Mercedes-Benz USA Sells Nearly 80,000 Vehicles In Q2 2022

With half of the year over, Mercedes-Benz continues to struggle with the supply crisis. With second-quarter sales of 79,105 Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles in the United States this year, combined with 19,730 vans, Mercedes-Benz sold 98,835 vehicles this quarter, which is an increase of 6.9 percent compared to the same period last year. However, this increase is still not enough to compensate for the difficulty that the supply chain put on last quarter, as for Mercedes-Benz USA, 2022 year-to-date sales are still down by 4.2 percent compared to year-to-date sales at the same time in 2021. MUST READ: The Best Mercedes’ You Can Buy Today Volume leaders for the quarter were unsurprisingly the GLC, GLE, and C-Class models, as the C-Class has always been a staple for Mercedes-Benz, and the luxury SUV has been a popular segment for American customers. Sales of electric vehicles continue to grow for the brand, as the Mercedes-EQ EQS sedan sold 1,959 units, contributing to a total of 4,048 units sold year-to-date. Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned sales, however, are an even bigger success, with 2022’s year-to-date sales number of 66,025 marking the second-highest figure for the first half of a year that Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned has ever enjoyed. The Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX Broke Its Own Record With A...

The Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX continues to make long strides for electric mobility, literally. The Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX proved an important point for the viability of electric mobility when it managed to drive over 621 miles from Stuttgart, Germany to Cassis, France in April on a single charge. However, it didn’t rest there. This time, the car managed to drive 747 miles, going from Stuttgart, Germany all the way to Silverstone in the UK, where it was able to do 11 laps on the iconic British track before using the last of its charge. Its journey faced challenges like heavy traffic, summer weather, and varying environments from the Autobahn to the Eurotunnel and to the M25 around London, and it was easily able to brave them all. MUST READ: BRABUS Reveals The Original Mercedes-Benz 300 SL ‘Gullwing’ From Andy Warhol’s ‘Cars’ Series Temperatures up to 86 degrees Fahrenheit meant that the thermal management system that helped the Vision EQXX make its first long-distance journey had to prove even more effective for this journey. Careful engineering of the electric drive unit and the lightweight thermal management system allowed it to keep an efficient temperature without using any unnecessary energy. Even after finishing its journey to Silverstone, the EQXX was able to reach its maximum limited speed of 87 mph on the track as Mercedes-EQ Formula E driver Nyck de Vries pushed it to its limit. After 11 laps, 747 miles were counted on the single charge that the car had. After being recharged, it set off to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where visitors can see the incredible progress Mercedes-Benz has made in electric mobility and luxury. Source: Mercedes-Benz

The New Mercedes-AMG GLE "Edition 55" Models Continue AMG...

Mercedes-AMG’s “Edition 55” models continue as the brand celebrates the historic anniversary year. Mercedes-AMG has spent this year releasing “Edition 55” models to celebrate 55 years of AMG. Since 1967, the German house has been dedicated to bringing out the performance potential of Mercedes-Benz cars, and since being a part of the Mercedes-Benz brand, that dedication has been more than fulfilled with legendary cars and feats coming from the group. The latest model to get the “Edition 55” treatment is the Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV, along with the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, with a new look made to celebrate AMG’s storied history. Featuring 22-inch forged AMG cross-spoke wheels along with an AMG crest graphic on the sides of the car, combined with the AMG Night Package, the "Edition 55" has a sleek and special look. A black and red interior, matching the rest of the “Edition 55” models, is accented by “Edition 55” letterings, signatures, and badges throughout, from the steering wheel to the seats, to the palm rest on the center console. Of course, the true signature of AMG is performance, and with the GLE 53 Coupe and SUV, the 0-60 dash happens in just 5.2 seconds with 429 horsepower and 384 lb/ft of torque. With the GLE 63 Coupe and SUV, 0-60 is even faster at just 3.7 seconds, with 603 horsepower and 627 lb/ft of torque on tap. It’s no wonder Mercedes-Benz gave the GLE the honor of being a performance SUV that celebrates 55 years of performance prowess. View All Mercedes-Benz For Sale Source: Mercedes-Benz

BRABUS Reveals The Original Mercedes-Benz 300 SL 'Gullwin...

The automotive and art icon makes its appearance at The Mercedes-Benz Museum. Artistic influence made its presence within the luxury automotive industry back when world-renowned artists were in the midst of their monumental careers. Mercedes-Benz took this approach in 1986 when the brand commissioned American artist Andy Warhol to paint the ‘Cars’ series using 20 of its most iconic models. The special project consists of 80 vibrant pictures that document Daimler Motorized Carriage and Benz Patent Motor Cars’ history of the automobile from 1886 to 1986. With the Andy Warhol ‘Cars’ series on exhibition in the Atrium of the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the aftermarket specialists at BRABUS are proud to showcase the specific Mercedes-Benz 300SL ‘Gullwing’ used as inspiration for Warhol. Although the vehicle was never seen in person by Andy Warhol, a photo of the 300 SL with the same number plate ended up in a sports car book while he was painting the collection. MUST-READ: The GearBox: BRABUS Meets Porsche The famous 300SL ‘Gullwing’ holds the registration number ‘EI-DR 1’ and is one of only 1,400 chassis to come from the Sindelfingen plant of Mercedes-Benz. Concluding a thorough investigation, BRABUS acquired the vehicle in 2020 after being privately owned for 39 years. The silver-grey over blue leather 300 SL ‘Gullwing’ configuration underwent a BRABUS Classic 6-Star, investing more than 4,500 hours of labor rebuilding the historic example from the ground up. While the Mercedes-Benz Art hosts ‘Cars’ by Andy Warhol at the museum from June 21-26, the special Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing will be on-scene for all to enjoy. The vehicle is provided by BRABUS GmbH, Bottrop, and comes with the proof that this is the sports car that served Warhol as a “model” for the “Cars” series. 2023 Mercedes-AMG ONE Officially Revealed: A 1,049 HP Hyp...

At long last, the automotive world’s legendary three-pointed star sits at the front of a modern hypercar. Mercedes-Benz has proven its racing and motorsport prowess for decades, with its incredible racing teams and AMG performance house that dominates roads and tracks all across the globe. After 55 years of AMG, which was first established all the way back in 1967, the time has come for Mercedes-AMG to enter the hypercar ring. It’s a fiercely competitive space where brands show off the absolute best they can offer on four wheels when it comes to luxury, performance, technology, and the most cutting-edge engineering and innovation, and thankfully, Mercedes-AMG’s racing experience has quite a lot to offer to the new Mercedes-AMG ONE. A new hybrid hypercar, the AMG ONE brings to the road technology that has helped Mercedes-AMG dominate Formula 1. Four electric motors and a 1.6-liter V6 engine combine to give the Mercedes-AMG ONE 1,049 horsepower, and the top speed has to be limited to an incredible 219 mph. Mind you, that 1.6-liter is a real F1 engine, although it has been modified. Together with a monocoque, carbon bodywork, AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive, active aero and more technology, the Mercedes-AMG ONE is going to be a fearsomely dynamic and powerful vehicle. The electric motors serve plenty of functions, with one integrated into the turbocharger to reduce lag, one connected to the crankshaft, and the final two driving the front wheels, and while the Formula 1 engine can’t rev quite as high as its racing counterpart, it gets up to an incredible 11,000 rpm. With six driving modes including an all-electric mode, optional magnesium wheels with optional carbon covers for aerodynamics, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and carbon ceramic brakes, the Mercedes-AMG ONE is poised to be an incredible and impressive car in any crowd, being at heart an F1 car built for both the road and track. In fact, the active aero system in the Mercedes-AMG ONE features a Drag Reduction System (DRS) just like the Formula 1 car it took knowledge and inspiration from. While the Mercedes-AMG ONE is a no-nonsense, racing-ready hypercar with F1 ethos, it isn’t completely Spartan. There are shifting lights mounted on the steering wheel, but also Nappa leather surfaces and a cutting-edge infotainment system, as well as electric windows and air conditioning, making the Mercedes-AMG ONE a car just as ready for everyday usability as it is to tackle apexes and chicanes. With luxury, performance, and style like we’ve never seen before, the new Mercedes-AMG ONE embodies the definition of a hypercar. Mercedes-AMG ONE pricing has not been announced, but it's rumored to be set over $2 million. As far as production goes, just 275 examples are planned although they are all already spoken for.
