New $1.1M 1-of-13 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 130Y Motorspor...

Mercedes-Benz celebrates an incredible motorsport history. Mercedes-Benz traces its roots to the very first production automobile, and it’s one of the original names in motorsport as well, beginning its racing pedigree to the first automotive competition, which took place in the 19th century. Specifically, the competition went from Paris to Rouen on July 22, 1894, and a Daimler-powered vehicle won. 130 years have passed by since then, and Mercedes-Benz has grown its motorsport legacy to include F1, touring cars, GT racers, and more. The new Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 130Y Motorsport celebrates that history of over a century. It was revealed at the prestigious Monterey Car Week and is limited to just 13 units worldwide, each costing over $1.1 million. It’s a non-homologated special model and the most powerful GT3 to be built in Affalterbach, with 671 horsepower. It’s also the last Mercedes-AMG GT3 to have a naturally aspirated engine. It’s a tuned version of the handcrafted 6.3-liter V8 without an air restrictor and a special exhaust system to achieve its impressive power figure. It has 15 percent more downforce than the standard GT3 with a wider rear wing to optimize aerodynamics. With a Drag Reduction System inspired by Formula 1 and DTM race cars, the new AMG GT3 130Y Edition Motorsport can achieve a top speed of over 196 mph. As a non-homologated version, it also features carbon brake discs in a system also inspired by Formula 1 cars. The car has already shown incredible racing prowess, as a prototype version of the car, driven by Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Jules Gounon to beat the track record for GT cars on the iconic and challenging Mount Panorama Circuit in Australia by 2.074 seconds, with its time of 1 minute and 56.605 seconds. Its design is inspired by historic Mercedes-Benz race cars, like the 300 SL W 194 race car from 1952 and the Mercedes-Benz SLR 300 models from 1955. Each of the 13 examples will be delivered with a package of exclusive extras, including a custom car cover, exclusive Mercedes-AMG x PUMA racing gear, a custom racing helmet from BELL, and a personalized bag that matches the seat upholstery. With an incredible 130 years of motorsport to celebrate, Mercedes-Benz is asserting its status as one of the first and most incredible names in the automotive industry and racing. This highly exclusive, track-only new Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 130Y Motorsport is a symbol of that incredible pedigree. View All Mercedes-AMG GTs For Sale Image Source: Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-AMG Reveals New 805HP GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE

A hybrid powertrain gives the new AMG GT flagship 805 horsepower. This weekend in the bustling city of Shanghai, excitement is building for an intense race as Formula 1 visits for the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix, and as the countdown continues for the race to start, Mercedes-AMG adds to the electricity in the atmosphere with the global reveal of a new high-performance creation: the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE. Following the lead of many of the recent peak-performance AMG models, the GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE uses a hybrid powertrain to increase power and performance. Specifically, that powertrain consists of a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine and an electric motor on the rear axle, which combined provide the grand tourer with an immense 805 horsepower, as well as 1,047 lb/ft of torque. That results in a blisteringly quick 0-60 time of just 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 199 mph. Power is sent to all four wheels via the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ system, which along with rear-axle steering ensures excellent traction and dynamism, with the electric motor able to send power to the front wheels for added traction in the event of rear-axle slip, or provide extra boost from a standstill, contributing to the incredible 0-60 time. Carbon ceramic brakes provide racing-level stopping power, and active aerodynamics throughout optimize performance, including an active element at the front of the car in the underbody, which lowers by 1.6 inches at 50 mph, creating a Venturi effect that adds front downforce and enhances performance. In addition, the active rear spoiler features five new positions which can either add downforce or reduce drag. As with any Mercedes-AMG vehicle, style and luxury are important considerations alongside thrilling high performance, and the extended MANUFAKTUR Signature program introduces exclusive paint finishes like Desert Sand and Cirrus Silver Magno, along with interior finishes like Red/Black and Savannah Beige/Black quilted Nappa leather, with luxurious details like a hand-stitched Nappa leather-wrapped steering wheel, illuminated door sill panels, and MANUFAKTUR badging on the center console in chrome. Hybrid powertrains are taking the power and performance of AMG’s lineup to a new level, and after revealing the new generation of the Mercedes-AMG GT coupe, the newest flagship is the latest to be imbued with incredible hybrid power. With 805 horsepower and incredible performance-oriented technology throughout, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE is stylish, innovative, and ready to usher in a new electrified era for AMG. It didn't take much convincing to unleash the Mercedes-AMG GT3 on the streets! Let's face it. As car enthusiasts with an obsession for all things automotive, we've all tried to convince ourselves, at one point or another, that a track-only, competition GT car would be appropriate to call a daily driver. Race Service is based in Los Angeles and known for its creative collaborations that tie together the world of media and streetwear with motorsports, as seen in past projects and clothing lines with Mercedes-Benz. The once-in-a-lifetime opportunity came as part of the car's official debut alongside a must-have apparel collection inspired by the authentic side of motorsports, giving race fans a reason to re-style their wardrobe. With room for five, the Mercedes-AMG GT63 SE is ultimate supercar sedan. Designed, engineered, and manufactured in Germany, the Autobahn proves to be the perfect place to test the performance capabilities of Mercedes-AMG sports cars. Incorporating supercar agility and performance into a full-size, four-door sedan, Mercedes-AMG equipped the AMG GT 63 SE with more than 843 horsepower at its disposal. The Mercedes-AMG sets off on its high-speed run on the epic straightaways of Germany's Autobahn. While most modern supercars require optimal road or track conditions and a series of driving modes to adjust to the environment, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE's versatile platform makes it as easy as firing it up and unleashing its full potential. The incredible amount of torque produced from its battery-assisted 4.0 twin-turbocharged V8 launched the Mercedes-AMG from 0 to 186mph in no time.
