2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe Introduced

They told us something fast was coming, and now we know what that something is.The 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe has been officially introduced to the world in a post on Mercedes-Benz's Facebook page today. Four photos giving us a look at it "running some last laps at Hockenheimring before its world premiere at IAA later this year," as the caption tells us.On a special microsite tracking each step of this new C63's introduction, you can see the bits and pieces as they were unveiled. June 8 they told us they needed "a V8 biturbo to be the cam car," and on July 7 and 8 they showed us some shots of its camo. The C63 has been getting some impressive upgrades over the past two years. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, introduced Sept. 24, 2014, featured the same 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 found in the Mercedes-AMG GT, and was the first model designed from the ground up by AMG. The original C63 AMG was wildly popular, and in honor of the move from a naturally aspirated to a turbocharged engine, on July 15 they introduced the Legacy Edition, built for South Africa.Scheduled for Sept. 17 to 27, 2015, the International Motor Show won't be far from Mercedes-AMG's development center. Frankfurt am Main will surely be flooded with stunning cars throughout the show, but we're now especially excited to see the new take on the C63 Coupe. Check out the photos and teaser video, and stay with us for more updates as they are released. If the older C63 models are more your speed, be sure to find one for yourself from our exclusive listings.C63 AMGs For Sale Gallery (Source: Facebook, Mercedes-AMG) See More Mercedes-Benz News

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG "Legacy Edition"

We will surely miss the deep exhaust rumble and brutal low-end torque of the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter C63 AMG.The 2015 C63 is powered by the 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 from the GT S, as we reported Sept. 24, 2014. While the advancements in power production are impressive, it is bittersweet to move on from the sound of a naturally aspirated engine. To celebrate one of the most popular AMG models ever made, ten “Legacy Edition” coupes were built in bright Viper Green. We can see them in a gallery posted yesterday on Mercedes-AMG's Facebook page, and as the caption tells us, all ten are on their way to South Africa.More photos can be found on AMG’s C63 site, along with some of the finer details. Each car received a numbered dash plaque along with unique ten-spoke forged wheels. Hopefully one of the lucky owners will list it for sale in the world’s best car magazine.(See Also: New Mercedes-Benz E-Class Models Set to Feature New Tech)If you want to experience the last C63 AMG with a big V8, there are still a handful at dealers. New Mercedes-Benz E-Class Models Set to Feature New Tech

They may have just released final pricing for the 2016 models on June 15, but development of the 2017 models from Mercedes-Benz is already well under way and preparing for the public. 2015 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Infotainment systemThough it's not a fully autonomous vehicle yet, the fifth generation E-Class models are set to have the most driver's assist offerings to date. From Intelligent Drive next Level, to Remote Parking Pilot and Digital Car Key, the E-Class is becoming the saloon of the 22nd century. May 11 reports from World Car Fans indicate that it this new take on the E-Class, officially its fifth generation, will be introduced in January at the 2016 North American International Auto Show.Below is a quick breakdown of the major features you can expect to see when these go on sale in spring 2016. Intelligent Drive next Level: With this function, the car essentially drives itself by maintaining a safe distance behind the car in front of you and by following that car in its lane. When Speed Limit Pilot is active, this function will take into account any speed limits that the camera sees posted along the road, and navigates roadways with or without visible lanes. Essentially, it brakes, accelerates, steers and follows the laws for you. Active Brake Assist: This function warns you when a crash is about to happen by sensing when cars in front of you are slowing or stopped, when pedestrians are in the way or when traffic is coming through an intersection ahead of you. It adds extra braking power when you react, or reacts by braking for you in case of an emergency. Evasive Steering Assist: This works in conjunction with the Active Brake Assist. When you are warned of a crash and perform evasive steering, this function calculates steering torque to perfectly support the movement of the  steering wheel. This makes sure you evade swiftly and smoothly, and straighten back out quickly. Mercedes-Benz E 400 Hybrid (W212) 2014, US-VersionRemote Parking Pilot: The best option ever when parking in public spaces. An app on your phone controls the car as it pulls into and out of a parking space, meaning you'll never have to squeeze out while trying not to hit the car next to you with your door. Unfortunately, this won't be available for the US when it launches. Car-to-X Communication: Through the incorporation of mobile phone connectivity, car-to-car networking allows vehicles on the road to "communicate" with each other, sending information updates about potential hazards down the road long before your vehicle's camera systems would discover them on their own. Mercedes-Benz E 400 Hybrid (W212) 2014, US-VersionDigital Car Key: Ditch the key ring in favor of your cell phone, because with this function that's all you'll need to lock, unlock and start your car. PRE-SAFE Sound: Few details are available about how it does so, but this feature acts to protect passengers' ears in case of an accident by somehow buffering the anticipated loud noise.  MULTIBEAM LED Headlamps: A combination of 84 individually activated, high-performance LED bulbs light the roadway without blinding those ahead of you. Through the inclusion of these new features, Mercedes-Benz hopes to further improve safety, comfort and enjoyment while drivers are on the road. The marque has always been at the forefront of innovation in the automotive industry, and next year's E-Class is no exception. Stay with us to learn more about this futuristic model as it is released, or find one with some more traditional features from our exclusive listings. Mercedes-AMG Teases a New Model

We don't know what it is yet. We don't know what it looks like, what's under the hood or what fabric covers the seats. We do know that it's fast.Teased on YouTube July 7 and on the Mercedes-AMG Facebook today is, well, something."Something fast has hit the track," describes the Facebook gallery's caption. "Something Fast is coming," states the video's description. "Watch it go - soon."We can hear the engine upshift, and we can see the wheels, the camo, a hint of the front, the AMG driver behind the wheel and the burnt rubber on the track. The distance between the grille and front wheels is much shorter than usual for AMG designs, making us believe that the entire wheelbase is shortened from the usual formula. We can guess that its an advancement of the tech developed for the AMG GT S, but we can't say for certain. What we can say, though, is that it's fast. Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4² Goes Into Production

Our favorite SUV has some hot new features for 2016. The Geländewagen, or better known as the G-Class, from Mercedes-Benz is one of the most capable and long-lived models in recent history, and in a press release issued this morning, Daimler announced that they will put the G500 4x4² into production.Inspired by the G500 4x4² show car, this new model features military-spec portal axles along with a new V8 engine. These new axles are nearly 12-inches wider and use a clever set of gears at each corner.(Related: Porsche Finishes Production on the 918 Spyder)This raises the drive line higher above the wheels to give 4x42 almost 18” of ground clearance. For the ultimate in grip, it arrives fitted with 22-inch wheels wearing massive 325/55 tires. These are some of the potent parts also found under the ludicrous G63 AMG 6x6, and we’re glad they’re available in a more sedate package. In order to meet strict new Euro 6 emissions requirements, the base model G500 and the new 4x42 will receive a new 4.0-liter V8. The displacement may seem diminutive on paper, it comes fitted with two potent turbos that help to produce 422 hp and 450 lb-ft. While it may not be a G63 AMG level of power, the engine is derived from the new V8 found in the AMG GT S. Having this much torque with three locking differentials will make for a fun time off of the road, with much better fuel economy than its predecessors. As soon as Mercedes-Benz of Tampa Bay receives theirs in December, expect to see a full review. In the meantime, check out the gallery below and stay tuned for more G-Class updates.Mercedes-Benzs For SaleGallery (Source: Daimler/ Mercedes-Benz) More Mecedes-Benz News

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren: Carbon-Fiber's First Victory

Carbon fiber supercars are now the state of the art, but this wasn’t the case at the beginning of the 21st century. Mercedes-Benz was looking for a way to integrate the super strong composite into their production cars, but instead of a gradual introduction, they chose the path less traveled. In 2003, Daimler owned 40 percent of McLaren Group and decided to leverage their expertise in composites and suspensions to build a featherweight GT car. The SLR McLaren ushered in many technologies that we now take for granted. Carbon ceramic brakes and a carbon fiber reinforced composite body were used to keep weight at a minimum. A hand built supercharged 5.4-liter V8 making 617 hp and 580 lb-ft of torque was developed solely for this car.Several special editions were created near the end of production.  In 2006, AMG revised the engine to make 640 hp and 600 lb-ft. To celebrate, they christened this model the 722 Edition. The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 pays homage to the victory of Sir Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson at the 1955 Mille Miglia. This engine also found its way into a Roadster. Only 150 examples of the  Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 S were built and they are among the most sought after collector cars in recent history.Another 75 roadsters were built as the SLR Stirling Moss. These are a true speedster with no windshield or roof. The final 25 cars are known as the McLaren Edition. The team at McLaren wanted to end production with a bang, so mufflers were omitted in favor of an angry exhaust note. These cars are still at the forefront of automotive technology and performance, and every so often their collectors offer them for sale. We have seen a recent surge in their popularity, so here are a few examples from our dealer network.View All Listings2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren North Miami Beach, Florida View Price 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Cleveland, Ohio View Price 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722S Lake Park, Florida View Price 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Warrensville, Ohio View Price 2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren The Woodlands, Texas View Price 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren The Woodlands, Texas View Price 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster Lake Park, Florida View Price 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster 5.5-liter Convertible Ontario, California View Price 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster Los Angeles, California View Price 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren North Miami Beach, Florida View Price View All Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Listings

2015 Mercedes-Benz E250 BlueTEC Sedan Review

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz E250 BlueTEC Sedan is the most affordable E-Class model, but that didn't doesn't mean it isn't brimming with luxury, performance and the German styling we all know and love. In fact, for the suggested MSRP of $52,650, this model will have you rolling in high-end luxury you'd expect in a car worth twice as much. Quite the LookerOn the outside, the E250 is a fantastic looking car. It has styling that will most certainly catch eyes on the road or in a parking lot, as is the case with every Mercedes model. Adding to the exterior styling of the car we spent some time with were the optional 17-inch wheels, lowered sport suspension and sport body styling featured in the 321 Sport Package.Apps Really Do HelpInside, the luxury continued. The optional P01 Premium 1 Package added the COMAND® System in the console, heated front seats, split-folding rear seats, a power rear-window shade, power-folding mirrors and a camera. With the system, I found myself checking the weather and traffic on a regular basis, which was helpful as I live in Florida's most densely populated county. When you combine a lot of people with a lot of rain, you get a lot of accidents. Diesel PowerBeing a BlueTEC, this E250 was equipped with a 2.1-liter four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine. This engine is incredibly efficient, holding an average mpg rating of 28 city and 42 highway. That being said, horsepower is rated at 195, while torque sits at 369 lb-ft. The added torque is expected from a diesel engine. When the throttle was open, the car was responsive. While it may not be as fast as an AMG model, it was peppy enough- this is a luxury cruiser, not a sports car.ConclusionWhen all things are considered, the 2015 E250 BlueTEC Sedan is everything I expected: luxurious, reasonably priced and quick. Additionally, this is the least expensive way to get your hands on an E-Class. What's not to love?Be sure to check out your local Mercedes-Benz dealer to see one for yourself.E250 BlueTECs For Sale
