. Now, Maserati is getting ready to bow out its current GranTurismo model, which premiered 15 years ago at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, which continued to define Gran Turismo cars with its timeless looks and Ferrari-derived V8 engine. The next Maserati GranTurismo, however, will mark a new chapter for the Trident and GT cars as a whole, as it will make a big stride forward by being Maserati’s first 100% electric car once it is launched in 2023. The Maserati Boomerang Is 50 Years Old But Still Looks Li...

Even after half a century, the Boomerang is still important to Maserati’s current efforts. The Geneva Motor Show has been a place where automotive brands from all over the world bring the absolute best they have to offer, from flagship production models to concepts that bravely venture into the future of their brand and the automotive industry as a whole. In 1972, 50 years ago, the Maserati Boomerang was one of these concepts, a mid-engined, Giorgetto Giugiaro-penned wedge that pushed the boundaries of what was possible, practical, and normal at that point in the automotive world. MUST READ: Maserati Brings A Fleet To The International Concours of Elegance To Play In The Snow Based on a Maserati Bora, the Boomerang’s rear-mid-mounted V8 produced 310 horsepower, which was able to get the Boomerang to speeds of close to 186 mph, with the help of rear-wheel drive and a 5-speed manual transmission. However, its speed was far from being the car’s only bragging right. The Boomerang featured incredibly daring, avant-garde looks, from its futuristically minimal wedge shape to the panoramic sunroof, which was unheard of at the time, and the enormous windows that were split in the middle by a strip of metal. And once inside the car, the Maserati Boomerang’s dashboard provides an unobstructed view of the road ahead, because the instrument cluster is mounted inside the steering wheel. The wheel is spokeless and moves with the driver while the gauges remain stationary. With the introduction of the Boomerang 50 years ago, Maserati’s style, and direction were informed for a great many years, but the Boomerang has had a legacy even beyond that. It has since been loved by car enthusiasts and the public worldwide, winning awards in auto shows and being featured in advertisements by Louis Vuitton. And most importantly, the Boomerang is one of Maserati’s most important reminders of the brand’s dedication to beauty, luxury, and futurism in all of its vehicles and endeavors. Source: Maserati
