New 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Unveiled

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been a staple in the midsize luxury sedan market for decades, combining sporty character with sharp style and sumptuous appointments. For the 2027 model year, Mercedes-Benz has redesigned the iconic model with more technology than ever, a refined new interior, a new powertrain, and more. Introduced in 1982, the C-Class has seen more than twelve million examples sold globally and is one of the most integral nameplates in the 140 years of automotive history that Mercedes-Benz traces its roots to. The comprehensive update for the 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class reinforces that dominance, making use of the latest technology in Mercedes-Benz’s portfolio to create one the most capable and luxurious iterations of the legendary C-Class yet. A new front fascia is one of the most noticeable new design features of the new 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The new grille features a chrome surround, contour lighting, and an illuminated Mercedes-Benz star, and the headlights also feature a star design. Meanwhile, the silhouette has been refined to combine elegance and sportiness, and a selection of 18- and 19-inch wheels further enhances the car’s sporty character. Two new exterior colors have been added to the C-Class palette: Miami Silver Metallic and Moody Sky Grey Metallic. <- Gallery -> A new interior design offers MB-Tex, leather, and Nappa leather upholstery, with a new Cherry Red color and new Natural Grain Birch Wood and High-Gloss Silver Metallic trims. MB.OS technology also comes to the 2027 C-Class, with the AI-powered MBUX Infotainment system, a portrait-oriented center display, a driver display, and a new multifunction steering wheel. Optionally available is a Burmester 3D Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos, boasting 15 speakers and a 710-watt amplifier. Modulation is available for the spatial audio effect, and music can be focused on the first or second row of seats. Another available feature detects the seated occupants, focusing the audio towards them automatically. A new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine powers the new C-Class, which features 48-volt electrification to further enhance its performance and efficiency. It features 255 horsepower and 295 lb/ft of torque, and also boasts an overboost function that adds an extra 27 horsepower for 20 seconds. The driving experience is further enhanced by a suspension dedicated to combining comfort with confidence, a drag coefficient of 0.24, and other high-tech luxury features. Redefining the midsize luxury sedan category, the new 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is more technologically advanced than ever, with the stunning design elements of the latest Mercedes-Benz cohort. Arriving at Mercedes-Benz dealers in the United States in the first half of 2027, a luxury sedan icon has been reborn. View All Mercedes-Benz C-Class For Sale Image Source: Mercedes-Benz

2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric Breaks Cover With 473-Mile Range

2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric Breaks Cover With 473-Mile Range

Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled the 2027 electric C-Class, marking a decisive step in bringing its next-generation EV technology into one of its most established nameplates. After previewing the interior last Thursday, the full vehicle made its global debut today in Seoul, South Korea, led by CEO Ola Källenius. Positioned in the compact D-segment sedan category, the electric C-Class brings innovations first seen in flagship models like the Mercedes-Benz EQS and entry-level models like the compact CLA, into one of the core models in the brand’s lineup. Mercedes-Benz now signals a more measured, integrated approach, embedding electric variants directly into its core lineup after phasing out the EQ naming structure in 2024. One of the highlights of this all-new C-Class is the design, as the German brand moves away from the ultra-streamlined styling of earlier EQ models and instead adopts a more traditional silhouette. Nowhere is that more apparent than on the front fascia, which features a more upright grille that recalls the Ponton-era cars of the ‘50s, backlit with over 1,000 illuminated elements and a central three-pointed star. The headlight signature integrates the brand’s three-pointed motif, drawing from the Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic Concept we saw in October last year and more recently during the Mercedes-Benz Places | Binghatti City unveiling earlier this year in Dubai.  This grille first appeared in production on the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric and more recently on the Mercedes-Benz VLE. Aerodynamics remain a priority, with a drag coefficient starting at 0.22, supported by a nearly sealed underbody, optimized wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches, and refined airflow management across the body. <- Gallery -> Inside, you are greeted with a lounge-like setup, a space Mercedes is calling ‘Welcome Home,’ your sanctuary on wheels. The cabin centers around the MBUX Hyperscreen, a 39.1-inch unit that spans the dashboard as a single uninterrupted panel. Unlike earlier layouts, it eliminates visible segmentation, and the system runs on MB.OS, integrating MB Drive AI and a voice assistant capable of multi-step interaction with Microsoft Bing, ChatGPT4o, and Google Gemini. Mercedes-Benz also offers the MBUX Superscreen as an alternative.  Other interior highlights include a Sky Control panoramic roof that features 162 illuminated stars, and seats offer lumbar support, massage, and ventilation. A certified vegan interior is available. As for space, with a wheelbase that is 3.8 inches longer compared to combustion models, there’s more in the cabin in both rows. Practicality remains a focus, with 470 liters of trunk capacity (16.6 cubic feet) and over 100 liters (3.5 cubic feet) of additional storage in the front compartment. Performance and usability figures position the electric C-Class competitively within its segment. Mercedes-Benz targets a range of up to 800 kilometers (497 miles), supported by an 800-volt architecture that can add 325 kilometers (202 miles) of range in just 10 minutes. At launch, a 360 kW variant will lead the lineup. For some context on the range, the Tesla Model 3 offers up to 363 miles of range. Mercedes is also claiming that this is the sportiest C-Class to date, offering unmatched agility and long-distance comfort thanks to air-matic suspension and rear-axle steering. The C400 4Matic Electric with dual electric motors packs 482 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. For over 30 years, the C-Class has long served as a foundation for Mercedes-Benz, and this latest iteration reflects a broader recalibration. In today’s geopolitical environment, with fluctuating fuel costs and shifting energy priorities, electric mobility continues to gain relevance. This follows a period where several automakers reassessed EV timelines and leaned into hybrids. As for competition, BMW’s upcoming BMW i3 Neue Klasse and Audi’s evolving EV strategy, where even-numbered models will define its battery electric offerings, meaning an electric A4 is expected to follow. The New Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE Has The World's...

The performance version of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class just got more serious than ever. While it’s always been a desirable, luxurious, and powerful luxury performance car, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE completely changes its approach to performance with a new powertrain that uses half as many cylinders but produces more power than the model has ever seen before. The new car retires the predecessor’s twin-turbocharged V8 engine and instead opts for a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with electric motors for a hybrid setup, but by no means is that 4-cylinder engine sluggish. Good for as much as 476 horsepower on its own, the longitudinally-installed engine is a version of the famous M139 four-cylinder engine that yet again reaffirms its title as the world’s most powerful 4-cylinder engine in a roadgoing production car with an incredible 238 horsepower per liter. Of course, this incredible number comes even before the electric system is accounted for. MUST READ: The Best Mercedes’ You Can Buy Today The electric motor at the rear axle is capable of 204 horsepower, and with an electrically-shifted two-speed gearbox it joins with the engine to create what is known as a P3 hybrid system. With a total system output of an incredible 680 horsepower along with a total system torque of over 752 lb/ft, the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE is clever, smart, and unprecedentedly powerful. That power is delivered with incredible intelligence thanks to AMG Performance 4MATIC+ and rear-axle steering, as well as the AMG Ride Control suspension with Active Damping seen previously in the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. Also featured is the electric exhaust gas turbocharger, which uses F1-derived technology to cleverly combat turbo lag and deliver an uncompromised driving experience. With a 0-60 time under 3.4 seconds, a luxurious, yet performance-oriented interior, and a MBUX system tailored to the hybrid powertrain, the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE is driving into a new chapter for AMG, faster than ever before. The New Mercedes-AMG C43 Uses Electrified Turbo Tech From F1

Performance, luxury, and innovation are what the new Mercedes-AMG C 43 does best. With what it’s been able to do with its 2-liter 4-cylinder engine, Mercedes-AMG has proved that the 4-cylinder absolutely has a seat at the table when it comes to luxury performance cars. With the M139 engine and its new, racing-derived turbo technology, Mercedes-AMG has announced the new SL43 convertible, and now, the same engine and electrified turbocharger are coming to the C-Class in the form of the new Mercedes-AMG C 43. MUST READ: The New Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV Shocks The Luxury SUV World Having first used this technology on the Formula 1 track, the turbocharger used with the M139 engine works together with a 48-volt electrical system. What this does is spins the turbocharger whenever it needs to be spun before exhaust gas has the ability to do so in a more traditional way. This makes the turbo much more responsive than it would be without the electric motor, and as a result, the car is faster, more exciting, more dynamic, and easier to drive, with a total of 402 horsepower throughout the entire system, which gives the car an estimated 0-60 time of a mere 4.6 seconds. This new technology comes together with 4MATIC permanent all-wheel-drive, a sleek new look with plenty of AMG performance-inspired touches, and the MBUX infotainment system to make a car that is sure to be a pleasure and a thrill to drive.
