Mercedes-Benz G-Class Celebrates 400,000 Wagens & Counting

Forty years ago the Cold War was the hot topic. West Germany needed a 4x4 capable of stopping the Iron Curtain, so that is why the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is celebrating 400,000 wagens & counting. The G-Wagon is the anglicized acronym for the Geländewagen. In German, this means cross-country or 'overland wagon'. It was Mercedes-Benz's answer to thwart a western invasion across the Fulda Gap. Inside AMG: G-Wagen Experience Center With that doomsday scenario in-mind, designers offered a rugged body-on-frame that could be pressed into frontline service while also transporting troops and their gear. Of course, it was adopted by many NATO countries to fill thousands of roles, and it has also become the most popular SUV in countries around the world. If Germany had a Jeep, this would be it, as families cherish them as heirlooms and rites of succession. If you are reading this, you know we are the world's best resource for buying and selling G-Wagens of every vintage, so click the button below to find one for yourself. Mercedes-Benz Confirms Six New Electric Models

Earlier this year, GM's CEO Mary Barra confirmed Cadillac will be all electric in the near future. Spurred on by Porsche buying 20% of Rimac and Tesla's incredible battery advancements, Mercedes-Benz has confirmed six new electric models. Starting at the bottom, their press release says the EQA will be the EV brother of the GLA compact SUV. It will arrive later this year, followed by the larger EQB early next year. The electric E-Class will be the EQE, and it will spawn an SUV variant next year. None of these would be possible without the new modular architecture of the EQS. More than just an electric S-Class, it is poised to be the flagship of the brand. Their target is a range of 435 miles with everything you would expect from their largest sedan. This new chassis & propulsion system is scalable to all models, and it will eventually be manufactured in factories from Alabama to Austria. Mercedes-Benz For Sale As part of its "Ambition 2039" initiative, Mercedes-Benz is working on offering a CO2-neutral new car fleet less than 20 years from now. The company wants electrically powered cars  including all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles  to account for more than half of its sales already by 2030. This plan is ambitious to say the least, but with the full backing of Daimler, they will give EV buyers unparalleled German luxury and performance. Mercedes-Benz Celebrates 120th Anniversary of Their Brand...

Emil Jellinek was an Austrian car dealer who prepared and sold Daimler cars for racing events. To honor his successes, the company decided to name a new car after his daughter. That is how the 1900 Mercedes 35 HP laid the foundation for an empire. It debuted in April, just in time to win several races. Many historians regard it as the prototype of the automobile industry. Bettina Fetzer is the Head of Marketing for Mercedes-Benz AG, and she says: "Women like Mercédès Jellinek or Bertha Benz shaped the success story of Mercedes-Benz from the start. With our She’s Mercedes initiative, founded in 2015, we are building on this tradition for our numerous female customers around the world. The future of Mercedes-Benz will combine sustainability and luxury in a fascinating way." So here's to all female motoring pioneers. And as food for thought, the world's greatest car magazine wouldn't be here without Mrs. duPont and the hard work of all our female coworkers. Browse All Mercedes-Benz For Sale

Mercedes F1 is Building Breathing Machines

While many automakers have stepped up to build ventilators, many patients don't need such an intrusive apparatus. For those who can still breathe on their own, the U.K.'s National Health Service has asked for CPAP machines. Often used to help with snoring, the Continuous Positive Airway Pressure helps those who aren't affected as badly as the hardest hit. Also used to ween the recovering off of ventilation, we're glad the Mercedes F1 team is building breathing machines. In a press release by Formula 1, the Mercedes High Performance Powertrain factory is quickly gearing up to deliver 1,000 units daily to University College London Hospital and to the National Health Service. We applaud their efforts in going from project meeting to production in 100 hours, so stay with us for all your Formula 1 updates.
